This paper shows that an important part of the power consumption of a biquad band‐pass filter is associated with the feedback loop that fixes the high‐pass frequency and blocks the direct current (dc) input signals. The dc input amplitude that can be blocked is related to the maximum output current that one of the transconductors can provide, hence impacting on the required consumption through this effect. Then, a technique that efficiently blocks the dc input signal and fixes the high‐pass frequency is introduced and analyzed in depth. Moreover, an architecture for ultra‐low‐power differential‐input biquads is fully presented. The proposed architecture enables lowering the power consumption or blocking higher levels of dc input without jeopardizing the power consumption. Results show that the proposed architecture, compared with a traditional one, presents a 30% reduction in power consumption and more than doubles the dc input that can be blocked. Annular folded imagers can be up to 10x thinner than corresponding full-aperture imagers, but have tight fabrication tolerances and relatively shallow depth of focus. Wavefront coding, the use of specialized optics with postdetection signal processing, has been used to improve the depth of focus in full-aperture imaging systems. Here we explore the application of wavefront coding to annular folded optics. We compare the design and experimental results for an imaging system with a 38 mm focal length and just 5 mm total track.  相似文献

Age-related changes in the capacity, rate, and modulation of dopamine (DA) uptake within the striatum and the nucleus accumbens core of Fischer 344 rats were investigated using in vivo electrochemical recordings coupled with local drug application techniques. Equimolar amounts of DA were pressure ejected into the striatum and the nucleus accumbens of 6-, 12-, 18-, and 24-month old rats. The DA ejections produced larger DA signal amplitudes in the older rats, suggesting age-related differences in the capacity to clear extracellular DA. Within the striatum, the capacity and rate of DA uptake were reduced by 50% in the aged groups (18 and 24 months) compared with the younger rats (6 and 12 months). In the nucleus accumbens, significant reductions in DA uptake capacity and rate were observed in the 24-month group. In both brain regions and in all age groups studied, the rate of DA uptake was found to be concentration-dependent until a maximal rate was reached. The maximum rate of DA transport was significantly reduced in both the striatum and the nucleus accumbens of aged rats (18 and 24 months versus 6 and 12 months). The ability of nomifensine, an inhibitor of the DA transporter, to modulate DA signal amplitudes in the striatum and the nucleus accumbens was also decreased with age (24 months versus 6 months). Taken together, these findings demonstrate substantial age-related deficits in DA uptake processes within the striatum and the nucleus accumbens, consistent with the hypothesis that DA uptake may be slowed in aged animals to compensate for reductions in DA release.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Therapy with intravenous unfractionated heparin improves clinical outcome in patients with active thromboembolic disease, but achieving and maintaining a therapeutic level of anticoagulation remains a major challenge for clinicians. METHODS: A total of 113 patients requiring heparin for at least 48 hours were randomly assigned at 7 medical centers to either weight-adjusted or non-weight-adjusted dose titration. They were separately assigned to either laboratory-based or point-of-care (bedside) coagulation monitoring. RESULTS: Weight-adjusted heparin dosing yielded a higher mean activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT) value 6 hours after treatment initiation than non-weight-adjusted dosing (99.9 vs 78.8 seconds; P =.002) and reduced the time required to exceed a minimum threshold (aPTT >45 seconds) of anticoagulation (10.5 vs 8.6 hours; P =.002). Point-of-care coagulation monitoring significantly reduced the time from blood sample acquisition to a heparin infusion adjustment (0.4 vs 1.6 hours; P <.0001) and to reach the therapeutic aPTT range (51 to 80 seconds) (16.1 vs 19.4 hours; P =.24) compared with laboratory monitoring. Although a majority of patients participating in the study surpassed the minimum threshold of anticoagulation within the first 12 hours and reached the target aPTT within 24 hours, maintaining the aPTT within the therapeutic range was relatively uncommon (on average 30% of the overall study period) and did not differ between treatment or monitoring strategies. CONCLUSIONS: Weight-adjusted heparin dosing according to a standardized titration nomogram combined with point-of-care coagulation monitoring using the BMC Coaguchek Plus System represents an effective and widely generalizable strategy for managing patients with thromboembolic disease that fosters the rapid achievement of a desired range of anticoagulation. Additional work is needed, however, to improve on existing patient-specific strategies that can more effectively sustain a therapeutic state of anticoagulation.  相似文献

