Precise lattice parameter measurements on dislocation-free gallium arsenide were described in Part I (preceding paper).2 Detailed chemical and electrical analyses of the same samples are described here. The predictions of simple chemical models are developed in the light of the analytical results. The significant observed increase in lattice parameter due to silicon doping, in contrast to the predicted decrease, is discussed.  相似文献

The essential elements of a P/CBDE program include the delineation of role-derived dietetic competencies, which are publicly stated in behavioral terms. The criteria used to measure the accomplishment of these competencies are criterion-referenced, and the student acquires the competencies at his own rate. Much confusion exists in differentiating between the essential characteristics and implementation modes. The use of modern technology and modular packaging of learning experiences does not automatically lead to a P/CBDE program. These are merely tools. The clear identification of competencies, objectives, and performance criteria are the essence of P/CBDE. Currently, dietetic educators are formulating competencies for their own programs. A national group of "experts" will need to be convened to develop competencies for the profession as a whole.  相似文献

On the basis of prior work integrating attachment theory and terror management theory, the authors propose a model of a tripartite security system consisting of dynamically interrelated attachment, self-esteem, and worldview processes. Four studies are presented that, combined with existing evidence, support the prediction derived from the model that threats to one component of the security system result in compensatory defensive activation of other components. Further, the authors predicted and found that individual differences in attachment style moderate the defenses. In Studies 1 and 2, attachment threats motivated worldview defense among anxiously attached participants and motivated self-enhancement (especially among avoidant participants), effects similar to those caused by mortality salience. In Studies 3 and 4, a worldview threat and a self-esteem threat caused attachment-related proximity seeking among fearful participants and avoidance of proximity among dismissing participants. Businesses have embraced the Internet to reap economic advantages through the use of Websites. Most Website design guidelines fail to address issues of branding and identity formation, focusing instead on concerns adapted from previous technologies. However, many firms are not getting their desired results from the Website investments they have made following design guidelines reflecting graphic layout and system usability issues. We suggest that Websites should be considered ‘electronic storefronts’ or public work areas providing frames of symbolic representations that create impressions of their sponsoring firms. Our exploratory study shows that Websites influence potential customers' impressions of firms' legitimacy, innovation and caring, and that these impressions vary significantly across firms and industries. Website visitors encounter symbols that are compared to mental models stored in memory and used to form impressions of the site and to draw inferences about the firm. These inferences have previously been found to influence purchasing behavior. Designers should be cognizant of these aspects of e-Business and executives should recognize the power of Web-based impression management. Identity management must take center stage in creating a Web presence.  相似文献

The heavy-chain and kappa light-chain variable region genes of an antizearalenone hybridoma cell line (2G3-6E3-2E2) were isolated by PCR and joined by a DNA linker encoding peptide (Gly4Ser)3 as a single-chain Fv (scFv) DNA fragment. The scFv DNA fragment was cloned into a phagemid (pCANTAB5E) and expressed as a fusion protein with E tag and phage M13 p3 in Escherichia coli TG1. In the presence of helper phage M13K07, the scFv fusion protein was displayed on the surfaces of recombinant phages. High-affinity scFv phages were enriched through affinity selection in microtiter wells coated with zearalenone-ovalbumin conjugate. The selected recombinant phages were used to infect E. coli HB2151 for the production of soluble scFv antibodies. One selected clone (pQY1.5) in HB2151 secreted a soluble scFv antibody (QY1.5) with a high zearalenone-binding affinity (concentration required for 50% inhibition of binding, 14 ng/ml), similar to that of parent monoclonal antibody in a competitive indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. However, scFv QY1.5 exhibited higher cross-reactivity with zearalenone analogs and had greater sensitivity to methanol destabilization than the parent monoclonal antibody did. Nucleotide sequence analyses revealed that the light-chain portion of scFv QY1.5 had a nucleotide sequence identity of 97% to a mouse germ line gene VK23.32 in mouse kappa light-chain variable region subgroup V, whereas the heavy-chain nucleotide sequence was classified as mouse heavy-chain subgroup III (D) but without any closely related members having highly homologous complementarity-determining region sequences. The potential of soluble scFv QY1.5 for routine screening of zearalenone and its analogs was demonstrated with zearalenone-spiked corn extracts.  相似文献

Adult mesenchymal stem cells were reported more than 30 years ago. Since then, their potential to repair and regenerate damaged or diseased tissues has been studied intensively in both preclinical models and human trials. Most of the need for such tissue repair/regeneration is in older populations, so much of the effort has been performed with autologous cells in older patients. However, success has been difficult to achieve. In the literature, it has been noted that such progenitor cells from younger individuals often behave with more vigorous activity and are functionally enhanced compared to those from older individuals or animals. In addition, cells with the characteristics of mesenchymal stem cells or pluripotent mesenchymal regulatory cells exist in nearly all tissues and organs as pericytes since fetal life. Such evidence raises the possibility that one of the primary roles of these organ-specific cells is to regulate organ growth and maturation, and then subsequently play a role in the maintenance of organ integrity. This review will discuss the evidence to support this concept and the implications of such a concept regarding the use of these progenitor cells for the repair and regeneration of tissues damaged by injury or disease later in life. For the latter, it may be necessary to return the organ-specific progenitor cells to the functional state that contributed to their effectiveness during growth and maturation rather than attempting to use them after alterations imposed during the aging process have been established and their function compromised.  相似文献

Vertically aligned carbon nanotube (CNT) forests may be used as miniature springs, compliant thermal interfaces, and shock absorbers, and for these and other applications it is vital to understand how to engineer their mechanical properties. Herein is investigated how the diameter and packing density within CNT forests govern their deformation behavior, structural stiffness, and elastic energy absorption properties. The mechanical behavior of low‐density CNT forests grown by fixed catalyst CVD methods and high‐density CNT forests grown by a floating catalyst CVD method are studied by in situ SEM compression testing and tribometer measurements of force‐displacement relationships. Low‐density and small‐diameter CNT columns (fixed catalyst) exhibit large plastic deformation and can be pre‐deformed to act as springs within a specified elastic range, whereas high‐density and large‐diameter CNT columns (floating catalyst) exhibit significant elastic recovery after deformation. In this work the energy absorption capacity of CNT forests is tuned over three orders of magnitude and it is shown that CNT forest density can be tuned over a range of conventional foam materials, but corresponding stiffness is ~10× higher. It is proposed that the elastic behavior of CNT forests is analogous to open‐cell foams and a simple model is presented. It is also shown that this model can be useful as a first‐order design tool to establish design guidelines for the mechanical properties of CNT forests and selection of the appropriate synthesis method.  相似文献

对一种新合成的两性界面活性剂N,N,N-三甲胺-N′-油酸酰亚胺在二维通道内的减阻特性进行了实验研究.为了能进行低温测试,以20%的甘醇不冻液为溶剂.溶液质量浓度范围为(5×10-5)~(1×10-3),测试温度为-5℃和25℃.用粒子成像测速仪对减阻流动的湍流特性进行了测量.实验表明,这种新型界面活性剂溶液呈现明显减阻特性,且减阻特性与浓度和温度均有很大的关系,最大减阻值可高达83%.该界面活性剂中加入NaNO2,在低温和低浓度条件下能有效改善减阻效果,而在常温和高浓度条件下反而降低减阻效果.添加界面活性剂抑制了湍流速度脉动和湍流涡脉动,使雷诺剪切应力完全消失.  相似文献
