An 80 GHz optical clock signal was successfully recovered from a 160 Gbit/s data stream using a regeneratively modelocking scheme of a semiconductor modelocked laser (MLLD). To handle an 80 GHz electrical signal, the MLLD integrated with a high-mesa electroabsorption modulator and a W-band UTC-PD module are used in this scheme.  相似文献

Recent research activities in the field of advanced semiconductor lasers are reviewed with emphasis on highly stable single-wavelength lasers and surface-emitting (SE) lasers for wideband lightwave communication systems and optical parallel information processing. The operational characteristics of DSM (dynamic single-mode) lasers are summarized and requirements for high-performance operation as light sources for high-speed transmission or coherent communications are described. A type of DSM laser called the distributed-reflector (DR) laser is described as an advanced DSM laser which enables high efficiency, high power, and narrow linewidth operations. Specific features and the potential of SE lasers are summarized. Research activities and remaining problems to be solved for a breakthrough in optical parallel information processing are presented. The potential of multidimensional quantum-well structures, such as QW lasers and quantum-box lasers, is discussed in terms of superior characteristics in both stationary and dynamic operations. The present fabrication technologies for realizing high-performance lasers based on multidimensional QW structures are also presented  相似文献

We characterized the properties of the interaction between synapsin I and calspectin using purified proteins. The binding assay in the native state using antibodies specific to the tail region of synapsin I revealed that the binding is a high affinity with Kd of 9 nM, which is almost comparable to that of synapsin I to synaptic vesicles and to F-actin. We demonstrated that the head-middle region of synapsin I binds the NH2-terminal domain of beta subunit of calspectin, which also contains an actin binding site. Furthermore, the interaction was significantly inhibited by phosphorylation of synapsin I by cAMP-dependent protein kinase or by Ca2+, calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II. These properties of the interaction between synapsin I and calspectin may help understanding of its modulatory roles in neurotransmitter release.  相似文献

Plasma potassium concentration plays an important role in the induction of arrhythmia and is closely related to the arrhythmogenicity of various drugs. We quantitatively analyzed the influence of plasma potassium concentration on QT intervals before drug administration and on drug-induced QT prolongation, to estimate the risk of drug-induced arrhythmia under hypokalaemic conditions. The hypokalaemic models were produced by intraperitoneal administration of furosemide and hydrochlorothiazide in male Sprague-Dawley rats. The relationship between the changes in QT intervals and time profiles of plasma quinidine (QND) concentration were analyzed during constant intravenous infusion of QND (10 or 30 mg/kg/h) and post infusion in normal and hypokalaemic rats. The plasma QND concentration reached the therapeutic range (3-7 microg/ml) at the high infusion rate (30 mg/kg/h). No pharmacokinetic differences between normal and hypokalaemic rats were observed. QND induced QT prolongation in parallel with the plasma concentration without hysteresis. Although the potency of QND for QT prolongation was not affected by hypokalaemia, the QT intervals before drug administration were significantly prolonged in hypokalaemic rats (65.90 +/- 1.40 vs 56.60 +/- 0.748 msec, mean +/- SEM, p < 0.0001). Thus, the prolongation of QT intervals before drug administration may act as a risk factor of arrhythmia under hypokalaemic conditions.  相似文献

To address the problems of pharmacological evaluation in paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (PAf), we interviewed 108 consecutive patients with documented PAf regarding symptoms, frequency and trigger factors of PAf and analyzed the 24-hour ambulatory electrocardiographic monitoring (Holter monitoring) records in relation to symptoms. Twenty-nine patients were totally asymptomatic, while 79 patients were symptomatic of which 49 patients had obvious trigger factors. PAf was documented by Holter monitoring in 22 of 79 symptomatic patients. On analysis of PAf-documented 25 Holter monitoring records, the patients checked event marks as PAf in only 20 of 155 PAf episodes. Six episodes of 26 event marks that patients thought to be PAf proved to be premature atrial or ventricular contractions. Nine patients in whom PAf persisted for more than 24 hours became asymptomatic. Patients suitable for pharmacological evaluation constituted about one-fifth of the PAf patients in our consecutive study. Even with the selection of these patients, pharmacological evaluation based on symptoms is difficult because disappearance of PAf may be associated with persistent atrial fibrillation.  相似文献

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the central benzodiazepine (BZP) receptor binding of iomazenil (IMZ) by pharmacokinetic analysis and to establish a methodology for the diagnosis of CNS disorders with abnormalities in BZP receptor binding. METHODS: BZP receptor binding of IMZ was analyzed kinetically using plasma concentration-time profiles and dynamic single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) data obtained after the intravenous administration of IMZ to patients with neuropsychiatric disease. The analysis was based on a 3-compartmental model including the processes of both blood-brain barrier (BBB) transport and BZP receptor binding. RESULTS: Hydrolized metabolite of IMZ was detected in plasma, indicating the need for separation by HPLC. The BBB influx clearance and the receptor binding potential of IMZ in the medial temporal region was reduced in the epileptic patient. CONCLUSIONS: Our findings suggest the possibility of detecting the epileptic focus by using our method.  相似文献

Detailed results on stripe GaxIn1-xAsyP1-y/InP lasers (lambda = 1.3 mum) with chemically etched-mirrors are reviewed. These devices are fabricated from GaInAsP/InP wafers grown by liquid phase epitaxy. A simple stripe laser structure with one etched mirror and one cleaved mirror is proposed. Monolithic passivation has been achieved using a Si3N4film and metal coatings on the etched facets. These processes not only increase the reflectivity of the etched mirrors, resulting in threshold currents even lower than uncoated cleaved devices, but also ease the problem of bonding of the chips on heat sinks. CW operation at room temperature has been achieved. Threshold currents of devices with 10 μm stripe electrodes were about 180-200 mA. Short cavity lasers and integrated monitoring detectors have also been demonstrated.  相似文献

-A GaInAsP/InP surface emitting injection laser (lambda = 1.2 mum) with a ring electrode has been fabricated. In this structure we separated the reflecting mirror from the p-side electrode in order to increase the reflectivity. Threshold current was 90 mA at 77 K and the operating temperature has been raised up to -85°C. The cavity length was 7.5 μm and single longitudinal mode operation was achieved.  相似文献

A novel mode scrambler for multimode optical waveguides is proposed to stabilise branching characteristics against the mode excitation conditio. A 2 × 2 optical star coupler is fabricated using this mode scrambler, and a stable branching ratio is realised with an excess insertion loss of 2.7 dB.  相似文献
