A novel derivation is given of the decomposition of a hypersingular integral over the boundary S of a smooth 3D body into a one-dimensional integral and a regular integral over S. S is parameterized by a map q(θ,) of the unit sphere, with q(0,) at the collocation point. The integrand for the normal derivative of the field from a double-layer density is expanded in powers of a function of θ, and the distance z from S. The singularities are contained in the initial terms and give rise to the one-dimensional integral in the limit . The remainder is regular, in the limit equal to the hypersingular integrand with θ −2 and θ −1 terms removed. The decomposition is used to solve a standard and a hypersingular BIE for acoustic scattering, by identical high-order discretizations. Estimates of the error of the two solutions are computed to verify that their convergence rates are equal.  相似文献

Factors affecting the adsorption and desorption of toremifene citrate (TC) on sintered silica xerogels were investigated in vitro. TC was attached onto sol-gel processed sintered silica xerogel grains or disks by adsorption. The adsorption of TC on the surface of silica was pH dependent. The results support the conclusion that large pore size results in highest drug adsorption. Adsorption of TC was most effective in xerogels sintered at 700°C and containing the largest pores and lowest specific surface area of the silica xerogels studied in the adsorption tests. The release of TC from the xerogel matrix was linear with respect to the square root of time. The release of TC from the grains was very rapid for the first 5 hr, followed by a slower release. All drug was released from the grains, and 60% to 80% was released from the disks in 24 hr. All drug-silica xerogel formulations showed sustained in vitro release profiles.  相似文献

Basement membrane (BM) zone-associated collagen XV (ColXV) has been shown to suppress the malignancy of tumour cells, and its restin domain can inhibit angiogenesis. In human breast cancer, as well as in many other human carcinomas, ColXV is lost from the epithelial BM zone prior to tumour invasion. Here, we addressed the roles of ColXV in breast carcinogenesis using the transgenic MMTV-PyMT mouse mammary carcinoma model. We show here for the first time that the inactivation of Col15a1 in mice leads to changes in the fibrillar tumour matrix and to increased mammary tumour growth. ColXV is expressed by myoepithelial and endothelial cells in mammary tumours and is lost from the ductal BM along with the loss of the myoepithelial layer during cancer progression while persisting in blood vessels and capillaries, even in invasive tumours. However, despite the absence of anti-angiogenic restin domain, neovascularisation was reduced rather than increased in the ColXV-deficient mammary tumours compared to controls. We also show that, in robust tumour cell transplantation models or in a chemical-induced fibrosarcoma model, the inactivation of Col15a1 does not affect tumour growth or angiogenesis. In conclusion, our results support the proposed tumour suppressor function of ColXV in mammary carcinogenesis and reveal diverse roles of this collagen in different cancer types.  相似文献

Understanding the effects of large‐scale wind power generation on the electric power system is growing in importance as the amount of installed generation increases. In addition to wind speed, the direction of the wind is important when considering wind farms, as the aggregate generation of the farm depends on the direction of the wind. This paper introduces the wrapped Gaussian vector autoregressive process for the statistical modeling of wind directions in multiple locations. The model is estimated using measured wind direction data from Finland. The presented methodology can be used to model new locations without wind direction measurements. This capability is tested with two locations that were left out of the estimation procedure. Through long‐term Monte Carlo simulations, the methodology is used to analyze two large‐scale wind power scenarios with different geographical distributions of installed generation. Wind generation data are simulated for each wind farm using wind direction and wind speed simulations and technical wind farm information. It is shown that, compared with only using wind speed data in simulations, the inclusion of simulated wind directions enables a more detailed analysis of the aggregate wind generation probability distribution. Extrusion process was developed to exploit blackcurrant juice press residues from industrial side-streams. Press residues obtained from conventional enzymatic pressing, with high content of fiber and seed oil, and novel non-enzymatic juice processing, with high content of sugars, fruit acids and anthocyanins, were extruded with barley flour, oat flour or oat bran. The recipes consisted of blackcurrant press residues (30%), cereal materials (40%) and potato starch (30%) and small amount of sugar and salt. When compared to enzymatic press residue and oat bran, the novel non-enzymatic press residue extruded with barley or oat flour had higher expansion, lower hardness and density, higher redness (a*), lower pH, and higher contents of fructose, glucose and fruit acids, all contributing positively to liking of texture, appearance, and flavor as well as berry-like experience. These characteristics were obtained with more gentle processing parameters, consisting of a lower total mass flow, screw speed and barrel temperature. Female consumers gave lower ratings in flavor, appearance and overall pleasantness for blackcurrant snacks than males. The study presented a sustainable way of utilizing industrial press residues from different processes of berry juice pressing for production of healthy snacks and breakfast cereals.  相似文献

