The amount of data being produced is increasing constantly, as the number and variety of connected devices are growing and the advances in data storage and mining are supporting this evolution. However, storing and handling high quantities of data is challenging the current Relational Database Management Systems. Big Data and its related products came to help in this matter, and the NoSQL databases arise with the purpose to offer better solutions and features to handle massive amounts of data with higher performance, sometimes near real-time. The present study presents the NoSQL databases scenario and background, and elaborates a detailed study with the characteristics, a features comparison and a performance evaluation of three different NoSQL databases extensively used in the market nowadays: Couchbase, MongoDB and RethinkDB. Tests were performed in two different scenarios: single thread and multiple threads. The results reveal that Couchbase had a better performance at most of the operations, except for retrieving multiple documents and inserting documents with multiple threads, operations in which MongoDB scored better.  相似文献

In the last few years, the appealing features of cloud computing have been fueling the integration of cloud environments in the industry, which has been consequently motivating the research on related technologies by both the industry and the academia. The possibility of paying-as-you-go mixed with an on-demand elastic operation is changing the enterprise computing model, shifting on-premises infrastructures to off-premises data centers, accessed over the Internet and managed by cloud hosting providers. Regardless of its advantages, the transition to this computing paradigm raises security concerns, which are the subject of several studies. Besides of the issues derived from Web technologies and the Internet, clouds introduce new issues that should be cleared out first in order to further allow the number of cloud deployments to increase. This paper surveys the works on cloud security issues, making a comprehensive review of the literature on the subject. It addresses several key topics, namely vulnerabilities, threats, and attacks, proposing a taxonomy for their classification. It also contains a thorough review of the main concepts concerning the security state of cloud environments and discusses several open research topics.  相似文献

The effect of the equal-channel angular pressing (ECAP) process on the pitting corrosion behavior of ultrafine-grained aluminum was evaluated based on statistical analysis. The microstructural evolution, mechanical properties, and corrosion behavior were investigated. ECAP breakdowns/redistributes intermetallic particles, which contributes to a decrease in the local chemical heterogeneity. Higher average pitting potential (Epit) values were observed after processing, but this improvement was neither significant nor sequential with each ECAP pass. Finally, the statistical analysis of the data and their dispersion did not lead to the conclusion that ECAP improves the corrosion resistance of aluminum, in view of the widely varying Epit values observed.  相似文献

Multidrug resistance (MDR) is one of the major factors in the failure of many chemotherapy approaches. In cancer cells, MDR is mainly associated with the expression of ABC transporters such as P-glycoprotein, MRP1 and ABCG2. Despite major efforts to develop new selective and potent inhibitors of ABC drug transporters, no ABCG2-specific inhibitors for clinical use are yet available. Here, we report the evaluation of sixteen tetrahydroquinoline/4,5-dihydroisoxazole derivatives as a new class of ABCG2 inhibitors. The affinity of the five best inhibitors was further investigated by the vanadate-sensitive ATPase assay. Molecular modelling data, proposing a potential binding mode, suggest that they can inhibit the ABCG2 activity by binding on site S1, previously reported as inhibitors binding region, as well targeting site S2, a selective region for substrates, and by specifically interacting with residues Asn436, Gln398, and Leu555. Altogether, this study provided new insights into THQ/4,5-dihydroisoxazole molecular hybrids, generating great potential for the development of novel most potent ABCG2 inhibitors.  相似文献

Urban and peri-urban agriculture (UPA) has often been accused of being nutrient inefficient and producing negative externalities. To investigate these problems for the West African capital Niamey (Niger), nutrient inputs through fertilizer and manure to 10 vegetable gardens and 9 millet fields and nutrient offtakes through harvests were quantified during 24 months, and contamination of irrigation water and selected vegetables with faecal pathogens and heavy metals was determined. Annual partial horizontal balances for carbon (C), nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) amounted to 9,936 kg C ha−1, 1,133 kg N ha−1, 223 kg P ha−1 and 312 kg K ha−1 in high input vegetable gardens as opposed to 9,580 kg C ha−1, 290 kg N ha−1, 125 kg P ha−1 and 351 kg K ha−1 in low input gardens. In high input millet fields, annual surpluses of 259 kg C ha−1, 126 kg N ha−1, 20 kg P ha−1 and 0.4 kg K ha−1 were recorded, whereas surpluses of 12 kg C ha−1, 17 kg N ha−1, and deficits of −3 kg P ha−1 and −3 kg K ha−1 were determined for low input fields. Counts of Salmonella spp. and Escherichia coli yielded above threshold contamination levels of 7.2 × 104 CFU 25 g−1 and 3.9 × 104 CFU g−1 in lettuce irrigated with river water and fertilized with animal manure. Salmonella counts averaged 9.8 × 104 CFU 25 g−1 and E. coli 0.6 × 104 CFU g−1 for lettuce irrigated with wastewater, while these pathogens were not detected on vegetables irrigated with pond water. These results underline the need for urban gardeners to better adjust the nutrients applied to crop requirements which might also reduce nutrient accumulations in the soil and further in the edibles parts of the vegetables. Appropriate pre-treatment of irrigation water would help improve the quality of the latter and enhance the food safety of vegetables determined for the urban markets.  相似文献

