A method to derive reflectance spectra and colour coordinates of meat by measurement of reflectance at only three wavelengths, 480, 570 and 620 nm has been developed, by treating the spectra of a meat sample as a linear combination of the spectra of the three major myoglobin derivatives (reduced myoglobin, oxymyoglobin and metmyoglobin). Applied to 300 samples of Semitendinosus and Longissimus dorsi veal muscles at different times post mortem (24 h to 9 d), colour differences ΔE (?) between the derived spectra and the real ones were about 1.5 units. The total pigment content, with high correlation with the extraction method (P < 0.02), and the relative proportions of the derivatives can also be estimated.  相似文献

The wavelet domain association rules method is proposed for efficient texture characterization. The concept of association rules to capture the frequently occurring local intensity variation in textures. The frequency of occurrence of these local patterns within a region is used as texture features. Since texture is basically a multi-scale phenomenon, multi-resolution approaches such as wavelets, are expected to perform efficiently for texture analysis. Thus, this study proposes a new algorithm which uses the wavelet domain association rules for texture classification. Essentially, this work is an extension version of an early work of the Rushing et al. [10], [11], where the generation of intensity domain association rules generation was proposed for efficient texture characterization. The wavelet domain and the intensity domain (gray scale) association rules were generated for performance comparison purposes. As a result, Rushing et al. [10], [11] demonstrated that intensity domain association rules performs much more accurate results than those of the methods which were compared in the Rushing et al. work. Moreover, the performed experimental studies showed the effectiveness of the wavelet domain association rules than the intensity domain association rules for texture classification problem. This paper describes a user study on the benefits and drawbacks of simultaneous spatial sounds in auditory interfaces for visually impaired and blind computer users. Two different auditory interfaces in spatial and non-spatial condition were proposed to represent the hierarchical menu structure of a simple word processing application. In the horizontal interface, the sound sources or the menu items were located in the horizontal plane on a virtual ring surrounding the user’s head, while the sound sources in the vertical interface were aligned one above the other in front of the user. In the vertical interface, the central pitch of the sound sources at different elevations was changed in order to improve the otherwise relatively low localization performance in the vertical dimension. The interaction with the interfaces was based on a standard computer keyboard for input and a pair of studio headphones for output. Twelve blind or visually impaired test subjects were asked to perform ten different word processing tasks within four experiment conditions. Task completion times, navigation performance, overall satisfaction and cognitive workload were evaluated. The initial hypothesis, i.e. that the spatial auditory interfaces with multiple simultaneous sounds should prove to be faster and more efficient than non-spatial ones, was not confirmed. On the contrary—spatial auditory interfaces proved to be significantly slower due to the high cognitive workload and temporal demand. The majority of users did in fact finish tasks with less navigation and key pressing; however, they required much more time. They reported the spatial auditory interfaces to be hard to use for a longer period of time due to the high temporal and mental demand, especially with regards to the comprehension of multiple simultaneous sounds. The comparison between the horizontal and vertical interface showed no significant differences between the two. It is important to point out that all participants were novice users of the system; therefore it is possible that the overall performance could change with a more extensive use of the interfaces and an increased number of trials or experiments sets. Our interviews with visually impaired and blind computer users showed that they are used to sharing their auditory channel in order to perform multiple simultaneous tasks such as listening to the radio, talking to somebody, using the computer, etc. As the perception of multiple simultaneous sounds requires the entire capacity of the auditory channel and total concentration of the listener, it does therefore not enable such multitasking.  相似文献

This study aimed to determine the prevalence of and factors contributing to musculoskeletal system complaints (MSC) in office workers of a vehicle production factory and absenteeism due to these complaints. A total of 86.2% (n = 333) of the workers completed the survey. Of the workers, 73 (21.9%) were women, and 260 (78.1%) were men, and the mean age was 36.9 ± 8.75 years. The majority of the personnel had more than one symptom with a prevalence of 80.8%. The most frequently observed discomfort was tension and pain in the back muscles (58.6%) and in the neck muscles (58.3%), followed by low back pain (41%) and shoulder pain (30.3%). Pain in the shoulders, neck, and the back and pain and numbness in the fingers were statistically significantly more prevalent in employees who spent more than 5 hours per day performing desk work. Furthermore, all of the complaints, excluding pain in the elbows and knees, were statistically significantly more common in the women. When each complaint and the effects of contributing risk factors were analyzed by logistic regression analysis, pain in the shoulders, neck, and back; pain that spread to the arms; and pain in the fingers were correlated with longer work hours and the female gender (p < 0.05). The number of employees who had used sick leave within the past year due to MSCs was 11.7%. In conclusion, duration of work hours, frequency of breaks, and gender were determined as the most important risk factors in computer users regarding MSCs. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

We have developed a playmate robot system for playing the rock-paper-scissors game with humans. The playmate robot recognizes the hand motions of a human using image processing without attaching any additional units to the human. The playmate robot system consists of three parts: a game management part, a hand motion recognition part, and a robot hand control part. The system functions as follows. (1) Before the game is played, the game management part decides on the motion of the robot hand from amongst rock, paper, and scissors. After the game is played, the robot develops a reaction using speech and facial expressions depending on the result of the game. (2) The hand motion recognition part recognizes the hand motion of the human. It does not use any additional units on the human’s body, only a camera on the robot. (3) The robot hand control part shows the motion of the robot hand. A robot hand has four fingers that are controlled independently. We have played the rock-paper-scissors game with this playmate robot.  相似文献

This article proposes a tabu search approach to solve a mathematical programming formulation of the linear classification problem, which consists of determining an hyperplane that separates two groups of points as well as possible in ?m. The tabu search approach proposed is based on a non-standard formulation using linear system infeasibility. The search space is the set of bases defined on the matrix that describes the linear system. The moves are performed by pivoting on a specified row and column. On real machine learning databases, our approach compares favorably with implementations based on parametric programming and irreducible infeasible constraint sets. Additional computational results for randomly generated instances confirm that our method provides a suitable alternative to the mixed integer programming formulation that is solved by a commercial code when the number of attributes m increases.  相似文献

Sustainable supply chain management (SSCM) provides economic, social end environmental requirements in material and service flows occurring between suppliers, manufacturers and customers. SSCM structure is considered as a prerequisite for a sustainable success. Thus designing an effective SCM structure provides competitive advantages for the companies. In order to achieve an effective design of this structure, it is possible to apply quality function deployment (QFD) approach which is successfully applied as an effective product and system development tool. This study presents a decision framework where analytic network process (ANP) integrated QFD and zero-one goal programming (ZOGP) models are used in order to determine the design requirements which are more effective in achieving a sustainable supply chain (SSC). The first phase of the QFD is the house of quality (HOQ) which transforms customer requirements into product design requirements. In this study, after determining the sustainability requirements named customer requirements (CRs) and design requirements (DRs) of a SSC, ANP is employed to determine the importance levels in the HOQ considering the interrelationships among the DRs and CRs. Furthermore ZOGP approach is used to take into account different objectives of the problem. The proposed method is applied through a case study and obtained results are discussed.  相似文献
