The effects of reaction time, concentration of aqueous sodium hydroxide and molar ratio iodomethane/chitosan on the yield of the reaction of chitosan with iodomethane in N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidone (NMP) at 25.0 ± 0.1 °C, as well as on the characteristics of the resulting N,N,N‐trimethylchitosan (TMCh), were evaluated by using full‐factorial 23 design analysis and response surface methodology. This study also aimed to determine the reaction conditions allowing the production of water‐soluble TMCh presenting a high average degree of quaternization and intrinsic viscosity at high reaction yield. 1H NMR spectroscopy was employed for structural characterization, including the determination of average degrees of acetylation () and quaternization (), while capillary viscometry was used to determine intrinsic viscosity [η]. The results show that when the extensive N‐methylation is carried out for 24 h in NMP/15% NaOH (w/v) employing a lower excess of iodomethane (CH3I/Ch = 9), water‐soluble highly substituted ( = 46.0%) TMCh ([η] = 213.0 mL g?1) can be produced in high yield (81.8%). The highly significant mathematical models resulting from this study describe the dependence of the experimental responses on the reaction conditions and allow the characteristics and properties of the resulting TMCh to be defined by properly choosing the reaction conditions. © 2015 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are a heterogeneous group of cell-derived submicron vesicles released under physiological or pathological conditions. EVs mediate the cellular crosstalk, thus contributing to defining the tumor microenvironment, including in epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC). The available literature investigating the role of EVs in EOC has been reviewed following PRISMA guidelines, focusing on the role of EVs in early disease diagnosis, metastatic spread, and the development of chemoresistance in EOC. Data were identified from searches of Medline, Current Contents, PubMed, and from references in relevant articles from 2010 to 1 April 2020. The research yielded 194 results. Of these, a total of 36 papers, 9 reviews, and 27 original types of research were retained and analyzed. The literature findings demonstrate that a panel of EV-derived circulating miRNAs may be useful for early diagnosis of EOC. Furthermore, it appears clear that EVs are involved in mediating two crucial processes for metastatic and chemoresistance development: the epithelial–mesenchymal transition, and tumor escape from the immune system response. Further studies, more focused on in vivo evidence, are urgently needed to clarify the role of EV assessment in the clinical management of EOC patients.  相似文献

A new sillenite compound, Bi12(B0.5P0.5)O20, was synthesized using a solid-state reaction method. The stoichiometry was confirmed by XRD analyses, microstructural investigations, and quantitative elemental analysis. An investigation of the dielectric properties at frequencies from 100 Hz to 1 MHz revealed a broad, highly frequency-dispersive, relaxor-like dielectric anomaly, which appeared in the temperature range of −80°–100°C. The permittivity, Q × f value, and temperature coefficient of the resonant frequency, measured at ∼5.5 GHz, were determined to be 37.4, 850 GHz, and −19 ppm/K, respectively.  相似文献

In this paper the dielectric properties of crack‐free, Bi12SiO20 thin films were investigated. The films were prepared on Pt/TiO2/SiO2/Si and corundum substrates using the sol–gel method. The formation of a pure Bi12SiO20 phase was observed at a temperature of 700°C. The Bi12SiO20 thin films, heat treated at 700°C for 1 h, had a dense microstructure with an average roughness (Ra) of 50 nm. The dielectric properties of the film were characterized by using both low‐ and microwave‐frequency measurement techniques. The low‐frequency measurements were conducted with a parallel capacitor configuration. The dielectric constant and dielectric losses were 44 and 7.5 × 10?3, respectively. The thin‐film dielectric properties at the microwave frequency were measured using the split‐post, dielectric resonator method (15 GHz) and the planar capacitor configuration (1–5 GHz). The dielectric constant and the dielectric losses measured at 15 GHz were 40 and 17 × 10?3, respectively, while the dielectric constant and the dielectric losses measured with the planar capacitor configuration were 39 and 65 × 10?3, respectively.  相似文献

