In this communication we discuss effects of load and day-to-day variation on the autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) model for signals from the medial deltoid muscle. The movement consisted of 15 successive 90°abduction-adductions under several loading conditions for two normal subjects. Data visualization plays a crucial role in identifying interesting patterns in exploratory data analysis. Its use is, however, made difficult by the large number of possible data projections showing different attribute subsets that must be evaluated by the data analyst. In this paper, we introduce a method called VizRank, which is applied on classified data to automatically select the most useful data projections. VizRank can be used with any visualization method that maps attribute values to points in a two-dimensional visualization space. It assesses possible data projections and ranks them by their ability to visually discriminate between classes. The quality of class separation is estimated by computing the predictive accuracy of k-nearest neighbor classifier on the data set consisting of x and y positions of the projected data points and their class information. The paper introduces the method and presents experimental results which show that VizRank's ranking of projections highly agrees with subjective rankings by data analysts. The practical use of VizRank is also demonstrated by an application in the field of functional genomics.  相似文献

Nanowires (NWs) hold great potential in advanced thermoelectrics due to their reduced dimensions and low-dimensional electronic character. However, unfavorable links between electrical and thermal conductivity in state-of-the-art unpassivated NWs have, so far, prevented the full exploitation of their distinct advantages. A promising model system for a surface-passivated one-dimensional (1D)-quantum confined NW thermoelectric is developed that enables simultaneously the observation of enhanced thermopower via quantum oscillations in the thermoelectric transport and a strong reduction in thermal conductivity induced by the core–shell heterostructure. High-mobility modulation-doped GaAs/AlGaAs core–shell NWs with thin (sub-40 nm) GaAs NW core channel are employed, where the electrical and thermoelectric transport is characterized on the same exact 1D-channel. 1D-sub-band transport at low temperature is verified by a discrete stepwise increase in the conductance, which coincided with strong oscillations in the corresponding Seebeck voltage that decay with increasing sub-band number. Peak Seebeck coefficients as high as ≈65–85 µV K−1 are observed for the lowest sub-bands, resulting in equivalent thermopower of S2σ ≈ 60 µW m−1 K−2 and S2G ≈ 0.06 pW K−2 within a single sub-band. Remarkably, these core–shell NW heterostructures also exhibit thermal conductivities as low as ≈3 W m−1 K−1, about one order of magnitude lower than state-of-the-art unpassivated GaAs NWs.  相似文献

In this work, molecular tuning of metal xanthate precursors is shown to have a marked effect on the heterojunction morphology of hybrid poly(3‐hexylthiophene‐2,5‐diyl) (P3HT)/CdS blends and, as a result, the photochemical processes and overall performance of in situ fabricated hybrid solar cells. A series of cadmium xanthate complexes is synthesized for use as in situ precursors to cadmium sulfide nanoparticles in hybrid P3HT/CdS solar cells. The formation of CdS domains is studied by simultaneous GIWAXS (grazing incidence wide‐angle X‐ray scattering) and GISAXS (grazing incidence small‐angle X‐ray scattering), revealing knowledge about crystal growth and the formation of different morphologies observed using TEM (transmission electron microscopy). These measurements show that there is a strong relationship between precursor structure and heterojunction nanomorphology. A combination of TAS (transient absorption spectroscopy) and photovoltaic device performance measurements is used to show the intricate balance required between charge photogeneration and percolated domains in order to effectively extract charges to maximize device power conversion efficiencies. This study presents a strong case for xanthate complexes as a useful route to designing optimal heterojunction morphologies for use in the emerging field of hybrid organic/inorganic solar cells, due to the fact that the nanomorphology can be tuned via careful design of these precursor materials.  相似文献

Blends of conjugated polymers and inorganic semiconductors are an interesting class of materials with various applications in the field of plastic electronics. This work presents a direct approach to obtain composites consisting of a conjugated polymer, poly(3-(ethyl-4-butanoate)thiophene) (P3EBT), and a sulfur-based semiconductor (i.e. CdS, PbS or ZnS) using an in-situ formation route. The metal sulfide semiconductor is formed by reaction of the corresponding metal salt (cadmium acetate, zinc acetate or lead thiocyanate) dispersed within the conjugated polymer matrix with thiourea at temperatures below 200 °C. Nanoscaled networks are formed in the case of the CdS- and ZnS-P3EBT composites as shown by X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy investigations, whereas the PbS-P3EBT blend exhibits inorganic structures on the μm-scale. The materials were used as active layer in bulk-heterojunction type hybrid solar cells. First photovoltaic devices containing an active layer of CdS- or ZnS-P3EBT show photovoltaic action, though efficiencies are low (≤ 0.06%).  相似文献

This paper presents the results of the personal exposure monitoring conducted in the Ro?ná uranium mine in the Czech Republic. In this mine, which has been operated since the late 1950s, personal ALGADE dosemeters have been used since 1998. A group of 600 miners employed during the period 2000-09 has been analysed. Annual exposures to radon decay products, long-lived alpha emitters and external gamma radiation are described. These components play an essential role in the estimation of the total effective dose. The dependence of the exposures on the type of mining job is also assessed.  相似文献

From the literature the analytical calculation of local power and astigmatism of a wavefront after refraction and propagation is well known; it is, e.g., performed by the Coddington equation for refraction and the classical vertex correction formula for propagation. Recently the authors succeeded in extending the Coddington equation to higher order aberrations (HOA). However, equivalent analytical propagation equations for HOA do not exist. Since HOA play an increasingly important role in many fields of optics, e.g., ophthalmic optics, it is the purpose of this study to extend the propagation equations of power and astigmatism to the case of HOA (e.g., coma and spherical aberration). This is achieved by local power series expansions. In summary, with the results presented here, it is now possible to calculate analytically the aberrations of a propagated wavefront directly from the aberrations of the original wavefront containing both low-order and high-order aberrations.  相似文献

High-quality thin films of conjugated molecules with smooth interfaces are important to assist the advent of organic electronics. Here, we report on the layer-by-layer growth of the organic semiconductor molecule p-sexiphenyl (6P) on the transparent electrode material graphene. Low energy electron microscopy and micro low energy electron diffraction reveal the morphological and structural evolution of the thin film. The layer-by-layer growth of 6P on graphene proceeds by subsequent adding of {111} layers.  相似文献
