Aim: The aim was to compare the microleakage of resin composite bonded with different adhesive systems in class-II cavities at enamel or dentine margins. Material and methods: 60 extracted human molar teeth received slot cavity preparations on mesial and distal surfaces (mesial cervical margin was prepared in enamel and distal in dentine). They were randomly divided into five groups (n?=?12) according to the adhesive system: Group-A: Silorane Bond (S), Group-B: Adper Single Bond 2 (SB), Group-C: Clearfil SE Bond (CSE), Group-D: Single Bond Universal (USel) (selective etch-and-rinse), Group-E: Single Bond Universal (USE) (all-in-one). The preparations were restored using the same resin composite (Filtek Ultimate) except Group A which was restored by Silorane composite. The teeth were thermocycled, immersed in dye, sectioned, and dye penetration was evaluated quantitatively using image analysis. The data were analyzed using the two-way analysis of variance and Bonferroni test. Results: In all groups, there was no statistically significant difference between enamel margins at occlusal and gingival sites (p?>?0.05). The statistical difference between Group-A (S) and Group-B (SB) was significant at all margins. Group-B (SB) presented the greatest microleakage amounts at all margins and the highest scores were obtained in the dentine. Likewise, SB demonstrated statistically significant differences between dentine and enamel margins (occlusal and gingival)(p?<?0.05). Conclusion: All adhesive systems showed similar microleakage values between enamel margins in occlusal and gingival regions. However, when the gingival margin is located in the dentine, etch&rinse adhesive systems may not be a choice in terms of microleakage prevention.  相似文献

In the present paper, boron removal from aqueous solutions by batch adsorption was investigated and 2(3) full factorial design was applied. Calcined alunite was used as adsorbent. In the study, three parameters affected the performance and two levels of these parameters were investigated. The chosen parameters were temperature (25 and 45 degrees C, respectively), pH (3 and 10) and mass of adsorbent (0.5 g adsorbent per 25 mL solution and 1g adsorbent per 25 mL solution). The significance of the effects was checked by analysis of variance (statistical software, MINITAB-Version 15). The model-function equation for boron adsorption on calcined alunite was obtained. The results showed that temperature, pH and mass of adsorbent affected boron removal by adsorption. Boron removal increased with increasing pH and adsorbent dosage, but decreased with increasing temperature. The optimum conditions were found as pH 10, adsorbent dosage=1g of calcined alunite per 25 mL solution and temperature=25 degrees C by using factorial design. In addition, the effects of parameters such as calcination temperature, pH, temperature, adsorbent dosage and initial boron concentration on boron removal were investigated. The adsorption isotherm studies were also performed. Maximum adsorbent capacity (q(0)) was calculated as 3.39 mg/g. Thermodynamic parameters such as change in free energy (DeltaG degrees), enthalpy (DeltaH degrees) and entropy (DeltaS degrees) were also determined.  相似文献

A natural bentonite modified with a cationic surfactant, cetyl trimethylammonium bromide (CTAB), was used as an adsorbent for removal of phenol from aqueous solutions. The natural and modified bentonites (organobentonite) were characterized with some instrumental techniques (FTIR, XRD and SEM). Adsorption studies were performed in a batch system, and the effects of various experimental parameters such as solution pH, contact time, initial phenol concentration, organobentonite concentration, and temperature, etc. were evaluated upon the phenol adsorption onto organobentonite. Maximum phenol removal was observed at pH 9.0. Equilibrium was attained after contact of 1 h only. The adsorption isotherms were described by Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models, and both model fitted well. The monolayer adsorption capacity of organobentonite was found to be 333 mg g−1. Desorption of phenol from the loaded adsorbent was achieved by using 20% acetone solution. The kinetic studies indicated that the adsorption process was best described by the pseudo-second-order kinetics (R2 > 0.99). Thermodynamic parameters including the Gibbs free energy (ΔG°), enthalpy (ΔH°), and entropy (ΔS°) were also calculated. These parameters indicated that adsorption of phenol onto organobentonite was feasible, spontaneous and exothermic in the temperature range of 0–40 °C.  相似文献