This work examines the synthesis and characterization of crack‐free, β‐Bi2O3 thin films prepared on Pt/TiO2/SiO2/Si or corundum substrates using the sol‐gel method. We observed that the Bi‐based precursor has a pronounced influence on the β‐Bi2O3 phase formation. Well‐crystallized, single β‐Bi2O3 thin films were obtained from Bi‐2ethylhexanoate at a temperature of 400°C. In contrast, thin films deposited from Bi‐nitrate and Bi‐acetate resulted in non‐single Bi2O3 phase formation. TEOS was used for the stabilization of the β‐Bi2O3 phase. The phase composition of the thin films was characterized by means of X‐ray diffraction (XRD), whereas the morphology and thickness of the thin films were studied using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The β‐Bi2O3 films' dielectric properties were characterized utilizing microwave‐frequency measurement techniques: (1) the split‐post dielectric resonator method (15 GHz) and (2) the planar capacitor configuration (1–5 GHz). The dielectric constant and dielectric loss measured at 15 GHz were 257 and 7.5 × 10?3, respectively.  相似文献

In this study we used solid-state synthesis to determine the phase relations in the pyrochlore-rich part of the Bi2O3−TiO2−Nd2O3 system at 1100°C. The samples were analyzed using X-ray powder diffraction and scanning electron microscopy with energy- and wavelength-dispersive spectroscopy. A single-phase pyrochlore ceramic was obtained with the addition of 4.5 mol% of Nd2O3. We determined the solubility limits for the three solid solutions: (i) the pyrochlore solid solution Bi(1.6–1.08 x )Nd x Ti2O(6.4+0.3 x ), where 0.25< x <0.96; (ii) the solid solution Bi4− x Nd x Ti3O12, where 0< x <2.6; and (iii) the Nd2− x Bi x Ti2O7 solid solution, where 0< x <0.35. The determined phase relations in the pyrochlore-rich part are presented in a partial phase diagram of the Bi2O3−TiO2−Nd2O3 system in air at 1100°C.  相似文献

Leishmaniasis is one of the most neglected diseases worldwide and is considered a serious public health issue. The current therapeutic options have several disadvantages that make the search for new therapeutics urgent. Gold compounds are emerging as promising candidates based on encouraging in vitro and limited in vivo results for several AuI and AuIII complexes. The antiparasitic mechanisms of these molecules remain only partially understood. However, a few studies have proposed the trypanothione redox system as a target, similar to the mammalian thioredoxin system, pointed out as the main target for several gold compounds with significant antitumor activity. In this review, we present the current status of the investigation and design of gold compounds directed at treating leishmaniasis. In addition, we explore potential targets in Leishmania parasites beyond the trypanothione system, taking into account previous studies and structure modulation performed for gold-based compounds.  相似文献

Nanoporous microtubes of a nickel-copper alloy were obtained from a Cu-44Ni-1Mn (wt%) commercial wire (200 μm diameter). A new synthesis method was established through three steps: 1) partial oxidation of the wire at 1173 K in air, 2) removal of the inner unoxidized core by chemical etching, 3) reduction in 10 bar hydrogen atmosphere. During oxidation, the segregation of Cu and Ni occurred because of their different diffusion coefficients in the corresponding oxides. As a consequence, pores were formed by Kirkendall effect and due to selective chemical etching of the different oxides. Additional porosity formed because of volume contraction during reduction with hydrogen. After reduction, the microtube shows a composition gradient from the inner wall (almost pure nickel) to the outer wall (almost pure copper). The process allowed to obtain microtubes with tuneable wall thickness and inner pores around 180 ± 80 nm. The morphological features developed suggest improved capillarity properties for applications in MEMS.  相似文献

The long-underestimated role of extracellular vesicles in cancer is now reconsidered worldwide by basic and clinical scientists, who recently highlighted novel and crucial activities of these moieties. Extracellular vesicles are now considered as king transporters of specific cargoes, including molecular components of parent cells, thus mediating a wide variety of cellular activities both in normal and neoplastic tissues. Here, we discuss the multifunctional activities and underlying mechanisms of extracellular vesicles in neuroblastoma, the most frequent common extra-cranial tumor in childhood. The ability of extracellular vesicles to cross-talk with different cells in the tumor microenvironment and to modulate an anti-tumor immune response, tumorigenesis, tumor growth, metastasis and drug resistance will be pinpointed in detail. The results obtained on the role of extracellular vesicles may represent a panel of suggestions potentially useful in practice, due to their involvement in the response to chemotherapy, and, moreover, their ability to predict resistance to standard therapies—all issues of clinical relevance.  相似文献
