Glutaraldehyde-polymerized bovine hemoglobin (PolyHbBv, trade name Oxyglobin), is a non-site-specific modified hemoglobin-based oxygen-carrying solution, developed for use in veterinary medicine. PolyHbBv was fractionated into four distinct tetrameric and multiple polytetrameric forms ranging in molecular mass (87.2-502.3 kDa) using size exclusion chromatography (SEC) and verified by laser light scattering. We evaluated the structural modification occurring in the fractionated mixture of PolyHbBv and assessed the functionality and redox stability of each fraction in relation to the mixture as a whole. Intramolecular cross-linking evaluation as performed by MALDI-MS and SEC under dissociating conditions revealed no-site-specific tetramer stabilization within the fractions; Intermolecular cross-linking was highly correlated with lysine and histidine modification as determined by amino acid composition analysis. While native unmodified hemoglobin, HbBv, PolyHbBv, and PolyHbBv fractions (F1-F4) revealed significant methionine oxidation, modification, or both, the critical betaMet55 located in the functionally plastic domains (alpha1-beta1 interface) of HbBv was unaltered. Moreover, neither of the two betaCys93 located in the highly plastic alpha1-beta2 interface were modified in PolyHbBv or in F1-F4. Our structural analysis also revealed that the reported loss in sensitivity to chloride in PolyHbBv could not be attributed to direct alteration of chloride ion binding amino acids. Structural modification imparted by glutaraldehyde resulted in nearly identical functional characteristics of PolyHbBv and its fractions with regard to oxygen equilibrium, ligand binding, and autoxidative kinetics.  相似文献

A Pythagorean fuzzy set, an extension of intuitionistic fuzzy sets, is very helpful in representing vague information that occurs in real world scenarios. The Dombi operators with operational parameters, have excellent flexibility. Due to the flexible nature of these Dombi operational parameters, this research paper introduces some new aggregation operators under Pythagorean fuzzy environment, including Pythagorean Dombi fuzzy weighted arithmetic averaging (PDFWAA) operator, Pythagorean Dombi fuzzy weighted geometric averaging (PDFWGA) operator, Pythagorean Dombi fuzzy ordered weighted arithmetic averaging operator and Pythagorean Dombi fuzzy ordered weighted geometric averaging operator. Further, this paper presents several advantageous characteristics, including idempotency, monotonicity, boundedness, reducibility and commutativity of preceding operators. By utilizing PDFWAA and PDFWGA operators, this article describes a multicriteria decision-making (MCDM) technique for solving MCDM problems. Finally, a numerical example related to selection of a leading textile industry is presented to illustrate the applicability of our proposed technique.  相似文献

Multi-temporal satellite imagery can provide valuable information on the patterns of vegetation growth over large spatial extents and long time periods, but corresponding ground-referenced biomass information is often difficult to acquire, especially at an annual scale. In this study, we test the relationship between annual biomass estimated using shrub growth rings and metrics of seasonal growth derived from Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) spectral vegetation indices (SVIs) for a small area of southern California chaparral to evaluate the potential for mapping biomass at larger spatial extents. These SVIs are related to the fraction of photosynthetically active radiation absorbed by the plant canopy, which varies throughout the growing season and is correlated with net primary productivity. The site had most recently burned in 2002, and annual biomass accumulation measurements were available from years 5 to 11 post-fire. We tested the metrics of seasonal growth using six SVIs: normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI), enhanced vegetation index (EVI), soil adjusted vegetation index (SAVI), normalized difference water index (NDWI), normalized difference infrared index 6 (NDII6), and vegetation atmospherically resistant index (VARI). Several of the seasonal growth metrics/SVI combinations exhibit a very strong relationship with annual biomass, and all SVIs show a strong relationship with annual biomass (R2 for base value time series metric ranging from 0.45 to 0.89). Although additional research is required to determine which of these metrics and SVIs are the most promising over larger spatial extents, this approach shows potential for mapping early post-fire biomass accumulation in chaparral at regional scales.  相似文献

