The boron-carbon superalloys (BC alloys) were developed to reduce the carbon content of the alloys to less than 0.02 wt.% and increase the boron content to 0.1 wt.% in some Ni-based superalloys. In this study, we have used characterization techniques, such as DTA, XRD, SEM coupling, and thermodynamic calculation using Thermo-Calc software, to obtain information about the phase transformation reaction temperatures and the elemental compositions of the microstructural constituents encountered in the B1914 superalloy. The microstructure of the B1914 superalloy was composed of a gamma (γ) phase with a dendritic structure and gamma prime (γ′) phase with a cuboidal shape. Precipitates of γ′ and a lamellar eutectic, composed of γ/(Mo,Cr,Ni)3B2, were identified in the interdendritic region. The thermodynamic calculation results have shown to be a valuable tool for predicting the transformation temperature, such as liquidus, γ’ solvus, and incipient melting point. These transformations are important parameters used in casting simulation software for determining the heat treatment and welding repair conditions for parts made from this alloy. 相似文献

The effects of grain refinement on the microstructure and mechanical properties of a secondary AlSi7-Cu3Mg gravity die cast cylinder head are reported. Metallographic and image analysis techniques have been used to quantitatively examine the macro- and microstructural changes occurring with the addition of grain-refining agent. The results indicate that the AlTi5B1 addition produces a fine and uniform grain structure throughout the casting; this effect is more pronounced in the slowly solidified regions. The initial contents of Ti and B, which are present as impurity elements in the supplied secondary alloy ingots, are not sufficient to produce effective grain refinement. Under the present casting conditions, the combined addition of AlTi5B1 and Sr does not produce any reciprocal interaction or effect on primary α-Al and eutectic solidification. Grain refinement improves the mechanical properties of the as-cast AlSi7Cu3Mg alloy and produces higher Weibull moduli, thus increasing the reliability of the casting. In this work, the task of resolving the evolution of bubble growth in a flow field during boiling is investigated. A distinction between phases is been made using a diffuse interface method. Surface tension forces are introduced as a volumetric force smeared in the interface. Finally, the evaporation rate is incorporated into the model as a parameter also smeared in the interface region, taking advantage of the diffuse interface approach. The method used involves the coupling of conservation of energy, mass, and momentum using the least squares finite-element method. Fuel cell (FC) is an efficient energy conversion technology that is growing rapidly and will have a significant role to play in a number of energy end-use sectors, from small-scale applications to large-scale power plants. In this paper, two new methods for voltage harmonic compensation of a stand-alone single phase inverted-based FC are presented and evaluated. The stand-alone power system under study consists of: 1) Proton-Exchange-Membrane (PEM) FC with unidirectional DC/DC converter, which converts the DC voltage delivered by the FC to the DC bus voltage; 2) single-phase pulse width modulated (PWM) inverter; 3) transformer; 4) passive filter; and 5) linear and non-linear loads. The dynamic model of this system and the non-sinusoidal output-based controls applied to the PWM inverter for voltage regulation and harmonic compensation are detailed in this paper, and evaluated by simulation under different linear and non-linear loads. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the two purposed methods for voltage harmonic compensation to acceptable levels defined in grid codes. 相似文献

A pentose‐rich hydrolysate fraction obtained by extraction of steam‐pretreated sugarcane bagasse was analysed with regard to dissolved phenolics. The liquid obtained after steam pretreatment (2% SO2 (w/w) at 190 °C for 5 min) was divided into two parts: one containing dissolved compounds originating from hemicellulose (with xylose as the dominating compound), and the other containing predominantly dissolved compounds originating from lignin. Using nuclear magnetic resonance, the main dissolved compounds originating from lignin were identified as the glycosylated aromatics, 5‐O‐(trans‐feruloyl)‐L‐Arabinofuranose and 5‐O‐(trans‐coumaroyl)‐L‐Arabinofuranose, together with p‐coumaric acid and small amounts of more common free phenolics such as p‐hydroxybenzaldehyde, p‐hydroxybenzoic acid and vanillin. The phenolic compounds were analysed and quantified using reversed‐phase high‐performance liquid chromatography. Currently, there is a demand for new engineering materials presenting a combination of strength, low density, processing easiness, and reduced costs. In this context, polymer matrix composites reinforced by natural fibers have been studied in recent years due to their ecological and economic advantages. Some fibers are still little explored in literature despite presenting a great potential as reinforcement like Luffa cylindrica. The present work aims at the preparation and characterization of a vinylester thermoset matrix composite material reinforced by fibers of the natural L. cylindrica fruit after modification treatments. In this study, extraction treatments in organic solvents, mercerization, and a quite new esterification with BTDA dianhydrides were used and the results showed that in all cases, the composite materials reinforced by Luffa fibers have showed improvements in mechanical and thermal properties compared to the vinylester matrix. As an example, 50% tensile increase was obtained for the composite reinforced by fibers esterified with benzophenone tetracarboxylic dianhydride when compared with thermoset matrix. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A qualitative micromechanical fracture mechanics model is presented that shows how a structure that is sensitive to the presence of a single crack or hole can be rendered flaw tolerant by the presence of an interacting distribution of such flaws. Electron device degradation, although not directly accounted for, represents a key issue in microwave circuit design. This is especially true when the particular applications involved (e.g., satellite, military, consumer) do not allow or strongly discourage any kind of maintenance. As a matter of fact, in order to account for device degradation in circuit design, a suitable electron device model is needed which is able to predict the performance degradation as a function of the actual electrical regime involved in the device operation. Such a kind of model is not available in literature. In this paper, quantitative results are provided for device degradation indicators which correlate DC and RF stress experiments. These results can be considered an important step toward the definition of a nonlinear model accounting for device degradation. 相似文献
