This investigation focuses on the preparation of bio‐based composites from recycled poly (ethylene terephthalate) (PET) and sisal fibers (3 cm, 15 wt %), via thermopressing process. Plasticizers derived from renewable raw materials are used, namely, glycerol, tributyl citrate (TBC) and castor oil (CO), to decrease the melting point of the recycled PET (Tm ∼ 265°C), which is sufficiently high to initiate the thermal decomposition of the lignocellulosic fiber. All used materials are characterized by thermogravimetric analysis and differential scanning calorimetry, and the composites are also characterized via dynamic mechanical thermal analysis. The storage modulus (30°C) and the tan δ peak values of CT [PET/sisal/TBC] indicate that TBC also acts as a compatibilizing agent at the interface fiber/PET, as well as a plasticizer. To compare different processing methods, rheometry/thermopressing and compression molding are used to prepare the recycled PET/sisal/glycerol/CO composites. The primary amine content in tetraethylenepentamine (TEPA) and TEPAN, a bonding agent used in composite solid propellants, was determined by near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy and the results were compared to those obtained by potentiometry. The band at 4930 cm−1, which showed to be influenced only by primary amine groups, was chosen as the analytical band. The calibration curves based on isopropylamine (IPA) and isopropylamine/dibutylamine (IPA/DBA) mixtures proved to be suitable for determining the NH2 content of TEPA or of samples containing mixtures of NH and NH2 groups. It was found that TEPA contains 26.4 % of NH2 and 25.7 % of NH, and that TEPAN contains 0.5 % of NH2, confirming the low content of primary amine of this bonding agent. The lowest amine equivalent of TEPA is 31.1±0.3 g/eq, as determined by potentiometry, was found because this technique measures the total hydrogen content, including primary and secondary amines. The literature value of 62.6 g/eq for TEPA ACROS obtained by potentiometry in a non aqueous medium and related to the first inflection of the primary amine, validates the value obtained by NIR in this work for a similar type of amine. The equivalent weight obtained by NIR spectroscopy (62.7 g/eq) allowed to calculate the molar mass of TEPA of 195.6 g mol−1, which is close to the typical value of 200 g mol−1.  相似文献

PCBN (polycrystalline cubic boron nitride) is the most widely used material for tools employed in hardened steel turning applications due to its high hardness, wear resistance and thermal stability. However, its high costs severely limit its use. Alumina-based ceramics reinforced with whiskers, an alternative and less expensive material for these tools, has been used successfully in turning interrupted surfaces. The objective of this work is to investigate the conditions under which PCBN and ceramic tools can promote optimal results in the turning of hardened steel with continuous and interrupted surfaces. These tools were used in the radial turning of hardened steel with three types of surfaces: continuous surfaces and surfaces with 4 and 8 interruptions. The results indicated that, in continuous turning, the longest tool life was achieved using PCBN, but similar tool longevity was attained in interrupted turning using both PCBN and ceramic. In terms of roughness, the PCBN tools showed better results for continuous and interrupted surfaces.  相似文献

A previously described starlike copolymer consisting of a lignin derivative (hydroxypropyl lignin) and caprolactone has been blended with poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) over a composition range of 0–100%. Solvent-cast films of the blends were examined with regard to thermal, mechanical, crystallinity, and morphological characteristics. In addition, the blends were examined with regard to aging effects. The results suggest that the lignin/caprolactone copolymer forms either a miscible (by thermal analysis) or a nearly miscible (with phase dimensions in the order of 10–30 nm) system in which physical properties are modified over a wide range of modulus and elongation. Blends with copolymer content exceeding 50% reveal partial caprolactone crystallinity that increases with age. Lignin derivative not copolymerized with caprolactone, by contrast, produces macrophase-separated structures with exceedingly poor properties. Lignin caprolactone starlike copolymers are materials ideally suited as plasticizers for PVC. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

The EFVM (Vitoria Minas Railroad) is one of the main railways in Brazil. It transports freight trains of ore, 220 wagons each. These wagons have 2 boogies of 2 axles each and 32 metric tons on metre gauge. Elastic strains were measured on a special part of this railway due to these trains. The main load to evaluate stresses and strains was a G 16 Locomotive, a C-C kind from Vale, a Brazilian Company. The measurements were obtained by dynamic deflectometer installed on a main line of this railway, near Ipatinga, a city from Minas Gerais, one of Brazil states. This track was equipped to obtain stresses under an equal repeated static load A simulation of the stresses was made under critical strain by Ferrovia 1.0 software. It was also made an evaluation of unequal results from neighbor sleepers taking in comparison two equipped parts of this railway, one with compacted ballast and no compaction to the other. The results were strain limited, avoiding breakage or damage to the studied rails. This work analyses these measurements focusing on the improvement of track quality.  相似文献

