This work aimed to evaluate the stability of sorghum 3-deoxyanthocyanins (DXA) in model beverages (pH 3.5) elaborated with crude sorghum phenolic extract, containing ascorbic acid and sulphite, under fluorescent light exposure and subjected to heat treatment. There was no significant difference in the DXA degradation during storage under light exposure (24.16%) and absence of light (20.72%). DXA degradation did not differ in the presence of ascorbic acid during storage under light exposure (23.99–25.38%) and absence of light (19.87–21.74%). The addition of sulphite caused an initial bleaching reaction, but as a reversible reaction, the anthocyanin content was higher on the last day of storage compared to the first day. There were no significant differences in total anthocyanin content of all treatments subjected to the heat treatment (80 °C for 5 and 25 min). Thus, crude DXA are very stable under light, additives and heat, and may be useful as natural food colourants.  相似文献

This paper reports a study on the mechanical and tribological properties of ab- and a (b) c?planes of YBa2Cu3O7?δ single crystals. The single crystals were grown using a CuO-BaO self-flux method. The oxygenation effect on the mechanical and tribological properties of ab- and a (b) c?planes is reported. For the ab- plane, the hardness and elastic modulus were around 6 and 50 GPa, respectively. In this case, significant differences were not observed among the hardness and elastic modulus at different oxygenation states. However, the hardness and elastic modulus for as-grown and oxygenated YBa2Cu3O7?δ single crystals were different from that of the a (b) c?plane, and were observed to be slightly higher for the as-grown than for the oxygenated samples. For as-grown and oxygenated samples, we observed hardness values around 4.7 and 2.0 GPa, respectively. Regarding the elastic modulus, the values were 75 and 40 GPa, respectively. The indentation fracture toughness values on the ab- plane for the as-grown and oxygenated YBa2Cu3O7?δ single crystal were 3.7 ± 1.2 and 2.9 ± 1.2 MPa m1/2, respectively. For the ab- plane, the scratch resistance of the as-grown sample was higher than that of the oxygenated sample and the scratches under load were deeper for the oxygenated sample. As regards the a (b) c?plane, the scar features were seemingly constant through all the scratch lengths and the scratches under load were deeper and larger for the oxygenated than that for the as-grown sample.  相似文献

This paper presents the results of laboratory tests performed to study the effect of compaction properties on the development of matric suction in four different soils (three soils were classified as silty clay and one was classified as silty sand). The soils were compacted at the optimum water content (OWC) and wet and dry of optimum according to the standard Proctor procedure (ASTM D698-12). For each sample, matric suction measurements were made using the filter paper technique. When the silty clay soils were compacted at a water content less than the OWC, a significant increase in matric suction was observed. For all the soils tested, matric suction values were very low when the compaction water contents were greater than the OWC. Plots of matric suction vs. compaction water content [ranging from (OWC-2%) to OWC] were developed for the compacted silty clays. The test results indicate that there is a direct relationship between the compaction properties (i.e. compacted dry unit weight and water content) and the matric suction values retained in compacted silty clays. Preliminary relationships were proposed between the matric suction of compacted silty clays and water content based on the data collected in this paper.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to make a comparative evaluation of the surface topography of the cervical third and tip of four different rotary systems, before and after being used 12 times, in resin blocks with simulated root canals with standardized 45° curvatures, and analyzed by scanning electronic microscopy (SEM). A total of 1,440 resin blocks with simulated root canals and standardized curvatures were used. The blocks were divided into four groups and prepared by the crown down technique according to the manufacturers' recommendations: Group 1 (G1)—K3®, Group 2 (G2)—Protaper Universal®, Group 3 (G3)—Twisted Files®, and Group 4 (G4)—Biorace®. After each preparation, the instruments were washed and autoclaved. A total of 24 instruments were selected, being three new instruments and three after having been used for the 12th time, from each group. These instruments were analyzed by SEM. To perform the evaluation, 24 micrographs were observed by 12 evaluators who attributed a score to the images according to a template. In the qualitative analysis of the cervical region and tip of new instruments, it was observe that the files of Groups G4 and G2 were the least rough and those of G1, the roughest. In the same manner, the cervical region of the instruments was qualitatively analyzed after the 12th time of using them, and there was no statistically significant difference at a level of 1% (ANOVA P < 0.01) between G2 and G4 as well as between G1 and G3. As regards the tip, it was observed that there was no statistically significant difference, at a level of 1%, between the groups: G1 and G3, G1 and G4, and between G3 and G4, and there was statistically significant difference at a level of 1%, between group G2 and the other groups, with G3 having the greatest roughness (ANOVA P < 0.01). Noise generation in a subsonic round jet is studied by a simplified model, in which nonlinear interactions of spatially evolving instability modes lead to the radiation of sound. The spatial mode evolution is computed using linear parabolized stability equations. Nonlinear interactions are found on a mode-by-mode basis and the sound radiation characteristics are determined by solution of the Lilley-Goldstein equation. Since mode interactions are computed explicitly, it is possible to find their relative importance for sound radiation. The method is applied to a single stream jet for which experimental data are available. The model gives Strouhal numbers of 0.45 for the most amplified waves in the jet and 0.19 for the dominant sound radiation. While in near field axisymmetric and the first azimuthal modes are both important, far-field sound is predominantly axisymmetric. These results are in close correspondence with experiment, suggesting that the simplified model is capturing at least some of the important mechanisms of subsonic jet noise.  相似文献