Understanding the relationship between the growth and local emission of hybrid perovskite structures and the performance of the devices based on them demands attention. This study investigates the local structural and emission features of CH3NH3PbI3, CH3NH3PbBr3, and CH(NH2)2PbBr3 perovskite films deposited under different yet optimized conditions using X‐ray scattering and cathodoluminescence spectroscopy, respectively. X‐ray scattering shows that a CH3NH3PbI3 film involving spin coating of CH3NH3I instead of dipping is composed of perovskite structures exhibiting a preferred orientation with [202] direction perpendicular to the surface plane. The device based on the CH3NH3PbI3 film composed of oriented crystals yields a relatively higher photovoltage. In the case of CH3NH3PbBr3, while the crystallinity decreases when the HBr solution is used in a single‐step method, the photovoltage enhancement from 1.1 to 1.46 V seems largely stemming from the morphological improvements, i.e., a better connection between the crystallites due to a higher nucleation density. Furthermore, a high photovoltage of 1.47 V obtained from CH(NH2)2PbBr3 devices could be attributed to the formation of perovskite films displaying uniform cathodoluminescence emission. The comparative analysis of the local structural, morphological, and emission characteristics of the different perovskite films supports the higher photovoltage yielded by the relatively better performing devices.  相似文献

Among the most well‐established live media distribution technologies is content delivery network (CDN), which improves user‐perceived quality of service by delivering content from proxy servers deployed at the Internet's edge. In recent years, CDN providers started to tap into their subscribers' peer‐to‐peer (P2P) capacity to alleviate their server costs. Under the inherent peer dynamics, a major challenge of these hybrid CDN‐P2P systems is to provide efficient failure recovery with good quality of service guarantees at a reduced server cost. In this work we propose a cost‐effective failover solution named CDNPatch to address the aforementioned problem. CDNPatch enables peers to periodically precompute a few backup content suppliers by efficient information exchange and maintenance algorithms, and leverages auxiliary CDN servers and an economic server provisioning algorithm to reduce the chance of playback interruption occurring to peers. Our simulation results show that CDNPatch can mask the impact of peer dynamics of 3 real P2P systems, namely, SOPCast, PPStream, and PPTV, with 100 % failure recovery success rate and a failure recovery time less than 1 second at a cost of small P2P communication overhead of less than 1 kilobits per second, while using only 10%, 21%, and 51%, respectively, of the pure CDN scheme's server consumption.  相似文献

Abstract

The inclusion of nanotechnologies in aquaculture and seafood preservation confronts a new edge that deserves attention in the recent trends of global food sector. Nanotechnology, being a novel and innovative approach has paved way to open up new perspective for the analysis of biomolecules, targeted drug delivery, protein or cells, clinical diagnosis, development of non-viral vectors for gene therapy, as transport vehicle for DNA, disease therapeutics etc. The current and potential use of nanotechnology would show the way to progression of smart and high performing fish. The comparative evaluation of extremely sophisticated nanotechnology with conventional process engineering proposes new prospectus in technological developments for superior water and wastewater technology processes. Nanoparticles have comprehensive advantages for management of drugs as liberation of vaccines and therefore hold the assurance for civilized protection of farmed fish against disease-causing pathogens. This review article explores the present concerns of food security, climate change as well as sustainability that are explored by the researchers in the area of nanotechnology, development of marine produce, along with its preservation and aquaculture.  相似文献

This article describes a decomposition methodology for the kinematic synthesis of tendon‐driven manipulators (TDMs). Based on the QR factorization, the complex transformation between vectors in the tendon‐space and the joint‐space of an n‐DOF TDM with n+1 tendons is decomposed as a two‐step transformation. An orientation matrix is used to characterize the vector transformation between the (n+1)‐dimensional tendon‐space and the n‐dimensional intermediate equivalent tendon‐space. An equivalent structure matrix is also introduced for the vector transformation between the n‐dimensional equivalent tendon‐space and n‐dimensional joint‐space. Design equations for synthesizing a TDM to possess kinematic isotropic transmission characteristics with proper tendon routing and pulley sizes are derived. ©1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Prior service chaining systems address server and network load balancing issues individually, which may not ensure efficient system performance. To this end, in this paper, we study the design, implementation, complexity analysis, and evaluation of Nearest First and Local‐Global Transformation algorithm, which jointly supports server and network load balancing for chaining virtualized network functions (VNFs) in data center environment. The algorithm firstly constructs service chains by a greedy strategy, which both considers server and network latency. Then a searching technique, which replaces a selected VNF with another candidate and swaps the order of VNFs in service chains, is applied to improve the solutions. We have implemented the algorithm using Software‐defined networking and OpenFlow concepts. The numerical results indicate that, compared with a sequential approach, Nearest First and Local‐Global Transformation increases the system bandwidth utilization up to 45%. The results also show that it is worth applying the second phase of our algorithm since it considerably enhances the system performance by 20%.  相似文献
