The effect of single-layer pyrocarbon (PyC) and multilayered (PyC/SiC)n=4 interphases on the flexural strength of un-coated and SiC seal-coated stitched 2D carbon fiber reinforced silicon carbide (Cf/SiC) composites was investigated. The composites were prepared by I-CVI process. Flexural strength of the composites was measured at 1200 °C in air atmosphere. It was observed that irrespective of the type of interphase, the seal coated samples showed a higher value of flexural strength as compared to the uncoated samples. The flexural strength of 470 ± 12 MPa was observed for the seal coated Cf/SiC composite samples with multilayered interphase. The seal coated samples with single layer PyC interphase showed flexural strength of 370 ± 20 MPa. The fractured surfaces of tested samples were analyzed in detail to study the fracture phenomena. Based on microstructure-property relations, a mechanism has been proposed for the increase of flexural properties of Cf/SiC composites having multilayered interphase.  相似文献

Curcumin, a natural polyphenolic compound, has astounding therapeutic applications but lacks in bioavailability mainly due to its poor solubility in water. Polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) which is a proven drug carrier has been used to facilitate the conjugation of curcumin with gold nanoparticles and to improve the solubility of curcumin in water. In this conjugate diaryl heptanoid chromophore group of curcumin which is a much needed group in biomedical applications remains intact as observed from FTIR and UV–vis spectroscopy analysis. The work shows good promise for such conjugates as therapeutic-cum-imaging materials in biomedical field.  相似文献

In this research, we have explored the canonical correlation analysis (CCA) to improve the performance of the identification system that involves multiple correlated modalities. In particular, we consider the electroencephalogram signal of different mental task performed by the subject such as breathing, mental mathematics, and geometric figure rotation, visual counting and mental letter composing. Our motivation based on the fusion of feature vector of mental task using canonical correlation analysis, where feature set extraction using empirical mode decomposition and information theoretic measure and statistical measurement. In order to classify the fused vector from different mental, we have used linear vector quantization (LVQ) neural network and its extension LVQ2. The results of the experiments testing the performance have been evaluated with two profiles of the database. We have observed canonical correlation-based fusion providing the better results in comparison with simple fusion rule. The novelty of this research is the new feature generation using fused feature of distinct mental task based on CCA.  相似文献

With the FDA approval of the first 3D printed tablet, Spritam®, there is now precedence set for the utilization of 3D printing for the preparation of drug delivery systems. The capabilities for dispensing low volumes with accuracy, precise spatial control and layer-by-layer assembly allow for the preparation of complex compositions and geometries. The high degree of flexibility and control with 3D printing enables the preparation of dosage forms with multiple active pharmaceutical ingredients with complex and tailored release profiles. A unique opportunity for this technology for the preparation of personalized doses to address individual patient needs. This review will highlight the 3D printing technologies being utilized for the fabrication of drug delivery systems, as well as the formulation and processing parameters for consideration. This article will also summarize the range of dosage forms that have been prepared using these technologies, specifically over the last 10 years.  相似文献

Cryogenic aerosol cleaning is a dry cleaning method used in the back end of line (BEOL) semiconductor manufacturing to remove defects from planar hydrophobic surfaces such as SiCOH and SiCxNyHz. Cryogenic aerosol cleaning is preferred over conventional wet cleaning methods as it is a non-contact cleaning method, which uses inert gases to generate sub-micrometer-sized solid aerosol particles that physically remove nanometer-sized contaminants on wafer surfaces. Particle removal mechanism involves detachment of the particles upon impact with aerosol, diffusion, and finally entrainment away from the wafer. In BEOL metal line patterning, particles on the dielectric isolation surfaces translate through the subsequent lithography and copper fill steps in to single or multiple metal line open defects that are yield killers. In this study, we show that the particle removal performance of the standard aerosol cleaning can be enhanced by pre-heating the wafer and use of a higher molecular weight inert gas, namely Ar, for aerosol generation. Both the addition of a Pre-heat step and the use of Ar as the aerosol source showed 47–52% reduction in single and multiple line opens detected through wafer electrical tests during high volume semiconductor manufacturing process.  相似文献

The main aim of this work is to examine the influence of the contents of nonmetallic printed circuit board (PCB) waste component on the photodegradation of recycled high‐density polyethylene (rHDPE) composites. The properties tested were chemical changes, flexural properties, color stability, water absorption, leaching properties, and crystallinity changes of the composites after exposure to 2,000 h of accelerated weathering. Surface degradation for composites with nonmetallic PCB was less compared to unfilled rHDPE mainly because glass fibers covered almost the whole surface of specimens, acting as a protective layer, thus, slowing down the photodegradation reaction. Incorporation of compatibilizer in rHDPE/PCB composites had played an important role in resisting degradation due to UV exposure. All the composite samples became lighter in the early stages of weathering exposure; however, compatibilized composites showed less lightening and reduction on strength and modulus. Carbonyl index increases with exposure time indicating that the oxidation reaction continuously occurred during the aging process. Incorporation of compatibilizer had successfully reduced the water absorption uptake by the composites and effectively delayed some degradation properties of weathering. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. An attempt was taken to synthesize two types of polyaniline (PANI) with and without solvent followed by drying in air and vacuum oven conditions resulting different morphologies. The PANIs were prepared by chemical oxidative polymerization and studied with respect to their morphological features. Scanning electron microscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, X‐ray diffractometry, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy techniques were used for the characterization studies. The PANI synthesized with a solvent had a mixed morphology (fibrillar and granular), whereas PANI synthesized without a solvent had only a granular morphology. The direct‐current electrical conductivities of the samples were evaluated with an electrometer. We observed that the PANIs with mixed morphology (with solvent) were more electrically conducting than those with a single morphology (without solvent). On drying in vacuo, the conductivity of PANI decreased from 3.3 × 10?2 to 0.3 × 10?2 S/cm with solvent treatment, whereas it decreased from 0.1 × 10?2 to 0.3 × 10?3 S/cm without solvent treatment. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