This paper reports a laboratory study of an accelerated reoxygenation treatment of polluted water bodies, using hydrogen peroxide (H2O2): conditions such as the discharge of waters from domestic sewers or polluted storm-water resulting from intense rainfall that lead to a reduction in the level of dissolved oxygen (DO). We studied the water from rivers that make up the basin of the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas (LRF) lagoon, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. When intense rainfall coincides with discharge from sewers, the polluted water may reach LRF. This has in the past led to episodes of critical deficit in DO in the waters of the lagoon, resulting in fish kill. To study this, we carried out experiments with water samples taken from the river feeding the lagoon. To study the accelerated reoxygenation of the river waters, we used different doses of H2O2. We concluded that the addition of H2O2 to the waters of the river during polluting events can prevent the level of DO in the lagoon going below a critical value. This treatment resulted in an immediate increase in DO that lasted hours and in the sustainability of the DO above the legal limit 5.0 mg L?1, enough to avoid fish kill.  相似文献

This paper shows some experimental results on wind erosion of sand particles, placed inside a rectangular box with the upper surface exposed to the flow. Data presented were achieved from a wind tunnel simulation. Results include erosion rate, free-surface profile change, vertical deformation rate, and also flow topology for several loose boundary geometries. Some visualization tests illustrate the path of particles, depicturing how the eroded bed evolutes.The main objective of this work is focused on the achievement of data useful for the benchmark of numerical models dealing with wind erosion phenomenon, in situations where the free-surface changes due to the removal and/or deposition of granular particles. Practical cases related with the present work include situations where coal particles are removed from stockyard piles, or dust is released during transportation of a granular material in open containers.  相似文献

This paper presents an experimental analysis of the confinement effects in steel–concrete composite columns regarding two parameters: concrete compressive strength and column slenderness. Sixteen concrete-filled steel tubular columns with circular cross section were tested under axial loading. The tested columns were filled by concrete with compressive strengths of 30, 60, 80, and 100 MPa, and had length/diameter ratios of 3, 5, 7, and 10. The experimental values of the columns’ ultimate load were compared to the predictions of 4 code provisions: the Brazilian Code NBR 8800:2008, Eurocode 4 (EN 1994-1-1:2004), AINSI/AISC 360:2005, and CAN/CSA S16-01:2001. According to the results, the load capacity of the composite columns increased with increasing concrete strength and decreased with increasing length/diameter ratio. In general, the code provisions were highly accurate in the prediction of column capacity. Among them, the Brazilian Code was the most conservative, while Eurocode 4 presented the values closest to the experimental results.  相似文献

Different concentrations of oily waste were added in a discontinuous mode and recurrently to anaerobic continuous stirred tank reactors fed with cow manure and food waste. Four continuous stirred tank reactors were run in parallel. A control reactor (R1) received no additional oil and R2, R3 and R4 received increasing concentrations of oil in two different experimental approaches. First, the lipids composition was forced to change suddenly, in three moments, without changing the total chemical oxygen demand (COD) fed to the reactors. The only long chain fatty acid (LCFA) detected onto the R1 solid matrix was palmitic acid (C16:0). Nevertheless in the solid matrix of R2, R3 and R4 C16:0 and stearic acid were detected. For occasional increase in the oil concentration up to 7.7 gCODoil/Lreactor (55% OilCOD/TotalCOD) no statistical differences were detected between the reactors, in terms of methane production, effluent soluble COD, effluent volatile fatty acids and total and volatile solids removal. Therefore this experiment allowed to conclude that cow manure–food waste co-digestion presents sufficient buffer capacity to endure solid-associated LCFA concentration up to 20–25 gCOD-LCFA/kgTS.In a second experiment higher concentrations of oil were added, raising occasionally the concentration in the reactors to 9, 12, 15 and 18 gCODoil/Lreactor. All pulses had a positive effect in methane production, with the exception of the highest oil pulse concentration, that persistently impaired the reactor performance. This experiment demonstrates that threshold values for LCFA and C16:0 accumulation onto the solid matrix, of about 180–220 gCOD-LCFA/kgTS and 120–150 gCOD-C16:0/kgTS, should not be surpassed in order to prevent persistent reactor failure, as occurs in some full scale co-digestion plants.  相似文献

Due to the lack of a building simulation program that can simulate in details the combined heat, vapor, and liquid transfer in porous elements and the HVAC (heating, ventilation and air-conditioning) systems, a flexible computational algorithm has been elaborated in order to integrate models for both HVAC systems and multizone hygrothermal building model. In the algorithm, models for the primary system-composed of chiller, cooling tower, primary pumps, and condensation pumps—have been described. For the secondary system, models for the cooling and dehumidifying coil, humidifier, fan, and mixing box have been considered. Those mathematical models have been integrated into the whole-building PowerDomus simulation environment. The simulation environment is presented, and results show the usability aspects of the proposed computer environment by comparing air- and water-cooled equipment.  相似文献
