The polypyrrole (PPy) and polypyrrole‐Au (PPy‐Au) nanocomposite films have been sonoelectrochemically synthesized on St‐12 steel electrodes using the galvanostatic technique. Experimental design according to the Taguchi method has been applied to optimize the factors on the synthesis of PPy‐Au nanocomposite coating. Three factors were used to design an orthogonal array L9: Synthesis time (t), Current density (I), and Concentration of HAuCl4 (C). The synthesized Au nanoparticles during polymerization were characterized by Ultraviolet–visible (UV‐visible) spectroscopy. Characterization of the surfaces was done by scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy dispersive X‐ray spectrum (EDX), and atomic force microscope (AFM). The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) image of PPy shows a smooth surface while PPy‐Au nanocomposite film has a compact morphology. Moreover, energy dispersive X‐ray spectrum (EDX) is evidence for the incorporation of Au nanoparticles. The corrosion protection of coatings was investigated by open circuit potential (OCP) time trends, potentiodynamic polarization technique, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) in a NaCl 3.5% solution. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The cubic equation of state (CEoS) is a powerful method for calculation of (vapor + liquid) equilibrium (VLE) in polymer solutions. Using CEoS for both the vapor and liquid phases allows one to calculate the non‐ideality of polymer solutions based on a single EoS approach. In this research, vapor–liquid equilibria calculations of polyvinyl acetate (PVAc)/solvent solutions were performed. In this approach, eight models containing PRSV and SRK CEoS separately combined with four mixing rules namely vdW1, vdW2, Wong–Sandler (WS), and Zhong–Masuoka (ZM) were applied to calculations of bubble point pressure. For the better prediction, the adjustable binary interaction parameters existing in any mixing rule were optimized. The results were very acceptable and satisfactory. Absolute average deviations (%AAD) between predicted results and experimental bubble point pressure data were calculated and presented. The capability of two cubic equations of state had a good agreement with experimental data and predict the correct type of phase behavior in all cases, but the performance of the PRSV + vdW2 was more reliable than the other models with 2.65% in AAD for total of solution systems. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. This paper investigates the hydrodynamic behavior of gas–solid two-phase flow in the annular space of an air drilling well under different arrangements by using three-dimensional approach. Two-fluid model is used to solve the governing equations in the Eulerian–Eulerian framework. Effect of eccentricity and drill pipe rotation on the pressure drop, volume fraction and velocity profile are examined. The results are compared with available data in the literature and good agreement is found. The results show that the presence of solid particles in the annulus change the air velocity profile significantly and create two off-center peaks velocity close to the walls instead of one peak velocity in the middle. Eccentricity of drill pipe makes more accumulation of the cuttings in the smaller space of the annulus. Increasing the eccentricity increases pressure drop due to impact of particles with annulus wall and also particles collision with each other. Rotation of the drill pipe shifts maximum air velocity location toward smaller space of the annulus which results more uniform cutting distributions in the annulus and improvement in their transportations. Pressure drop in the annulus increases as eccentricity and rotation of drill pipe increase.  相似文献

Gas holdup and gas–liquid mass transfer coefficient were considered in an external airlift reactor. Air was sparged through some aliphatic alcohols (methanol, ethanol, n-propanol, and n-butanol) with different concentrations (0–1%, v/v). It was observed that gas holdup and mass transfer coefficient increased with increasing the number of carbons in alcohols. Furthermore, an increment in alcohols concentration increased gas holdup and mass transfer coefficient. The same behavior was observed in external and internal loop airlift reactors although gas holdup and mass transfer coefficient values were less than those of internal airlift reactor. According to the experiments, two correlations for gas holdup and mass transfer were developed.  相似文献

To overcome complexities and shortcomings of previous studies, a new method is proposed to derive an equivalent linear model for predicting seismic hysteretic energy demand of bilinear single degree of freedom (SDOF) models. A new displacement spectrum is defined, which represents hysteretic energy. It is found that by increasing initial period and damping of a nonlinear system in the correct proportion and defining a linear model with these characteristics, the new developed displacement can be achieved. Error minimization is applied through an algorithm to find the optimum equivalent period corresponding to an equivalent damping utilizing two sets of far‐field and near‐field earthquakes. To analyze the effects of stiffness degradation, the proposed algorithm has been implemented on modified Clough hysteretic model as well. Comparing the results, effects of stiffness degradation on the ratio of equivalent to initial period is evident in the short period range, while with increasing initial period, the effect can almost be neglected at higher values of ductility. Nonlinear regression analysis is carried out to provide the equations for predicting equivalent linear parameters as a function of ductility. Despite the previous predictive equations, the proposed model is independent of earthquake characteristics and response‐related parameters, which has increased efficiency as well as simplicity.  相似文献

The main purpose of this work was the modification of NaX nanozeolite using copper oxide nanoparticles and various monovalent cations such as K~+, Cs~+, and Ag~+in order to make the negatively charged zeolite surface accessible for anionic forms of uranium which are the most dominant species of uranium in the contaminated radioactive waters at natural p H. Various methods such as the X-ray fluorescence(XRF), X-ray powder diffraction(XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy(FE-SEM), transmission electron microscopy(TEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR), and atomic absorption spectroscopy(AAS) were used to characterize the final synthesized absorbents. Batch technique was used to study the adsorption behavior of uranium ions from polluted drinking water by Na X nanozeolite and its modified forms. In order to better understand the performance of them, the results were compared with those that were obtained for synthesizing bulk NaX zeolite and Na-form of clinoptilolite natural zeolite. Preliminary results indicated that uranium sorption increased as the loading level of CuO nanoparticles on NaX nanozeolite increased from 2.1 wt% to 11.2 wt%. In addition,from the obtained data, an increase in uranium removal efficiency resulted as charge/ionic radius ratio of exchanged cation decreased. Also, the effect of contact time, solid–liquid ratio, initial concentration and temperature on the adsorption process was studied. It is worth mentioning that, in this study, the sorption of uranium was performed under natural conditions of pH and the presence of competing cations and anions which are available in drinking waters.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the periodic solutions for the free vibration of a conservative oscillator with fifth-order nonlinearity using two new methods, the energy balance method and the variational approach. We compare the results obtained with those yielded by the traditional harmonic balance method and equivalent linearization–nonlinearization method. A numerical study of unsteady mixed convection flows through an alumina-water nanofluid in a square cavity with inlet and outlet ports due to incoming flow oscillation is performed. It is found that an oscillating velocity at the inlet port cased to creating a periodic variation in the fluid flow and temperature field in the cavity after a certain time duration. The influence of the nanoparticle on the flow and temperature fields has been plotted and discussed. The effect of the oscillation frequency is concealed in a dimensionless number which is the Strouhal number. It is observed that the heat transfer is enhanced for all the Strouhal and Richardson numbers investigated by adding the nanoparticle to the base fluid. It is also found that the performance of the nanoparticle on the enhancement of the heat transfer at higher Richardson numbers is less than that of lower Richardson numbers.  相似文献
