In this study, the thermal comfort properties of single jersey fabrics produced by conventional and hollow cotton yarns with different hollowness ratio have been investigated and compared. For this purpose, thermal conductivity, thermal resistance, thermal absorptivity, air permeability and water vapour permeability of core spun, hollow and conventional yarn fabrics were measured and evaluated statistically. It was observed that thermal comfort properties of single jersey fabrics were affected by the yarn structure and the fibre distribution within the yarn. The results showed that hollow yarn fabrics had better thermal comfort properties than that of conventional yarn fabrics. In hollow yarns, as the hollowness ratio increases, air permeability and thermal conductivity of single jersey fabrics decrease but thermal resistance, thermal absorptivity and water vapour permeability increase. Statistical analysis also indicated that the differences between properties of hollow yarn fabrics and conventional yarn fabrics were significant. Furthermore, the yarn hollowness ratio significantly affects thermal comfort properties of single jersey fabrics.  相似文献

In a dynamic market setting, firms need to quickly respond to shifting demographics and economic conditions. In this paper, we investigate the problem of determining the optimum set of locations for a firm, which operates a chain of facilities under competition. We consider the objective of maximizing profit, defined as gross profit margin minus logistics costs. We propose a location-routing model where revenue is realized according to probabilistic patronization of customers and routing costs are incurred due to vehicles serving the open facilities from a central depot. We propose a hybrid heuristic optimization methodology for solving this model. The optimal locations are searched for by a Genetic Algorithm while an integrated Tabu Search algorithm is employed for solving the underlying vehicle routing problem. The solution approach is tested on a real dataset of a supermarket chain. The results show that the location decisions made by the proposed methodology lead to increased market share and profit margin, while keeping logistics costs virtually unchanged. Finally, we present a GIS-based framework that can be used to store, analyze and visualize all data as well as model solutions in geographic format.  相似文献

This paper is the outcome of a specific task group of the RILEM Technical Committee 241-MCD “Mechanisms of Cracking and Debonding in Asphalt and Composite Pavements”. The group on “Advanced Measurement Techniques” was established in 2011 to investigate DIC applications for non-destructive and non-contact measurements of strain fields during laboratory testing. The paper illustrates different DIC/optical flow applications in measuring strain distribution during laboratory testing. The effects of dried and ground brewer's spent grain (BSG) on dietary fibre content and some quality characteristics of beef Frankfurters were investigated. BSG preparations of fine (<212 μm), medium (212–425 μm) and coarse (425–850 μm) particle sizes were used in the production of Frankfurters. The total dietary fibre (TDF) content of the Frankfurters supplemented with BSG of different particle sizes increased significantly ( P  < 0.05) as the level of addition was increased. The mean TBA (2-thiobarbituric acid), colour and texture values except springiness had significant differences ( P  < 0.05) among the treatments. The overall acceptability scores for the control and the Frankfurters with BSG were 7.57 and 5.47–7.02 on a nine-point scale, respectively. Cluster analysis was also carried out to divide the measured parameters into clusters according to their similarities and to find out the correlations among them. It can be concluded that BSG can be added to Frankfurters to increase their fibre content without deleteriously affecting their sensory parameters.  相似文献

This paper describes the removal of Cd(II), Pb(II), Cu(II), and Ni(II) ions from aqueous solutions using chemically modified pine barks (Pinus nigra). In this article, effects of chemical modification methods on the adsorption capacity have been investigated. Changes of the surface properties were examined by the FTIR, SEM and zeta potential analyses. HCl, NaOH, Fenton reactive, polymerization, acetone, ethanol, chloroform, tetra ethylene glycol, diethyl ether and glycol were used for modification processes. Maximum adsorption capacities were obtained by modification with NaOH (13-20 mg/g), Fenton (12-17 mg/g) and polymerization (12-16.5 mg/g). These modification processes also decreased Chemical Oxygen Demand of water from 1820 mg/L for raw pine barks to 35 mg/L for NaOH modified barks. Adsorption capacities of adsorbents increased from 2 mg/g to 20 mg/g as a result of modification that accordingly increase adsorbent surface activity.  相似文献
