The reaction of (NO + C3H8 + O2) can result in selective formation of NO2 over H-ZSM5, Cu,H-ZSM5, Ag,H-ZSM5, and Li,H-ZSM5 catalysts when the concentrations of NO and O2 are 0.1 and 9%, SV > 60,000 h−1 (typical for automotive exhausts), and C3H8/NO > 1. Despite stoichiometric excess of reductant hydrocarbon below this limit, the in situ formed NO2 does not react with C3H8, thus conversion of NO to N2 is negligible. NO can be reduced by C3H8 selectively to N2 only when C3H8/NO ≧ 1. Contrary to many suggestions the reaction temperature, concentration of oxygen, space velocity, and type of exchange ions have minor influence on the selectivity for N2. These parameters affect the rates of reactions (NO + 2), (C3H8 + NOx) and (C3H8 + O2), therefore they also affect the production of N2 in the HC-SCR process, but only when the ratio of C3H8/NO permits. The metal-exchanged zeolites were prepared in situ by solid-state ion exchange from H-ZSM5. Despite the low degree of copper exchange (63%), Cu,H-ZSM5 produces substantially more N2 than H-ZSM5, Ag,H-ZSM5, or Li,H-ZSM5. However, the selectivity for N2 is lowest over Cu,H-ZSM5, which also produces considerable NO2 in the reaction of (NO + C3H8 + O2) even at C3H8/NO ≧ 1. Contrary to prior findings, the catalytic activity of Cu,H-ZSM5 for the oxidation of NO by O2 to NO2 in absence of hydrocarbon was comparable to that of H-ZSM5 at high space velocities (2.3 l g−1 min−1). By replacing 30 and 40% of the protons of H-ZSM5 by Ag+ and Li+ ions in Ag,H-ZSM5 and Li,H-ZSM5, respectively, the catalytic activity for this reaction becomes negligible at temperatures ≧100°C. Existing approaches used to develop compact low-power multichannel wireless neural recording systems range from creating custom-integrated circuits to assembling commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) PC-based components. Custom-integrated-circuit designs yield extremely compact and low-power devices at the expense of high development and upgrade costs and turn-around times, while assembling COTS-PC-technology yields high performance at the expense of large system size and increased power consumption. To achieve a balance between implementing an ultra-compact custom-fabricated neural transceiver and assembling COTS-PC-technology, an overlay of a neural interface upon the TinyOS-based MICA2 platform is described. The system amplifies, digitally encodes, and transmits neural signals real-time at a rate of 9.6 kbps, while consuming less than 66 mW of power. The neural signals are received and forwarded to a client PC over a serial connection. This data rate can be divided for recording on up to 6 channels, with a resolution of 8 bits/sample. This work demonstrates the strengths and limitations of the TinyOS-based sensor technology as a foundation for chronic remote biological monitoring applications and, thus, provides an opportunity to create a system that can leverage from the frequent networking and communications advancements being made by the global TinyOS-development community.  相似文献

For corn drying one of the most popular possibilities in Europe is to use a mixed flow dryer. Large differences in the vertical grain particle velocity in this type of dryers are causing differences in the residence time. Hence, uneven drying occurs causing under-drying or over-drying of grain portions. To investigate the influences of the dryer walls and the air ducts on the particle velocity distribution experiments have been carried out in industrial and laboratory sized dryers and the measurements were compared with discrete element models. The particle flow velocity distribution between the air ducts is modelled analytically based on arching hypothesis. Using discrete element models the effects of different possible constructional modifications causing more even vertical grain particle velocity distribution were analyzed.  相似文献

The paper presents the results of feasibility study for increase of crude processing capacity and improves of energy efficiency of crude oil distillation units. Results introduce that boosting up the distillation capacity was solved while keeping the flexibility of units for processing different type crude oils. Analysis of heat exchanger network resulted significant reduction in fuel consumption and in CO2 emission (93 × 106 GJ year−1 and 3,030 tCO2 year−1, respectively). Modification of furnace of one of the distillation units showed 63 GJ ktcrude−1 saving in energy and 4.5 tCO2 ktcrude−1 decrease in emission.  相似文献

