The efficacy of cisapride as a treatment for chronic constipation in children with severe brain damage was studied in 20 children. Each subject was randomly assigned to double-blind treatment with either cisapride (N = 10) or placebo (N = 10) for 12 weeks. Stool habits, total gastrointestinal transit time, colonic segmental transit times, and anorectal motility were evaluated in all children before and at the end of the treatment period. Although cisapride significantly (P < 0.05) increased stool frequency from baseline to week 12 and no significant change was documented in the placebo group, the mean change in stool frequency per week from baseline to 12 week was not significantly different between the two treatment groups. The use of laxatives or suppositories was significantly (P < 0.05) decreased by cisapride, but remained unchanged in the placebo group. Furthermore, cisapride significantly (P < 0.05) reduced rectal compliance but had no effect on total gastrointestinal transit time and colonic segmental transit times. In summary, in neurologically impaired children with chronic constipation, cisapride increased bowel frequency but did not alter the delay in total and segmental gastrointestinal transit times.  相似文献

AC impedance between two acupuncture points (Li-4 and Li-12) and two pairs of anatomically similar points with the same separation was studied via Laplace plane analysis of the time domain current response to a predetermined voltage perturbation. The series resistance between the two acupuncture points was found to be significantly lower than between either pair of control points. The characteristic impedance of an equivalent transmission line was lower and the signal propagation velocity higher for the acupuncture point system as compared to both controls.  相似文献

To achieve haptic telepresence and proper contact behaviour, the control action of a robotic manipulator must be designed with respect to contact parameters. Unfortunately, it is hard to know these parameters exactly in unknown or partly known environments. In this case, contact instability and poor dynamic accuracy can arise due to the presence of modelling errors in the control design. To overcome these problems, online estimation of the relevant contact parameters can be performed, with corresponding adaptation of control laws. This article presents an algorithm for online stiffness estimation for compliant robotic manipulation based on the extended state-space representation of the system and force signals. No position or velocity measurements are required. The algorithm, supported by theoretical analysis, uses offline data concerning several stiffness mismatch scenarios and, through a least square error analysis, computes an estimate of the stiffness value. Simulation results are presented, with fast and accurate estimation even in the presence of noise, highlighting the merits of the method.  相似文献

With the successful launch of the IKONOS satellite, very high geometric resolution imagery is within reach of civilian users. In the 1-m spatial resolution images acquired by the IKONOS satellite, details of buildings, individual trees, and vegetation structural variations are detectable. The visibility of such details opens up many new applications, which require the use of geometrical information contained in the images. This paper presents an application in which spectral and textural information is used for mapping the leaf area index (LAI) of different vegetation types. This study includes the estimation of LAI by different spectral vegetation indices (SVIs) combined with image textural information and geostatistical parameters derived from high resolution satellite data. It is shown that the relationships between spectral vegetation indices and biophysical parameters should be developed separately for each vegetation type, and that the combination of the texture indices and vegetation indices results in an improved fit of the regression equation for most vegetation types when compared with one derived from SVIs alone. High within-field spatial variability was found in LAI, suggesting that high resolution mapping of LAI may be relevant to the introduction of precision farming techniques in the agricultural management strategies of the investigated area.  相似文献

In the posterior partially edentulous jaw, implants may be used to supplement existing natural dentition. Frequently, the maxillary sinuses and the mandibular nerve preclude the fabrication of freestanding implant-retained prostheses. However, if an implant and a natural abutment are combined, a fixed prosthesis can be fabricated, restoring the arch into the premolar area. The histories of three patients with attachments connecting implant-retained ceramotitanium crowns with crowns on natural abutments are described. A design for a rigid custom-made attachment for the Br?nemark system, using standard components with a machine-duplication, spark-erosion technique, is suggested.  相似文献

We propose a novel tracking control for induction motors in which only stator currents are used for feedback. Local exponential rotor speed and flux modulus tracking are achieved for any constant reference value and for restricted time-varying reference signals; any known motor parameters values (including constant load torque) and any initial condition, including rotor speed and fluxes, belonging to an explicitly computed domain of attraction are allowed.  相似文献

Single-input single-output uncertain linear time-varying systems are considered, which are affected by unknown bounded additive disturbances; the uncertain time-varying parameters are required to be smooth and bounded but are neither required to be sufficiently slow nor to have known bounds. The output, which is the only measured variable, is required to track a given smooth bounded reference trajectory. The undisturbed system is assumed to be minimum-phase and to have known and constant relative degree, known sign of the ‘high frequency gain’, known upper bound on the system order. An adaptive output feedback control algorithm is designed which assures: (i) boundedness of all closed-loop signals; (ii) arbitrarily improved transient performance of the tracking error; (iii) asymptotically vanishing tracking error when parameter time derivatives are L1 signals and disturbances are L2 signals.  相似文献

The F-box domain is a protein structural motif of about 50 amino acids that mediates protein–protein interactions. The F-box protein is one of the four components of the SCF (SKp1, Cullin, F-box protein) complex, which mediates ubiquitination of proteins targeted for degradation by the proteasome, playing an essential role in many cellular processes. Several discoveries have been made on the use of the ubiquitin–proteasome system by viruses of several families to complete their infection cycle. On the other hand, F-box proteins can be used in the defense response by the host. This review describes the role of F-box proteins and the use of the ubiquitin–proteasome system in virus–host interactions.  相似文献

Chelating resins for mercury adsorption were prepared by grafting polyacrylamide chains onto styrene–divinylbenzene (Sty–DVB) copolymers by applying gamma radiation. Sty–DVB copolymers were synthesized by aqueous suspension polymerization employing different synthesis conditions. The copolymers were characterized by apparent density, surface area, pore size distribution and swelling capacity. The copolymers were irradiated using a 60Co-γ source at room temperature in the presence of acrylamide solution in methanol. The grafting reaction was evaluated with the aid of elemental analysis, FTIR and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Hg(II) uptake measurements were carried out in batch experiments. The results showed that these resins can be successfully used for Hg(II) adsorption at ppm levels. The porosity degree of the copolymers influences the grafting yield as well as the Hg(II) complexation capacity of the chelating resins.  相似文献
