Evaluation of intermodel agreement using ISO 13655 M0, M1, and M2 measurement modes in commercial spectrophotometers

Spectrophotometers are routinely used for color measurement and color management in many commercial printing and proofing workflows. In the case of media containing optical brightening agents, ultraviolet (UV)‐induced fluorescence has led to poor levels of agreement between models from different manufacturers, and different models from the same manufacturer. A relevant standard, ISO 13655, has been revised and now clearly defines measurement modes and conditions for the UV component in spectrophotometers. ISO 13655:2009—Graphic Technology—Spectral Measurement and Colorimetric Computation for Graphic Arts Images now defines four measurement modes: M0, M1, M2, and M3. The intermodel difference between 10 commercially available spectrophotometers is evaluated for different substrate types in measurement modes (M0, M1, and M2) as allowed by each instrument. In particular, the authors compare devices using M0 legacy mode versus newer instruments that are compliant with the new M1 and M2 (UV‐included and UV‐excluded) measurement modes. A finding with significant practical applications is that there is greatly improved intermodel agreement between the new generation of ISO 13655‐compliant instruments in M1 (D50) mode when compared with the previous generation of hand‐held spectrophotometers. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A fast design variation technique for mechanical systems is presented. It is used to interactively optimize mechanical characteristics while "self-assembling" or satisfying large systems of mechanical constraints. The high speed method is central to providing inverse dynamics force feedback in haptics and control applications. Performance advantages with the use of augmented coordinates for inverse dynamics of closed loop topologies are also noted. The interaction framework allows manipulation of complex assemblies while maintaining kinematically admissible configurations though linkage and joint limit constraints. Furthermore, design variables such as link length can be treated as free variables and optimized to meet design criteria such as assembly dexterity. Assemblies with flexible bodies fit naturally within this framework. Thus, the contribution of this paper is the advancement of techniques in augmented coordinates for the kinematic and force feedback interaction with virtual mechanical assembly design optimization at force control rates. 相似文献

In the treatment of cancerous tumors, the thermal dose is the time temperature history required to treat or destroy the undesirable tissue. The aim of this article is to calculate the optimum history of the heat source that, in the one-dimensional bioheat transfer model, results in the desired thermal dose. The time dependent strength of this source defines the accumulated energy at the end of a single heat treatment period. First the optimum control problem is formulated in infinite-dimensional form. The associated adjoint problem is obtained using the calculus of variations and an analytical formula is derived for the gradient of the functional of interest. Then a parametric representation of the control parameter is developed and the adjoint state approach is performed in conjugation with the conjugate gradient method for the solution of this control problem in finite-dimensional form. A one-dimensional numerical case is analyzed and discussed to demonstrate the performance and the robustness of the present method. 相似文献

Systems used in complex, multi-agency environments have a number of inherent problems and challenges that in many cases, lead
to systems failure. The area of system failure has been the subject of extensive research in the past. It has been well documented
in a number of places that information systems are difficult to build and are prone to failure. This paper examines system
failure from a social perspective in the context of building systems in complex environments. Through a case study modelling
approach, a framework has been developed to assist in building information systems in such complex multi-agency environments.
The paper introduces this framework through a study of a number of challenges confronting the builder of information systems
in complex, social, multi-agency environments. We examine the role of task accountability and problems identifying authority
as key reasons why systems are rejected by users. We introduce a task accountability model to help understand this problem.

A macropipelined CISC microprocessor was implemented in a 0.75-μm CMOS 3.3-V technology. The 1.3-million-transistor custom chip measures 1.62×1.46 cm2 and dissipates 16.3 W. A telephone survey of households in 13 states in the southeastern U.S. determined residential fuelwood acquisition and use for heating during the 1991 heating season. Although wood burning accounted for only 10% of the total household heat requirement of the region, it accounted for 51% of the total heat requirements of wood-burning households. One-quarter (25%) of the households burned wood, consuming almost 9 million standard cords. Three-quarters (77%) of wood-burning households reported that wood burning contributed to household heating requirements. Wood as a source of home heating was particularly important to low income households, both rural and urban. Wood is the sole source of home heating for 17% of the wood-burning households in the region. 相似文献
