A thermosetting resin system, bismaleimide (BMI) modified allyl novolac (BAN), was developed via reactive blending of formaldehyde and catalyst drop wise to improve the extent of reaction between BMI and phenol‐carbenium ions. For improving the curing behavior and mechanical properties, dicumyl peroxide (DCP) was selected as a novel curing initiator to compare with hexamethylenetetramine (HTMA) which is the most common curing initiator used in the manufacture of phenolic resins. BAN was characterized by 1H nuclear magnetic resonance and Fourier transfer infrared spectroscopy. Curing behavior with initiators was analyzed by differential scanning calorimetry and glass transition temperature of the cured resins was examined by dynamic mechanical analysis. For evaluating efficiency of the modified system, composite samples using polyvinyl acetyl fiber were molded and tested for flexural properties before and after ageing at 150°C for 1,000 h. The morphology of composite samples was examined by scanning electron microscope, and the effects of the incorporated initiators on the mechanical and thermal properties of composite were investigated. The results indicated that the initiators reduced the curing temperature effectively and improved the curing process. DCP proved to be more effective in crosslinking and heat resistance than HTMA. Meanwhile, the molded composite with DCP showed higher mechanical properties before and after ageing when compared with HTMA curing initiator. Therefore, DCP/BAN resin system with good heat resistance, higher mechanical properties, and better process ability can be applied as matrix resin for the manufacturing of advanced fiber reinforced composites. The objectives of this work was preparation and evaluation of the mucoadhesive elementary osmotic pump tablets of trimetazidine hydrochloride to achieve desired controlled release action and augmentation of oral drug absorption. The drug-loaded core tablets were prepared employing the suitable tableting excipients and coated with polymeric blend of ethyl cellulose and hydroxypropyl methylethylcellulose E5 (4:1). The prepared tablets were characterized for various quality control tests and in vitro drug release. Evaluation of drug release kinetics through model fitting suggested the Fickian mechanism of drug release, which was regulated by osmosis and diffusion as the predominant mechanism. Evaluation of mucoadhesion property using texture analyzer suggested good mucoadhesion potential of the developed osmotic systems. Solid state characterization using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry and powder X-ray diffraction spectroscopy confirmed the absence of any physiochemical incompatibilities between drug and excipients. Scanning electron microscopy analysis showed the smooth surface appearance of the coated tablets with intact polymeric membrane without any fracture. In vivo pharmacokinetic studies in rabbits revealed 3.01-fold enhancement in the oral bioavailability vis-à-vis the marketed formulation (Vastarel MR®). These studies successfully demonstrate the bioavailability enhancement potential of the mucoadhesive elementary osmotic pumps as novel therapeutic systems for other drugs too.  相似文献

Aim: To characterize the enhanced stability and permeation potential of amphotericin B nanoemulsion comprising sefsol-218 oil at varying pH and temperature of aqueous continuous phase.

Methodology: Several batches of amphotericin B loaded nanoemulsion were prepared and evaluated for their physical and chemical stability at different pH and temperature. Also, a comparative study of ex vivo drug permeation across the albino rat skin was investigated with commercial Fungisome® and drug solution at 37?°C for 24?h. The extent of drug penetrated through the rat skin was thereby evaluated using the confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM).

Results and conclusions: The optimized nanoemulsion demonstrated the highest flux rate 17.85?±?0.5?µg/cm2/h than drug solution (5.37?±?0.01?µg/cm2/h) and Fungisome® (7.97?±?0.01?µg/cm2/h). Ex vivo drug penetration mechanism from the developed formulations at pH 6.8 and pH 7.4 of aqueous phase pH using the CLSM revealed enhanced penetration. Ex vivo drug penetration studies of developed formulation comprising of CLSM revealed enhanced penetration in aqueous phase at pH 6.8 and 7.4. The aggregation behavior of nanoemulsion at both the pH was found to be minimum and non-nephrotoxic. The stability of amphotericin B was obtained in terms of pH, optical density, globular size, polydispersity index and zeta potential value at different temperature for 90 days. The slowest drug degradation was observed in aqueous phase at pH 7.4 with shelf life 20.03-folds higher when stored at 4?°C (3.8 years) and 5-fold higher at 25?°C (0.951 years) than at 40?°C. The combined results suggested that nanoemulsion may hold an alternative for enhanced and sustained topical delivery system for amphotericin B.  相似文献

Body integrated wearable electronics can be used for advanced health monitoring, security, and wellness. Due to the complex, asymmetric surface of human body and atypical motion such as stretching in elbow, finger joints, wrist, knee, ankle, etc. electronics integrated to body need to be physically flexible, conforming, and stretchable. In that context, state‐of‐the‐art electronics are unusable due to their bulky, rigid, and brittle framework. Therefore, it is critical to develop stretchable electronics which can physically stretch to absorb the strain associated with body movements. While research in stretchable electronics has started to gain momentum, a stretchable antenna which can perform far‐field communications and can operate at constant frequency, such that physical shape modulation will not compromise its functionality, is yet to be realized. Here, a stretchable antenna is shown, using a low‐cost metal (copper) on flexible polymeric platform, which functions at constant frequency of 2.45 GHz, for far‐field applications. While mounted on a stretchable fabric worn by a human subject, the fabricated antenna communicated at a distance of 80 m with 1.25 mW transmitted power. This work shows an integration strategy from compact antenna design to its practical experimentation for enhanced data communication capability in future generation wearable electronics.  相似文献