Four cows were used in a balanced 4×4 Latin square with 2 week experimental periods to investigate the effects of intraruminal infusions of volatile fatty acids and protein source on milk production and blood metabolites. The four treatments in a 2×2 factorial arrangement were isoenergetic intraruminal infusions of propionate (500 g day−1) or butyrate (417 g day−1) each given with isonitrogenous protein supplementation of fish meal (FM) or barley protein (BP). The cows were fed restrictively with 9 kg dry matter day−1 of formic acid treated grass silage and 8 kg day−1 of concentrate. Propionate infusion increased milk yield (24·9 vs 23·4 kg day−1; P<0·05), milk protein yield (832 vs 778 g day−1; P=0·05) and milk lactose content (44·7 vs 43·5 g kg−1; P<0·05) and yield (1113 vs 1023 g day−1; P<0·01), whereas butyrate infusion was associated with a higher milk fat content (44·7 vs 39·4 g kg−1; P<0·01) and yield (1033 vs 974 g day−1; P<0·01). FM tended (P<0·10) to increase milk yield, but had no significant effects on milk composition or milk component yields compared with BP. Butyrate infusion increased blood ketones, plasma non-esterified fatty acids and glycine relative to propionate infusion. The concentrations of ammonia N in rumen fluid and urea in plasma and milk were similar for both protein supplements. The profile of amino acids in plasma was similar for both protein supplements except for the higher concentrations of phenylalanine, proline and tyrosine with BP. The results show that protein utilisation can be improved by increasing the supply of propionate from rumen fermentation in cows given a grass silage-based diet. © 1998 SCI.  相似文献

This paper studies the relative efficiency of variations of a tableau method for Boolean circuit satisfiability checking. The considered method is a nonclausal generalisation of the Davis–Putnam–Logemann–Loveland (DPLL) procedure to Boolean circuits. The variations are obtained by restricting the use of the cut (splitting) rule in several natural ways. It is shown that the more restricted variations cannot polynomially simulate the less restricted ones. For each pair of methods T, T′, an infinite family of circuits is devised for which T has polynomial size proofs while in T′ the minimal proofs are of exponential size w.r.t. n, implying exponential separation of T and T′ w.r.t. n. The results also apply to DPLL for formulas in conjunctive normal form obtained from Boolean circuits by using Tseitin’s translation. In the setting of symbolic dynamics on discrete finitely generated infinite groups, we define a model of finite automata with multiple independent heads that walk on Cayley graphs, called group-walking automata, and use it to define subshifts. We characterize the torsion groups (also known as periodic groups) as those on which the group-walking automata are strictly weaker than Turing machines, and those on which the head hierarchy is infinite.  相似文献

This study investigated the influence of pH of adsorption medium and co-adsorptive metal cations for the adsorption of potassium (K+) and magnesium (Mg2+) ions onto poly (vinylidene fluoride) grafted poly(acrylic acid) (PAA-PVDF) membrane. At pH 4.8, the adsorption of potassium and magnesium was minimal, because of nearly non-dissociated carboxylic acid groups of PAA-chains, but adsorption increased with increasing ion concentration. The interaction of the studied cations between PVDF-PAA membranes increased considerably at pH 7.0 the dissociation of carboxylic acid groups of PAA. The addition of ionic substances (calcium (Ca2+) and sodium (Na+) to the adsorption medium reduced the adsorption of potassium and magnesium onto the membrane, because of co-adsorption. Divalent calcium reduced more effectively than univalent sodium the adsorption of potassium and magnesium onto the membrane. In conclusion, co-adsorbing ions reduced the adsorbed amount of potassium and magnesium ions due to binding competition. The percentual adsorbed values suggest that adsorption affinity of studied ions onto the PVDF-PAA membrane followed the order Na+ < K+ < Mg2+ < Ca2+. The effect of metal cations on drug adsorption from biological fluids needs research in the future, because e.g. PVDF-PAA membrane has been used in drug separation processes.  相似文献