The effect of the antioxidant activity of rosemary extract on marinated deep-water pink shrimp (Parapenaeus longirostris Lucas, 1846) stored at 1 °C was investigated. Chemical, physical, instrumental, microbiological and sensory analyses were performed to investigate the quality changes and to determine the shelf-life of marinated shrimps. Chemical composition of the shrimp was determined and no significant difference (P > 0.05) was found between the control group (without rosemary extract) and the experimental group (with rosemary extract). Both groups contained 2% citric acid. There was no significant difference (P > 0.05) between the sensory analysis of control and experimental groups on storage days 0, 15, 30, 45 and 60 while rancidity was noted by the panelists in the control group on day 75. The TBA value of the control group reached the consumption limit on day 75 but it was still ‘very good’ for the experimental group. Although the bacterial load of both groups were lower than the consumption limits on storage day 75, TBA value limited the shelf-life of the control group but the experimental group was still of good quality for consumption after 75 days.  相似文献

The influence of drying methods on the aroma active volatiles of sun-dried tarhana (SDT) and vacuum-dried tarhana (VDT) were compared using headspace SPME, GC-O and GC-MS. Although vacuum drying reduced the total amount of volatiles as compared to SDT (total FID peak area), more aroma active material was retained with VDT (total olfactory peak area). Vacuum drying retained a greater number of aroma active components (41) whereas the sun-dried method retained only 23. Aldehydes were the largest single class of aroma compounds in both types of tarhana: 17 in VDT and 10 in SDT. Other differentiating aroma compounds include alcohols, terpenes, and phenols such as geraniol, terpinolene, and 4-vinylguaiacol among others. A total of 22 aroma active components were present in greater amounts in the VDT versus only four aroma compounds present in greater amounts in the SDT.  相似文献

Novel electroconductive polymeric films with enhanced mechanical performance were fabricated by encapsulating reduced graphene oxide (RGO) at different concentrations (0–50 vol %) into a hyaluronic acid/gelatin/poly(ethylene oxide) (HyA/Gel/PEO) polymeric structure. The obtained RGO-reinforced polymeric films were characterized by Fourier transform infrared and scanning electron microscopy analyses. Mechanical performances were measured with a universal mechanical testing machine. The results verified that the RGO reinforcement significantly enhanced the mechanical performances of the films. To determine the biocompatibility of the polymeric films, L929 (murine fibroblast) cell lines were used. The water uptake capacities were measured using swelling tests. A four-probe method was used to measure conductivity characteristics. The conductivity results indicated that HyA/Gel/PEO film containing 20 vol % RGO has the highest average electrical conductivity (1.832 × 10−6 S/cm). All of the results demonstrated that the obtained electroconductive films could be used in biomedical fields in the future, especially in controlled drug release systems and tissue engineering. © 2018 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Anodes, which provide the carbon required for aluminum production, are made from dry aggregates (petroleum coke, rejected anodes, and butts) with coal tar pitch as the binder. Good quality anodes require good interaction between coke and pitch, and this relies on good wetting properties. The objectives of this work are to analyze the wetting properties of four different cokes with and without modification using an additive and to test the effect of the modified coke on anode properties. A FTIR study was done to identify functional groups in non‐modified and modified coke samples since they play an important role on coke‐pitch interactions. The wetting tests were done using the sessile‐drop method to measure the contact angle between coke and pitch. The results showed that the additive improved the wettability of all four cokes by pitch. The least wettable coke was chosen to produce anodes. For anode production, the entire dry aggregate is modified. The additive was mixed with the dry aggregate using two different approaches (one day earlier and 5 min before mixing). The anodes were characterized before and after baking. The early treatment with the additive was found to be better for the modification of dry aggregate.
