Alkaline earths strongly catalyze steam gasification of graphite. The catalytic effect increases in the order Ca < Sr < Ba. Reaction rates of graphite impregnated with 0.3 at.% Ba are 500 times larger than those of pure graphite. Catalysis is due to the participation of additional reaction sites, not to a lowering of the true activation energy. It follows from kinetic data, electron microscopic observations, and theoretical considerations that the efficiency of the catalysts is closely related to their ability to coat a carbon surface and to continue contact with carbon atoms emerging from the bulk. In the presence of sulfur, severe, but not complete, catalyst deactivation occurs. This poisoning is to a large degree reversible.  相似文献

The adsorption of nitrogen oxides on Cu-ZSM-5 was studied by infrared spectroscopy to elucidate the species associated with the band at 2133 cm–1. The band was found for both NO and NO2 adsorption. Labeling experiments with15NO revealed that the associated surface species contained nitrogen and, most likely, an N-O bond. Co-adsorption experiments of NO and oxygen produced adsorbed nitronium, NO 2 + , as the principal, associated species. Adsorption of nitrogen oxides on dispersed CuO and the HZSM-5 support demonstrated that the 2133 cm–1 band was not necessarily associated with copper ions. A relatively strong correlation between the bands at 2133 and 3615 cm–1 indicates that the primary adsorption sites of NO 2 + are the strongly protic, bridging Si(OH)Al framework hydroxyls. Once these were filled, other, weaker acid sites began to adsorb NO 2 O .  相似文献

Samples of palladium supported on-alumina and a palladium foil were used as catalysts for methane oxidation at 550° C. The samples were quenched quickly in the reaction chamber to room temperature in flowing Ar and then transferred in vacuo for XPS analysis. Structure sensitivity was manifest from an increase in PdO stability and a decrease in carbon deposition relative to Pd with increasing particle size. The results were compared with recent ellipsometric data.  相似文献

Aqueous dispersions of anionic polyurethanes were prepared by reaction of polyethers, 1,6-hexamethylene diisocyanate, 1,2,4-benzenetricarboxylic acid anhydride and triethyl amine. Formation of the dispersion was achieved by phase reversal or by precipitation. Phase reversal occurred when the solution or the melt of the polymer was treated with water, while precipitation took place when the solution was stirred into water. The amount of acetone used has an effect on the mean particle diameter, D?T, obtained by turbidity measurements. There was an optimal acetone concentration at which D?T reached a minimum. A similar effect was observed when tetrahydrofuran, 2-butanone or acetonitrile were used as solvents instead of acetone. When the dispersion was formed by precipitation, only adequately diluted acetonic solutions formed colloidal dispersions, while concentrated solutions gave dispersions with a broad particle size distribution.  相似文献

An efficient, reliable and easily programmed method for solving systems of equilibrium stage separation devices is described. The method is an extension of an algorithm developed by Ishii and Otto(9) for single columns. It solves all equations simultaneously, takes advantage of the basic tridiagonal matrix form form of the linearized steady state equations and can handle configurations which include distillation columns, absorbers and reboiled absorbers. The solution for a thermally coupled distillation system is presented.  相似文献

The oxidation of bulky thioethers has been carried out on Ti-Beta and Ti-MCM-41 catalysts, using H2O2 andt-butyl hydroperoxide (TBHP) as oxidants. The intrinsic activity of Ti-Beta was higher than that of Ti-MCM-41 for the oxidation of methyl phenyl sulfide which can penetrate in the pores of Beta, while in the case of the larger isopentyl phenyl sulfide, which diffuses more slowly in Ti-Beta zeolite, Ti-MCM-41 gives a larger activity. Ti-Beta is able to perform better for the more demanding oxidation of sulfoxides to sulfones giving, therefore, higher selectivities to sulfones than Ti-MCM-41. Similar results were obtained when using either H2O2 or TBHP as oxidants. However, the sterical effects were enhanced when TBHP was used as oxidant.  相似文献

Hard coal mining in the German Ruhr district has a tradition of more than 200 years. Starting in the south near the river Ruhr with mining of seams near to the surface, mining wandered to the north with coal seams deeper and deeper. In the same way all environmental effects of mining wandered from south to north, as there are abandoned mining sites, contaminated areas, burning mining dumps, subsided areas and gas accesses at day ground. This all happened in a very high populated area with more than four million inhabitants. Therefore Germany has a long tradition in solving environmental problems of mining activities. The very good interaction of mine authority, mining companies and the mine workers' union is the main reason why the problems of decreasing mining activities in Germany were solved without economic, environmental or social hazards.  相似文献

If the regenerative energy that can be produced in a country is not sufficient for the successful implementation of the energy transition, one possible solution could be the purchase of regeneratively produced electricity from countries particularly favored by meteorology. This article examines five different technologies for energy transport. The electricity is generated once in a photovoltaic system and once in a wind turbine park. The investments in the transmission technologies sometimes exceed the investments in the power generation technologies many times over. According to the available results, without considering storage, the wind turbine system, although it is specifically more expensive than the photovoltaic system, always leads to lower electricity generation costs after the energy transport. The reason is the higher number of full load hours of the wind turbine.  相似文献

In this study, three asset management strategies were compared with respect to their efficiency to reduce flood risk. Data from call centres at two municipalities were used to quantify urban flood risks associated with three causes of urban flooding: gully pot blockage, sewer pipe blockage and sewer overloading. The efficiency of three flood reduction strategies was assessed based on their effect on the causes contributing to flood risk. The sensitivity of the results to uncertainty in the data source, citizens' calls, was analysed through incorporation of uncertainty ranges taken from customer complaint literature. Based on the available data it could be shown that increasing gully pot blockage is the most efficient action to reduce flood risk, given data uncertainty. If differences between cause incidences are large, as in the presented case study, call data are sufficient to decide how flood risk can be most efficiently reduced. According to the results of this analysis, enlargement of sewer pipes is not an efficient strategy to reduce flood risk, because flood risk associated with sewer overloading is small compared to other failure mechanisms.  相似文献
