In this study, the mixed convection of water at 4 °C along a wedge in a porous medium is investigated numerically using a finite difference method. To explore the effect of mixed convection, both forced and free convection-dominated regimes are considered. Non-similarity solutions are obtained for the variable walltemperature boundary condition. Velocity and temperature profiles as well as local dimensionless skin friction and the Nusselt number are obtained and compared with available numerical results for various values of different parameters. The wedge angle geometry parameter m and mixed convection parameter ξ ranged from 0 to 1 in both regimes, whereas different values of λ are considered for the purpose of comparison of heat transfer results.  相似文献

Bi3+ and Tb3+ ions co-doped GdAlO3 (GAP) nanophosphors have been synthesized by means of solvothermal reaction method. The XRD pattern of GAP phosphor confirms their orthorhombic phase. The luminescence properties of these phosphors have been explored by analyzing their excitation and emission spectra along with their decay curves. The excitation spectra of GAP:Tb3+, Bi3+ phosphors consist of a broad band in the shorter wavelength region due to the 4f8 → 4f75d1 transition of Tb3+ ions overlapped with the 6s2 → 6s16p1 (1S0 → 3P1) transition of Bi3+ ions and some sharp peaks in the longer wavelength region due to f → f transitions of Tb3+ ions. The present phosphors exhibit green color due to strong 5D4 → 7F5 transition of Tb3+ ions. The emission intensity was enhanced by co-doping with Bi3+ ions under 292 nm excitation, which indicate that the efficient energy transfer occurred from Bi3+ to Tb3+ ions.  相似文献

The efficiency of soil remediation is often limited by the low aqueous solubility of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons, PAHs. Surfactants can then be used to enhance the removal of PAHs from soils. The dissolution of pure solid deposit of benzo(a)pyrene, B(a)P, has shown that cationic surfactants are the most efficient to increase the aqueous solubility of B(a)P, when compared to neutral or anionic surfactants. In this paper we compare by using soil suspension washings, the efficiency of two surfactants (i) a cationic surfactant, the benzyldimethyl dodecylammonium bromide, BDDA, and (ii) a neutral one, the t-octylphenoxypolyethoxy ethanol, triton X-100. The losses of surfactant, by adsorption on soil or precipitation, were measured together with the release of B(a)P, chosen as a model molecule, representative of all the PAHs. The efficiency of surfactants used in blend was then compared to the efficiency of surfactants alone.  相似文献

This paper deals with the triple-diffusive boundary layer flow of nanofluid over a nonlinear stretching sheet. In this model, where binary nanofluid is used, the Brownian motion, thermophoresis, and cross-diffusion are classified as the main mechanisms, which are responsible for the enhancement of the convection features of the nanofluid. The boundary layer equations governed by the partial differential equations are transformed into a set of ordinary differential equations with the help of group theory transformations, which is introduced by Blasius (The boundary layers in fluids with little friction, 1950). The variational finite element method is used to solve these ordinary differential equations. We have examined the effects of different controlling parameters, namely the Brownian motion parameter, the thermophoresis parameter, modified Dufour number, nonlinear stretching parameter, Prandtl number, regular Lewis number, Dufour Lewis number, and nanofluid Lewis number on the flow field and heat transfer characteristics. The physics of the problem is well explored for the embedded material parameters through tables and graphs. The present study has many applications in coating and suspensions, movement of biological fluids, cooling of metallic plate, melt-spinning, heat exchangers technology, and oceanography.  相似文献

By using ICT in an innovative way, governments can improve the delivery of services and interaction with stakeholders. Open data is a way to help public organizations became more open and improve interaction with stakeholders. This paper aims to identify what are the public values enhancements acquired on smart city environment that discloses open data. We propose a conceptual model to analyze the smart city initiative. We contextualized the model taking a smart city domain by analyzing three related-initiatives that comprises open data in a smart city case carried at Rio de Janeiro Operations Center (COR) in Brazil by seven deep-interviewees directly involved - from inside and outside – in this case. The effects of the extraction procedure on the sensory and chemical evaluation of Thymus zygis L. aromatic extracts obtained by hydro distillation and compressed CO2 extraction were studied. Compressed CO2 extractions were performed at a temperature of 313 K and 10 and 15 MPa of pressure for 60 min. Aromatic extracts were analysed by GC and GC-MS. Sensorial analysis of the aromatic extracts incorporated into a sunflower oil was carried out by a panel of 20 trained members. The main compounds of Thymus zygis essential oil obtained by Clevenger distillation are: p-cymene (13.6%), thymol (23.8%), geraniol (18.2%), and geranyl acetate (16.3%). The compositions of supercritical extracts are quite different. The detection threshold of Thymus zygis essential oil was 0.001 mg/kg sunflower oil. The preferred level of essential oil incorporation was 0.02 mg/kg sunflower oil (P<0.05). Sensorial attributes were correlated with chemical compositions and it can be concluded that extracts with higher levels of phenols and geranyl acetate were preferred.  相似文献

YBa2Cu3O7−x pellets have been found to degrade and lose superconducting properties when exposed to the normal atmosphere for long durations. Hence, coating the superconducting pellets with a polymer to protect it from moisture and CO2 of the ambient atmosphere is highly desirable. In this paper the criteria of selection of a polymer and some preliminary studies on polymeric encapsulation of 1-2-3 pellets are reported. Fevitite epoxy and stycast have been found to show encouraging results.  相似文献

The laminar micropolar thermal boundary layer in axial flow along a long, thin circular cylinder is investigated using the theory of micropolar fluids formulated by Eringen. The governing energy equation has been solved numerically by the power series approach. Missing values of the thermal functions are tabulated for a wide range of the material parameters, the transverse curvature parameter, and Prandtl number of the fluid.  相似文献
