An electron-beam-induced-current technique has been applied to scanning transmission electron microscopy to characterize GaN/AlGaN/n-Si heterostructures. The structure was formed by metalorganic vapor phase epitaxy using AlGaN as an intermediate layer. Two samples with nominal intermediate layer thicknesses of 60 and 120 nm were studied. It was found that there is a junction in the n-type Si region underneath the nitride/Si interface irrespective of the intermediate layer thickness, whereas induced current occurred neither in the nitride region nor at the nitride/Si interface. The junction formed was found to be undulated. The sample with the thin intermediate layer had undulations of a shorter periodicity than that with the thick intermediate layer. The formation of the junction is attributed to the diffusion of Al during the nitride growth. 相似文献

Recently environmental control is regarded as important for good human health conditions, and toxic substances, including carcinogens and endocrine disruptors should be eliminated from our living environment. Hence easy quantitative methods are expected for a high level of environmental control. Our previous paper describes an easy quantitative analysis of nitrosamines (NAs) by capillary electrophoresis with an untreated fused silica capillary installed in an ordinary apparatus. In this paper, utilizing a novel type capillary column having sulfonated inner wall was investigated for improvements of separation performance and reproducibility. A sulfonated capillary causes fast and stabile electroosmotic flow because its inner wall is strongly negative charged. On a performance comparison of a sulfonated capillary with an untreated fused silica, analysis time reduction of c.a. forty percent was achieved, and relative standard deviations of migration times and peak responses were less than one third. In addition sample concentrations giving detection and quantitation limits were also reduced to a half. 相似文献

Various stresses latently induce cellular senescence that occasionally deteriorates the functioning of surrounding tissues. Nevertheless, little is known about the appearance and function of senescent cells, caused by the implantation of beta-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP)—used widely in dentistry and orthopedics for treating bone diseases. In this study, two varying sizes of β-TCP granules (<300 μm and 300–500 μm) were implanted, and using histological and immunofluorescent staining, appearances of senescent-like cells in critical-sized bone defects in the calvaria of Sprague Dawley rats were evaluated. Parallelly, bone formation in defects was investigated with or without the oral administration of senolytics (a cocktail of dasatinib and quercetin). A week after the implantation, the number of senescence-associated beta-galactosidase, p21-, p19-, and tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase-positive cells increased and then decreased upon administrating senolytics. This administration of senolytics also attenuated 4-hydroxy-2-nonenal staining, representing reactive oxygen species. Combining senolytic administration with β-TCP implantation significantly enhanced the bone formation in defects as revealed by micro-computed tomography analysis and hematoxylin-eosin staining. This study demonstrates that β-TCP granules latently induce senescent-like cells, and senolytic administration may improve the bone-forming ability of β-TCP by inhibiting senescence-associated mechanisms. 相似文献

Application of an optical measuring technique was attempted in order to develop harmonic voltage and current measuring instruments for distribution systems. To develop the harmonic voltage measuring system using a Bi12GeO20 crystal as a sensing Pockels cell for high‐voltage distribution lines, zinc oxide elements were adopted as a voltage divider. Also, an optical current sensor system was improved on the harmonic current measuring system using an R3Fe5O12 film as a Faraday device. In practical three‐phase distribution systems, the developed high voltage harmonic measuring devices using the optical voltage sensor and current sensor were compared with conventional harmonic analyzers for low voltage. Hydroxyapatite powder was synthesized and formed into a compact in an aqueous medium using a filter-cake method. The compact was hot isostatically pressed at 700° to 1000°C and 100 MPa for 2 h. A new method was investigated for high-accuracy fine finishing of gear teeth surfaces using a water-lubricated tribo-chemical technique. A pair of shaved gears with rather low surface roughness was rotated in water lubricant for 30 min so that the gear tooth surface contacting the mating tooth was ‘worn’ to a mirror surface and ideal tooth profile, due to the mechano-chemical mild erosion of the contact area. The wear rate was 2.0 μm per 20,000 meshings, corresponding to a wear of one atomic radius thickness per meshing. Oxidation of the steel surface by water molecules is proposed as the dominant wear process. Operation noise from the gear pair rotation was drastically reduced to lower than about 10–15 dB compared to conventionally machined gear surfaces (30 dB in average), as a result of the wear of the tooth surface to form a best-fit profile. The noise increased with further processing of the gear pair. Thus, there is an appropriate number of rotations for suitable surface wear treatment. This new and simple procedure for surface treatment assures saving in energy, and does not require expensive honing techniques or high-accuracy grinding tools.The wear mechanisms used in this process are discussed along with the application of the technique to other processes for precision finishing. 相似文献

Hydrogenated amorphous carbon (a-C:H) films were grown at room temperature on glass and polished silicon substrates using RF-PECVD (Radio-Frequency Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition). Plasmas composed by 30% of acetylene and 70% of argon were excited by the application of RF signal to the sample holder with power ranging from 5 to 125 W. After deposition, the films were submitted to SF6-plasma treatment for 5 minutes. SF6 plasmas were generated at a pressure of 13.3 Pa by a RF power supply operating at 13.56 MHz with the output fixed at 70 W. The resulting films were characterized in terms of their molecular structure, chemical composition, surface morphology, thickness, contact angle, and surface free energy. During the SF6 plasma treatment, fluorine species were incorporated in the film structure causing chemical alterations. The interaction of chemical species generated in the SF6 plasmas with surface species was responsible for the decrease of the film thickness and surface energy, and for the increase of the film roughness and hydrophobicity. 相似文献

Volatile components of the larval osmeterial secretion ofParnassius glacialis (Parnassiinae, Parnassiini) consisted of isobutyric acid, 2-methylbutyric acid, and their methyl esters. In contrast, the osmeterial exudate ofSericinus montela (Parnassiinae, Zerynthiini) was characterized as monoterpene hydrocarbons comprising-myrcene (Major),-pinene, sabinene, limonene, and-phellandrene, whereas that ofPachliopta aristolochiae (Papilioninae, Troidini) was composed of numerous sesquiterpene hydrocarbons, including-himachalene,-amorphene, and germacrene-A, and a few oxygenated sesquiterpenoids. We report the case of a 34 year old woman with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) due to methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) sepsis with hyperimmunoglobulin E syndrome (HIES). Although chemotactic activity of neutrophils was impaired in this patient, neutrophils accumulated in the lungs as assessed by bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) counts. In addition to antibiotics and oxygen therapy, the administration of recombinant human granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (rhG-CSF) resulted in a remarkable recovery. 相似文献
