One of the greatest challenges while working on image segmentation algorithms is a comprehensive measure to evaluate their accuracy. Although there are some measures for doing this task, but they can consider only one aspect of segmentation in evaluation process. The performance of evaluation measures can be improved using a combination of single measures. However, combination of single measures does not always lead to an appropriate criterion. Besides its effectiveness, the efficiency of the new measure should be considered. In this paper, a new and combined evaluation measure based on genetic programming (GP) has been sought. Because of the nature of evolutionary approaches, the proposed approach allows nonlinear and linear combinations of other single evaluation measures and can search within many and different combinations of basic operators to find a good enough one. We have also proposed a new fitness function to make GP enable to search within search space effectively and efficiently. To test the method, Berkeley and Weizmann datasets besides several different experiments have been used. Experimental results demonstrate that the GP based approach is suitable for effective combination of single evaluation measures.  相似文献

This study focuses on numerical modelling of rockfill material with the discrete element method (DEM). This method was used due to the special features of rockfill material, such as intense particle breakage and high contracting behaviour, which are inherently due to large particle size. Because the DEM models the interaction of separate elements, it is capable of modelling discrete structures of granular materials and particle breakage. The model used in this study uses PFC2D and considers breakable clumps. To validate the presented model for rockfill material, numerical single crushing tests and triaxial tests on the Purulia dam’s material were simulated. Due to the size-dependant crushing strength being involved in the breakage criterion, and also considering particle confinement, size-dependant and stress level-dependant behaviour was successfully simulated on modelled rockfill material. The variation of the sample’s particle grading from before the biaxial tests and after shear failure occurred was reported. The obtained results demonstrate the accuracy of the adopted model and the model’s capability for considering a rockfill material’s strength, deformation and crushing behaviour.  相似文献

The key role of colour in ergonomics has been emphasized by a number of researchers and design professionals. Although several research studies have been published regarding the use of colour in ergonomics, there are still some areas that need to be considered. The issue of deciding a “colour of the year” is an example, which represents a new challenge for researchers in the field of ergonomics. This is of particular interest considering the fact that the nature of research on the selection of a “colour of the year” is generally based on user experience. This paper argues that ergonomics should play a more prominent role in this field to ensure better user experience and performance. A parametric analytical study is carried out to scrutinize the mechanism of fluid flow, heat transfer and entropy generation in a low-speed rarefied gaseous flow confined between a shaft and its concentric housing, i.e., the cylindrical Couette flow. In the first law analysis, closed form solutions for the radial temperature profiles are obtained by incorporating the calculated velocity distribution into the energy equation. The derivations for three thermal cases, which are founded on imposing different thermal conditions, namely, the Uniform Heat Flux (UHF) and the Constant Wall Temperature (CWT) boundary conditions, are presented. In the second law analysis, the contributions of thermal diffusion and fluid friction irreversibility to the total entropy generation in the micro domain are illustrated, and the relevant expressions for the Bejan number and the entropy generation number as well as the average entropy generation rate are derived. Finally, the variations of major variables with influential parameters such as the Knudsen number, the Brinkman number and rotation mode are investigated to elucidate the associated effects of rarefaction phenomenon, viscous dissipation and geometric condition on the characteristics of the flow.  相似文献

In this paper the effects of a magnetic field on mixed convection flow in a two‐sided lid‐driven cavity have been analyzed by the lattice Boltzmann method (LBM). The Hartmann number varied from Ha = 0 to 100. The study has been conducted for different Richardson numbers (Ri) from 0.01 to 100 while the direction of the magnetic field was investigated in the x‐direction. Consequences demonstrate that the heat transfer augments with an increment of the Richardson number for different Hartmann numbers for two cases. The heat transfer declines with the growth of the magnetic field for various Richardson numbers for two cases. The difference between the values of heat transfer for the two cases at variant parameters is negligible but the trend of fluid flow for the two cases is multifarious. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Toughness is an important property for being used in steels in engineering applications. In this research, tensile toughness of 45WCrV7 steel was measured and calculated in 10 different processing conditions. The results of tensile test showed that two samples had maximum tensile toughness. Microstructural studies demonstrated that the required condition for high tensile toughness was simultaneous increase in two microstructural factors named content and population density of the secondary carbides because a matrix which was poor of carbon and alloying elements was softened and thus increased total tensile toughness.  相似文献

Steady solutions of a fourth-order partial differential equation modeling the spreading of a thin film including the effects of surface shear, gravity, and surface tension are considered. The resulting fourth-order ordinary differential equation is transformed into a canonical third-order ordinary differential equation. When transforming the problem into standard form the position of the contact line becomes an eigenvalue of the physical problem. Asymptotic and numerical solutions of the resulting eigenvalue problem are investigated. The eigenvalue formulation of the steady problem yields a maximum value of the contact angle of 63.4349?.  相似文献

The present article solves the couple equations of a spherical solid particle’s motion in plane coquette fluid flow by using the HPM-Padé technique which is a combination of the Homotopy Perturbation Method (HPM) and Padé approximation. The series solutions of the couple equations are developed. Generally, the truncated series solution is adequately in a small region and to overcome this limitation, the Padé techniques which have the advantage of turning the polynomial approximation into a rational function, are applied to the series solution to improve the accuracy and enlarge the convergence domain. The current results compared with those derived from HPM and the established fourth order Runge–Kutta method in order to ascertain the accuracy of the proposed method. It is found that this method can achieve more suitable results in comparison to HPM.  相似文献
