The degradation of end-to-end quality of service (QoS) on mobile users is becoming a common issue for IEEE 802.11 infrastructure-based networks in crowded areas. This research tackles the issue by employing an SDN framework on an integrated wireless/wired environment. Thereby, we present the development and implementation of a system that performs user management by analyzing the network load from the OpenFlow statistics, as well as the wireless information collected from the associated users. In order to analyse the behaviour of the proposed user migration algorithm, we evaluate the system under scenarios with different traffic load and user session duration. From the experiments, we observed that in several cases wireless users get a considerable QoS improvement at the application layer (up to 30% improvement in throughput and up to 20% in delay in our simulations) once the system is activated. Based on the results, we present an analysis on how and when user migration in multi-access point IEEE 802.11 networks can be most effective.  相似文献

This paper presents a new thermogenerator based on moderate-temperature (up to 175°C) BiTe modules available on the open market. Despite this handicap relative to commercial thermogenerators based on high-temperature proprietary-technology PbBi modules (up to 560°C), this new design may become economically competitive due to its innovative thermal sink. Our thermal sink is based on a free-convection water loop built with standard tubing and household hot-water radiators, leading to a more practical, modular design. So, the specific cost of about 55,000 USD/kW obtained for this 120-W prototype is improved to 33,000 USD/kW for a 1-kW unit, which represents about half the price of commercial thermogenerators. Moreover, considering recently launched BiTe modules (that withstand up to 320°C), our proposition could have an even more favorable outlook.  相似文献

The synthesis and application of a novel reversible addition‐fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) agent carrying a photocaged thioaldehyde moiety is described (λmax = 355 nm). RAFT polymerization of styrene, dimethylacrylamide and a glycomonomer is evidenced (3600 g mol?1Mn ≤ 15 000 g mol?1; 1.07 ≤ ? ≤ 1.20) with excellent end‐group fidelity. The photogenerated thioaldehyde on the chain ends can undergo hetero Diels–Alder reactions with dienes as well as reactions with nucleophiles. The terminal photoreactive polymers are photografted to porous diene‐reactive polymeric microspheres. The grafted particles are in‐depth characterized via scanning electron microscopy, elemental analysis, X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and high resolution FT‐IR microscopy, leading to a qualitative as well as quantitative image of the core–shell objects. Grafting densities up to 0.10 molecules nm?2 are reached. The versatility of the thioaldehyde ligation is evidenced by spatially resolved grafting of polystyrene onto nucleophilic groups present in poly (dopamine) (PDA)‐coated glass slides and silicon wafers via two‐photon direct laser writing (DLW) imaged by ToF‐SIMS. The combination of thioaldehyde ligation, RAFT polymerization, and DLW allows for the spatially resolved grafting of a vast range of polymers onto various substrates in any desired pattern with sub‐micrometer resolution.  相似文献

Amorphous and polycrystalline Sn‐doped IrO2 thin films, Ir1‐xSnxO2, are grown for the first time. Their electrical response and strength of the spin–orbit coupling are studied in order to better understand and tailor its performance as spin current detector material. These experiments prove that the resistivity of IrO2 can be tuned over several orders of magnitude by controlling the doping content in both the amorphous and the polycrystalline state. In addition, growing amorphous samples increase the resistivity, thus improving the spin current to charge current conversion. As far as the spin–orbit coupling is concerned, the system not only remains in a strong spin–orbit coupling regime but it seems to undergo a slight enhancement in the amorphous state as well as in the Sn‐doped samples.  相似文献

Image pre-processing is a critical stage in computer vision systems, with greater relevance when the input images are captured in outdoor environments because the pictures could contain low contrast and modified colors. A common condition present in outdoor images is haze. In this work, a new dehazing algorithm based on dark channel prior mathematical morphology operations (opening and dilation), and a Gaussian filter, is proposed. Moreover, the proposed algorithm performance is compared qualitatively and quantitatively against previously reported algorithms. Obtained results show that the proposed algorithm requires less processing time providing higher quality dehazing results than other state-of-the-art approaches.  相似文献

This paper presents a test platform for the scale modeling of electromagnetic pulse effects. The different elements of the installation, i.e. a vertical conical antenna placed on a metallic reference plane, a fast rise time supply generator and a data acquisition and processing facility are described. The field of the antenna has also been studied using a Numerical Electromagnetic Code (Nec)based on the moments method and a comparison with the measurements has been performed. Conclusions resulting from this first stage in the construction of the scale modeling installation are presented.  相似文献

The present work proposes an autonomous tracking control system and a control structure to combine autonomous and teleoperation commands in a bicycle-type mobile robot. This compounded operation renders great flexibility to the control system of the mobile robot. For autonomous operation, a simple tracking controller that includes compensation of the robot dynamics is developed. This tracking control system is proved to be stable in the sense that it asymptotically reaches the tracking objective. Teleoperation with visual access to the robot’s workspace is integrated via a joystick with the autonomous operation of the robot. Simulations and experimental results on a prototype robot show the feasibility and performance of the proposed control system.  相似文献

Ingress nodes in optical burst switching (OBS) networks are responsible for assembling burst from incoming packets and forwarding these bursts into the OBS network core. Changes in the statistical characteristics of a traffic stream at an ingress switch can affect the capacity of the network to provide quality of service. Therefore, the statistical characteristics of the output flow of an ingress node must be known for appropriate network dimensioning. This paper evaluates the impact of burst assembly mechanisms on the scaling properties of multifractal traffic flows. Results show that the factor most relevant in determining the nature of the output traffic flow is the relationship between the cut-off time scale of the input traffic and the time scale of assembly threshold. Moreover, a procedure for the detection of the cut-off scale of incoming traffic is introduced.  相似文献

The rising interest shown for adaptable electronics and brain‐inspired neuromorphic hardware increases the need for new device architectures and functional materials to build such devices. The rational design of these memory components also benefits the comprehension and thus the control over the microscopic mechanisms at the origin of memristivity. In oxide‐based valence‐change memories, the control of the oxygen drift and diffusion kinetics is a key aspect in obtaining the gradual analog‐type change in resistance required for artificial synapse applications. However, only a few devices are designed with this in mind, as they are commonly built around ionic insulating active materials. This shortcoming is addressed by using a mixed ionic–electronic conductor as functional memristive material. This work demonstrates how the oxygen content in La2NiO4+δ (L2NO4), tuned through post‐annealing treatments, has a critical influence on the memory characteristics of L2NO4‐based memristive devices. The presence of interstitial oxygen point defects in L2NO4 affects both its structure and electrical properties. High oxygen stoichiometry in the pristine state leads to an increased electrical conductivity, ultimately resulting in an improved memory window with highly multilevel, analog‐type memory programing capabilities, desirable for analog computing and synaptic applications in particular.  相似文献

Solid‐state lithium metal (Li°) batteries (SSLMBs) are believed to be the most promising technologies to tackle the safety concerns and the insufficient energy density encountered in conventional Li‐ion batteries. Solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs) inherently own good processability and flexibility, enabling large‐scale preparation of SSLMBs. To minimize the growth of Li° dendrites and cell polarization in SPE‐based SSLMBs, an additive‐containing single Li‐ion conductive SPE is reported. The characterization results show that a small dose of electrolyte additive (2 wt%) substantially increases the ionic conductivity of single Li‐ion conductive SPEs as well as the interfacial compatibility between electrode and SPE, allowing the cycling of SPE‐based cells with good electrochemical performance. This work may provide a paradigm shift on the design of highly cationic conductive electrolytes, which are essential for developing safe and high‐performance rechargeable batteries.  相似文献
