A significant decrease in the total number of mitotically dividing cells (per 1 crypt), especially in the lower portions of the intestine, was observed in rats with avitaminosis A. The levelling of differences in the number of goblet cells in the upper and lower portions of the intestine was also recorded in the animals with avitaminosis A. A new biologically active supplement (BAS) for infant food was tested at an Infant's Home. BAS-IG contains lactoglobulin, an immune preparation against colibacillus and Proteus. During the primary examination of the infants in the Infant's Home intestinal dysbacteriosis was revealed in 100% of the infants, clinical signs of dysbacteriosis were detected in 88.4% of the infants. Two successive courses of feeding the infants with products enriched with the new supplement resulted in a significant improvement of the microflora composition in them and in normalizing their clinical condition. Investigations conducted on athletes have shown that combinations of trace elements (Fe, Cu and Mn) in biotic doses with vitamins, glutamic acid or dibasol produce a favourable effect on trace element metabolism, and on the body functions. Enrichment of food rations with vitamins only, using no trace elements, drastically increased the secretion of Fe, Cu and Mn from the body. The composition of fatty acids and the content of total serum lipids were studied in 65 virtually healthy premature infants on varying types of feeding, natural and mixed ones (supplemented with kefir and a mixture of the "Similak" type). It was established that the composition of blood serum fatty acids in premature infants on natural feeding is marked by age-specific features. The differences in the content of blood serum fatty acids among children on natural feeding and those whose food was supplemented by kefir and a mixture of the "Similak" type were consequent on the specificity of lipid fatty acids from the food given. Good tolerance, adequate weight gain and a high content of indispensable fatty acids in blood serum were attained as a result of the research described. Integrated assessment models have been used to project both baseline and mitigation greenhouse gas emissions scenarios. Results of these scenarios are typically presented for a number of world regions and end-use sectors, such as industry, transport, and buildings. Analysts interested in particular technologies and policies, however, require more detailed information to understand specific mitigation options in relation to business-as-usual trends. This paper presents sectoral trend for two of the scenarios produced by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's Special Report on Emissions Scenarios. Global and regional historical trends in energy use and carbon dioxide emissions over the past 30 years are examined and contrasted with projections over the next 30 years. Macro-activity indicators are analyzed as well as trends in sectoral energy and carbon demand. This paper also describes a methodology to calculate primary energy and carbon dioxide emissions at the sector level, accounting for the full energy and emissions due to sectoral activities. 相似文献