Macrophages and lymphocytes demonstrate metabolic plasticity, which is dependent partly on their state of activation and partly on the availability of various energy yielding and biosynthetic substrates (fatty acids, glucose, and amino acids). These substrates are essential to fuel-based metabolic reprogramming that supports optimal immune function, including the inflammatory response. In this review, we will focus on metabolism in macrophages and lymphocytes and discuss the role of fatty acids in governing the phenotype, activation, and functional status of these important cells. We summarize the current understanding of the pathways of fatty acid metabolism and related mechanisms of action and also explore possible new perspectives in this exciting area of research.  相似文献

In this study we present a full characterization of nanovesicles containing soybean phosphatidylcholine and polysaccharide chitosan. The nanovesicles were prepared by the reverse phase evaporation method, including the preparation of reverse micelles followed by the formation of an organogel, which is dispersed in water to yield the final liposomal particles. Structural changes as a function of the chitosan amount and the filter porosity used in the nanovesicles preparation were studied employing Static and Dynamic Light Scattering as well as Small Angle X-ray Scattering. The hydrodynamic radius of the nanovesicles ranged between 106 and 287 nm, depending on the chitosan contents and the filter porosity. A comparison with nanovesicles free of chitosan indicates the existence of higher contents of multilamellar structures that depends on the chitosan concentration in the vesicles containing chitosan. Typical spherical vesicles having nanometric diameters with polydispersity mostly desired in the biomedical area could only be achieved by filtration through a 0.45 microm porous filter.  相似文献

In situ Laue analysis during microcompression reveals plasticity in [0 0 1]-oriented, directionally solidified Mo alloy pillars to start with slip on the {1 1 2}〈1 1 1〉 system having the highest Schmid factor followed by slip on the (1 1 0) plane containing the same Burgers vector. Electrical characterization and magnetic nanocomposite resin seeds Pterodon emarginatus (PE) doped with nanoparticles of maghemite and treated by different chemical processes is reported in this paper. The pure PE resin showed semiconducting characteristics probably the presence of natural iron oxide in its molecular structure. The analysis of M?ssbauer spectra pure resin showed two magnetic sites presented on measurements made at temperature of 300 K. Six "LEDs" to have been doped maghemite nanoparticles forming concentrations of 2.6 x 10(15) to 1.56 x 10(16) particles/cm2 forming the LED-PEMN. In the presence of the applied current versus voltage (0 to 0.9 V) LED-PEMN shown semiconducting properties. In the presence of frequency versus voltage sample of pure resin and LED features small decrease. While samples of LED-PEMN suffers loss frequency linearly with concentration and voltage. The pure PE resin shows high resistance to the applied voltage while the LED-PEMN is observed linear increase with the strength and concentration of nanoparticles of maghemite.  相似文献

Wood gasification technologies to convert the biomass into fuel gas stand out. On the other hand, producing electrical energy from stationary engine is widely spread, and its application in rural communities where the electrical network doesn’t exist is very required. The recovery of exhaust gases (engine) is a possibility that makes the system attractive when compared with the same components used to obtain individual heat such as electric power. This paper presents an energetic alternative to adapt a fixed bed gasifier with a compact cogeneration system in order to cover electrical and thermal demands in a rural area and showing an energy solution for small social communities using renewable fuels. Therefore, an energetic and economical analysis from a cogeneration system producing electric energy, hot and cold water, using wooden gas as fuel from a small-sized gasifier was calculated. The energy balance that includes the energy efficiency (electric generation as well as hot and cold water system; performance coefficient and the heat exchanger, among other items), was calculated. Considering the annual interest rates and the amortization periods, the costs of production of electrical energy, hot and cold water were calculated, taking into account the investment, the operation and the maintenance cost of the equipments.  相似文献