We examine transients caused by sudden changes in heat load in a naturally ventilated chamber. The space we consider has an isolated heat source, modeled as an ideal plume, and is connected to the exterior via openings at the top and bottom. Pressure differences between the exterior and interior that arise due to the buoyancy in the space drive a natural ventilation flow through the space that generates a two-layer system with buoyant (warm) fluid in the upper layer and ambient fluid in the lower layer. We develop two mathematical models, one assuming perfect mixing of each layer, the other accounting for stratification. We compare both models to small scale laboratory experiments. Neither model is significantly better than the other, and both give good agreement with the experiments.  相似文献

Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a prevalent movement disorder characterized by the progressive loss of dopaminergic neurons in substantia nigra pars compacta (SNpc). The 6-hydroxydopamine (6-OHDA) lesion is still one of the most widely used techniques for modeling Parkinson’s disease (PD) in rodents. Despite commonly used in rats, it can be challenging to reproduce a similar lesion in mice. Moreover, there is a lack of characterization of the extent of behavioral deficits and of the neuronal loss/neurotransmitter system in unilateral lesion mouse models. In this study, we present an extensive behavioral and histological characterization of a unilateral intrastriatal 6-OHDA mouse model. Our results indicate significant alterations in balance and fine motor coordination, voluntary locomotion, and in the asymmetry’s degree of forelimb use in 6-OHDA lesioned animals, accompanied by a decrease in self-care and motivational behavior, common features of depressive-like symptomatology. These results were accompanied by a decrease in tyrosine hydroxylase (TH)-labelling and dopamine levels within the nigrostriatal pathway. Additionally, we also identify a marked astrocytic reaction, as well as proliferative and reactive microglia in lesioned areas. These results confirm the use of unilateral intrastriatal 6-OHDA mice for the generation of a mild model of nigrostriatal degeneration and further evidences the recapitulation of key aspects of PD, thereby being suitable for future studies beholding new therapeutical interventions for this disease.  相似文献

(1) The neurotrophic protein S100B is a marker of brain injury and has been associated with neuroregeneration. In S100Btg mice rendering 12 copies of the murine S100B gene we evaluated whether S100B may serve as a treatment option. (2) In juvenile, adult, and one-year-old S100Btg mice (female and male; n = 8 per group), progenitor cell proliferation was quantified in the subgranular zone (SGZ) and the granular cell layer (GCL) of the dentate gyrus with the proliferative marker Ki67 and BrdU (50 mg/kg). Concomitant signaling was quantified utilizing glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP), apolipoprotein E (ApoE), brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), and the receptor for advanced glycation end products (RAGE) immunohistochemistry. (3) Progenitor cell proliferation in the SGZ and migration to the GCL was enhanced. Hippocampal GFAP was reduced in one-year-old S100Btg mice. ApoE in the hippocampus and frontal cortex of male and BDNF in the frontal cortex of female S100Btg mice was reduced. RAGE was not affected. (4) Enhanced hippocampal neurogenesis in S100Btg mice was not accompanied by reactive astrogliosis. Sex- and brain region-specific variations of ApoE and BDNF require further elucidations. Our data reinforce the importance of this S100Btg model in evaluating the role of S100B in neuroregenerative medicine.  相似文献

Internal users are the main causes of anomalous and suspicious behaviors in a communication network. Even when traditional security middleboxes are present, internal attacks may lead the network to outages or to leakage of sensitive information. In this article, we propose BroFlow, an Intrusion Detection and Prevention System based on Bro traffic analyzer and on the global network view of the software-defined networks (SDN) which is provided by the OpenFlow. BroFlow main contributions are (i) dynamic and elastic resource provision of traffic-analyzing machines under demand; (ii) real-time detection of DoS attacks through simple algorithms implemented in a policy language for network events; (iii) immediate reaction to DoS attacks, dropping malicious flows close of their sources, and (iv) near-optimal placement of sensors through a proposed heuristic for strategically positioning sensors in the network infrastructure, which is shared by multi-tenants, with a minimum number of sensors. We developed a prototype of the proposed system, and we evaluated it in a virtual environment of the Future Internet Testbed with Security (FITS). An evaluation of the system under attack shows that BroFlow guarantees the forwarding of legitimate packets at the maximal link rate, reducing up to 90 % of the maximal network delay caused by the attack. BroFlow reaches 50 % of bandwidth gain when compared with conventional firewalls approaches, even when the attackers are legitimate tenants acting in collusion. In addition, the system reduces the sensors number, while keeping full coverage of network flows.  相似文献