A transient wear process on frictional interface of two thermo‐elastic bodies in a relative steady sliding motion induces shape evolution of contact interface and tends to a steady state for which the wear process occurs at fixed contact stress and strain distribution. The temperature field generated by frictional and wear dissipation on the contact surface is assumed to reach a steady state. This state is assumed to correspond to minimum of the wear dissipation power and the temperature field corresponds to maximum of the heat entropy production. The stationarity conditions of the response functionals provide the contact pressure distribution and the corresponding temperature field. The present approach extends the authors previous analyses of optimal or steady‐state contact shapes by accounting for coupled wear and thermal distortion effects. The wear rule is assumed as a non‐linear relation of wear rate to shear stress and relative sliding velocity. The analysis of disk and drum brakes is presented with account for thermal distortion effect. It is shown that the contact shape in a steady thermo‐elastic state essentially differs from that specified for mechanical loading with neglect of thermal effects. This paper describes the integration of a photovoltaic (PV) renewable energy source with a superconducting magnetic energy storage (SMES) system. The integrated system can improve the voltage stability of the utility grid and achieve power leveling. The control schemes employ model predictive control (MPC), which has gained significant attention in recent years because of its advantages such as fast response and simple implementation. The PV system provides maximum power at various irradiation levels using the incremental conductance technique (INC). The interfaced grid side converter of the SMES can control the grid voltage by regulating its injected reactive power to the grid, while the charge and discharge operation of the SMES coil can be managed by the system operator to inject/absorb active power to/from the grid to achieve the power leveling strategy. Simulation results based on MATLAB/Simulink® software prove the fast response of the system control objectives in tracking the setpoints at different loading scenarios and PV irradiance levels, while the SMES injects/absorbs active and reactive power to/from the grid during various events to improve the voltage response and achieve power leveling strategy.  相似文献

Material design using nonequilibrium systems provides straightforward access to complexity levels that are possible through dynamic processes. Pattern formation through nonequilibrium processes and reaction–diffusion can be used to achieve this goal. Liesegang patterns (LPs) are a kind of periodic precipitation patterns formed through reaction–diffusion. So far, it has been shown that the periodic band structure of LPs and the geometry of the pattern can be controlled by experimental conditions and external fields (e.g., electrical or magnetic). However, there are no examples of these systems being used to retrieve information about the changes in the environment as they form, and there are no studies making use of these patterns for complex material preparation. This work shows the formation of LPs by a diffusion–precipitation reaction in a stretchable hydrogel and the control of the obtained patterns by the unprecedented and uncommon method of mechanical input. Additionally, how to use this protocol and how deviations from “LP behavior” of the patterns can be used to “write and store” information about the time, duration, extent, and direction of gel deformation are presented. Finally, an example of using complex patterning to deposit polypyrrole by using precipitation patterns is shown as a template.  相似文献

Many existing techniques for reversing data structures in C/C ++ binaries are limited to low-level programming constructs, such as individual variables or structs. Unfortunately, without detailed information about a program's pointer structures, forensics and reverse engineering are exceedingly hard. To fill this gap, we propose MemPick, a tool that detects and classifies high-level data structures used in stripped binaries. By analyzing how links between memory objects evolve throughout the program execution, it distinguishes between many commonly used data structures, such as singly- or doubly-linked lists, many types of trees (e.g., AVL, red-black trees, B-trees), and graphs. We evaluate the technique on 10 real world applications, 4 file system implementations and 16 popular libraries. The results show that MemPick can identify the data structures with high accuracy.  相似文献

Matsen equations are used in order to calculate, for the investigated compounds, related series of ionization potentials and electron affinities in gaseous phase, aqueous solution and in the photographic emulsion.More especially, peak and conventional polarographies are used to determine the oxidation and reduction potential terms as well as the work function of graphite. The solvation energy terms are evaluated on the basis of Born equation.It appears that reliable values of electron affinities in the emulsion for cyanine dyes are better determined from corresponding values of their ionization energies and values of transition energies obtained from sensitization spectra.  相似文献
