In this letter, we present the design and fabrication of a novel ZnO-based film bulk acoustic wave resonator (FBAR) microwave devices. The novel FBAR devices employ a new-type of Bragg reflector with very thin chromium (Cr) layer formed between SiO2 and W films. The Cr layer seems to enhance the adhesion between SiO2 and W layers. The novel FBAR devices show good return losses (S11) and high Q-factors at the frequency range of 2.7-3.0 GHz. This approach will be very helpful for mobile worldwide interoperability for microwave access applications.  相似文献

A methodology for studying the deagglomeration performance and emptying behavior of micronized mannitol powder from two commercial capsule-based dry powder inhalers (DPIs), the low- and high-resistance RS01®, is presented. Mathematical modeling played a key role in the interpretation of the powder release behavior from these two DPI systems. Non-linear regression models, which were characterized from the aerosol obscuration versus time profiles obtained from laser diffraction particle sizing data, were used to estimate rate constants for emptying of mannitol powder. The effects of device resistance and associated pressure drops, sampling flow rate, rates of powder emptying, and the presence of capsule on the dispersion characteristics were studied. The presence of a capsule significantly improved the aerosolization performance of mannitol powder from both inhalers, which may be due to the extended powder–air–device interactions within the device. It is important to consider the stochastic nature of movement and physical state of the capsule when assessing the aerosolization mechanisms and dispersion performance from these complex delivery systems. The methodology set out in this study has the capacity to provide a greater level of detail in the study of aerosol plume characteristics from capsule-based DPIs.

A crystal plasticity finite element model has been developed to study the effect of friction between the die wall and the billet on texture evolution during equal channel angular pressing of an aluminum single crystal. Four cases with different coefficients of friction μ = 0, 0.05, 0.1, and 0.15 have been simulated. It has been found that the friction of μ = 0.05 and 0.1 can capture the major texture features shown in the experimental results, and μ = 0.05 predicts a slightly better texture than μ = 0.1. The frictional condition significantly affects texture evolution in the region between 1/2 and 3/4 of the billet thickness from the top surface. It can be attributed to the effect of friction on the corner gap and the distribution of stresses in the die corner.  相似文献

Human stem-cell factor (hSCF) stimulates the survival, proliferation, and differentiation of hematopoietic cells by binding to the c-Kit receptor. Various applications of hSCF require the efficient and reliable production of hSCF. hSCF exists in three forms: as two membrane-spanning proteins hSCF248 and hSCF229 and truncated soluble N-terminal protein hSCF164. hSCF164 is known to be insoluble when expressed in Escherichia coli cytoplasm, requiring a complex refolding procedure. The activity of hSCF248 has never been studied. Here, we investigated novel production methods for recombinant hSCF164 and hSCF248 without the refolding process. To increase the solubility of hSCF164, maltose-binding protein (MBP) and protein disulfide isomerase b’a’ domain (PDIb’a’) tags were attached to the N-terminus of hSCF164. These fusion proteins were overexpressed in soluble form in the Origami 2(DE3) E. coli strain. These solubilization effects were enhanced at a low temperature. His-hSCF248, the poly-His tagged form of hSCF248, was expressed in a highly soluble form without a solubilization tag protein, which was unexpected because His-hSCF248 contains a transmembrane domain. hSCF164 was purified using affinity and ion-exchange chromatography, and His-hSCF248 was purified by ion-exchange and gel filtration chromatography. The purified proteins stimulated the proliferation of TF-1 cells. Interestingly, the EC50 value of His-hSCF248 was 1 pg/mL, 100-fold lower than 9 ng/mL hSCF164. Additionally, His-hSCF248 decreased the doubling time, increased the proportion of S and G2/M stages in the cell cycle, and increased the c-Myc expression at a 1000-fold lower concentration than hSCF164. In conclusion, His-hSCF248 was expressed in a soluble form in E. coli and had stronger activity than hSCF164. The molecular chaperone, MBP, enabled the soluble overexpression of hSCF164.  相似文献

Cell localisation in the matrix microstructure of fermented food is important for microbial activity and ripening. To evaluate the importance of physicochemical factors in these phenomena, the physicochemical behaviour of four strains of lactic acid bacteria were investigated after inoculation of raw milk or milk fractions. To discriminate between physicochemical and metabolic properties, media were (i) rapidly acidified to avoid cell division or (ii) bacteria were allowed to ferment milk. To evaluate the impact of milk components, cells were dispersed in protein or fatty globule fractions. From two Lactococcus lactis subsp. lactis biovar. diacetylactis strains selected from their different surface properties investigated in previous studies, after rapid acidification one was encountered in fatty globules and protein gels whereas the other was found in serum and on the surface of globules. After fermentation, the first one formed colonies in the lipid phase or next to it in the whey and the second formed colonies in the protein gel. Strains forming long chains (Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilus) were always found in contact with fatty globules, where they developed. Our results suggest that localisation and subsequent spatial colonisation depend on the physicochemical properties of cell surfaces, on the structure in chains as well as on the metabolic ability to develop on proteins or lipids.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Polypyrrole (PPy) was prepared on the mild steel substrate by electrochemical polymerisation in the solution containing pyrrole monomer and succinic acid. The mild steel surface could be passivated before and during electropolymerisation by molybdate. The morphology and structure of the PPy film were studied with SEM. The typical cauliflower structure of PPy was observed. Raman and IR spectroscopy showed that the obtained PPy was in an oxidised state. The thermal stability of PPy was investigated by the thermal gravimetric analysis, showing that PPy was stable at higher than 480°C. The electrochemical property of the PPy film was performed by open circuit potential, polarisation curves (I/E), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The corrosion behaviour of mild steel (CT3) with PPy film in solution NaCl 3% was studied.

Proper control of environmental factors can be crucial to the identification of genes that influence susceptibility to a complex trait, especially for a trait such as lung cancer, for which the environmental factor (smoking) accounts for a significant etiologic fraction of the disease. An earlier segregation analysis of 337 Louisiana families, which incorporated direct measure of tobacco consumption, provided evidence for autosomal codominant inheritance of a major gene that influenced age at onset of lung cancer. Subsequent analyses were performed in which the families were stratified into two subsets based on birth cohort of the proband; results suggested the presence of heterogeneity that were postulated to reflect the influence of cohort trends in tobacco consumption. To evaluate this hypothesis further, we simulated a population of three-generation pedigrees in which an autosomal dominant mode of susceptibility to lung cancer was transmitted, but tobacco use varied across generations corresponding to published trends in smoking. A total of 200,000 individuals in families of various sizes, ages, and cigarette smoking habits were simulated from 1900 to 1980. From this population, 324 families (2,405 individuals) with 380 cases of lung cancer were ascertained through 328 lung cancer probands. Complex segregation analysis was performed using the REGTL program of S.A.G.E. in which pack-years of tobacco exposure were incorporated directly into the likelihood calculations. Although the no major gene, environmental, and Mendelian recessive hypotheses were rejected, both dominant and codominant transmission provided a good fit to the data. Thus in a population of simulated families with autosomal dominant susceptibility to lung cancer, intergenerational differences in tobacco consumption led to the detection of autosomal codominant transmission as an acceptable hypothesis. These results underscore the potential danger of segregation analysis of complex traits in which exposure to known environmental influences may differ across generations.  相似文献
