We have developed a conceptually and methodologically novel self‐assembled multilayer nickel nanoparticle (NP) catalyst – sulfur‐modified gold‐supported Ni NPs (SANi) – for organic synthesis. The SANi catalyst was easily prepared through a three‐step procedure involving simultaneous in situ metal NP and nanospace organization. This unique method does not require any conventional preformed template for immobilizing and stabilizing NPs. SANi catalyzes carbon‐carbon bond‐forming cross‐coupling, Kumada coupling, and Negishi coupling reactions under ligand‐free conditions and can be used repeatedly for these reactions. Physical analysis of SANi showed that the active species in these reactions are self‐assembled multilayer zerovalent Ni NPs with a size of ∼3 nm.

We report the basic device characteristics of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) based on linear silicon-backbone polymers, polysilanes, with a view to the possibility of employing them as an emissive material in a solid-state light source in the near-ultraviolet (NUV) or ultraviolet (UV) region. The LEDs we fabricated have a single-layer structure consisting of a thin film of polysilane polymer, together with an indium-tin-oxide (ITO) and metal electrode for the injection of holes and electrons, respectively. The device characteristics of these LED's depend strongly on the nature of the polysilane, reflecting its chemical, optical and electronic properties. Efforts to optimize the emissive polysilane have led to the successful fabrication of single-layer LEDs that emit NUV light of 407 nm (3.05 eV) with a quantum efficiency of 0.1% photons/electron and a spectral bandwidth of less than 15 nm (0.11 eV) at room temperature (RT). Future improvement in the device characteristics of NUV-LEDs or UV-LEDs based on polysilanes are discussed in terms of the fundamental properties of polysilanes and the device structure 相似文献

Rat PEX12 cDNA was isolated by functional complementation of peroxisome deficiency of a mutant CHO cell line, ZP109 (K. Okumoto, A. Bogaki, K. Tateishi, T. Tsukamoto, T. Osumi, N. Shimozawa, Y. Suzuki, T. Orii, and Y. Fujiki, Exp. Cell Res. 233:11-20, 1997), using a transient transfection assay and an ectopic, readily visible marker, green fluorescent protein. This cDNA encodes a 359-amino-acid membrane protein of peroxisomes with two transmembrane segments and a cysteine-rich zinc finger, the RING motif. A stable transformant of ZP109 with the PEX12 was morphologically and biochemically restored for peroxisome biogenesis. Pex12p was shown by expression of bona fide as well as epitope-tagged Pex12p to expose both N- and C-terminal regions to the cytosol. Fibroblasts derived from patients with the peroxisome deficiency Zellweger syndrome of complementation group III (CG-III) were also complemented for peroxisome biogenesis with PEX12. Two unrelated patients of this group manifesting peroxisome deficiency disorders possessed homozygous, inactivating PEX12 mutations: in one, Arg180Thr by one point mutation, and in the other, deletion of two nucleotides in codons for 291Asn and 292Ser, creating an apparently unchanged codon for Asn and a codon 292 for termination. These results indicate that the gene encoding peroxisome assembly factor Pex12p is a pathogenic gene of CG-III peroxisome deficiency. Moreover, truncation and site mutation studies, including patient PEX12 analysis, demonstrated that the cytoplasmically oriented N- and C-terminal parts of Pex12p are essential for biological function. 相似文献

Lactoferrin has been for the first time purified from the porcine cauda epididymal fluid as a 70 kDa protein. Both Western and Northern blot analyses show that lactoferrin is synthesized in the regions from the distal caput to the cauda epididymis and secreted into the luminal fluid. Lactoferrin is first secreted as a 75 kDa glycoprotein and its carbohydrate moieties are gradually digested to form 70 kDa protein in the cauda epididymis. Lactoferrin has already bound to the surface of the epididymal sperm because the anti-lactoferrin antiserum induces the mature sperm tail-to-tail agglutination. These results strongly suggest new physiological functions of lactoferrin on the sperm maturation in the epididymis. 相似文献

The corticospinal motor evoked potential (MEP) response to transcranial magnetic stimulation of the motor cortex was investigated in comparison with the direct (D) response to electrical stimulation of the exposed motor cortex from the spinal epidural space in 7 neurologically normal patients during brain tumor surgery. The D response during operation was obtained by transcranial magnetic stimulation of the scalp over the areas of the cerebral motor cortex, the hand or arm areas. The magnetic induced D response showed a conduction velocity of 50.5-72.7 m/sec and was resistant to anesthesia and unaffected by muscle relaxants and tolerant to high frequency (500 Hz) paired magnetic stimulus, and the latencies of magnetic MEPs corresponded to those with direct electrical stimulation. Thus, recordings of the D response by transcranial magnetic stimulation are useful for not only identifying the location of the motor cortex during intracranial surgery but also for non-invasive recording of pyramidal tract activity during extracranial surgery under general anesthesia. 相似文献

We have examined the conduction pathways of motor evoked potentials (MEPs) elicited by transcranial magnetic stimulation, and their correlation with locomotor function in rats. MEPs were concomitantly recorded from the spinal cord (sMEPs) and the limb muscles (mMEPs) before and after various spinal tract ablations. Motor function was also examined using an inclined plane test. sMEPs were composed of four negative peaks (N1-N4) and mMEPs of high-voltage, biphasic waves. Ventral funiculus transection reduced the N1-N3 peaks and abolished mMEPs. Contrarily, dorsal funiculus transection including the pyramidal tract did not alter these MEPs. Motor performance on an inclined plane was worse after ventral funiculus transection than after other transections. These findings indicate that, in rats, the N1-N3 peaks of magnetic sMEPs conduct ventral funiculus activity, and that magnetic mMEPs mainly reflect extrapyramidal activities and are correlated with locomotor function. 相似文献

Although biliary excretion of Etoposide is thought to be one of the main excretory routes, less investigation has been performed in human because of the clinical difficulties of bile collection. In the present study, the biliary and pancreatic excretion of Etoposide was examined through the hepaticus- or pancreaticus drainage in two pancreatoduodenectomized patients. The drug (95 mg) was infused for 30 min. Blood, bile and pancreatic juice were taken consecutively during and after infusion. Etoposide in the samples was measured as an unchanged type by HPLC. Etoposide was detected in the bile at the same level or more of the blood, their correlation being significant during the observation period. Recovery of the unchanged drug from the hepatic bile in the present series was 2.7-3.0% during the period of 3.5 hrs. And total recovery was estimated as 3.5-4.0% from AUC of the further extended concentration curve. Pancreatic excretion of Etoposide was minimum, its ratio with blood concentration being 2-3%. Recovery for 3.5 hrs. was less than 0.02%. From the data obtained, the biliary excretion of Etoposide was discussed together with its metabolites. 相似文献
