We observe four-wave mixing (FWM) between copropagating pumps and signals in a Raman amplifier when the zero-dispersion wavelength of the transmission fiber lies symmetrically between the pump and the signal wavelengths. The resultant FWM products, which grow as they experience Raman gain along the fiber, can degrade the signal's optical signal-to-noise ratio by as much as 10 dB for a Raman ON-OFF gain of 15 dB.  相似文献

The original distributed-queueing request update multiple-access (DQRUMA)/multicode code-division multiple-access (MC-CDMA) protocol was developed as a channel access protocol for wireless packet CDMA networks. This protocol has recently attracted considerable attention. We modify the original protocol, which was designed for data traffic only, to additionally accommodate voice traffic and call it the A-Protocol. We propose a new packet CDMA protocol that enhances the A-Protocol by improving the utilization of receivers in a base station and call it the E-Protocol. In the E-Protocol, an access request is attempted with a randomly chosen code at a request minislot. We analytically evaluate the performance of both protocols and compare analytical results with computer simulation. Analytical results agree well with simulation results.  相似文献

Various simulation applications for hair, clothing, and makeup of a 3D avatar can provide more useful information to users before they select a hairstyle, clothes, or cosmetics. To enhance their reality, the shapes, textures, and colors of the avatars should be similar to those found in the real world. For a more realistic 3D avatar color reproduction, this paper proposes a spectrum‐based color reproduction algorithm and color management process with respect to the implementation of the algorithm. First, a makeup color reproduction model is estimated by analyzing the measured spectral reflectance of the skin samples before and after applying the makeup. To implement the model for a makeup simulation system, the color management process controls all color information of the 3D facial avatar during the 3D scanning, modeling, and rendering stages. During 3D scanning with a multicamera system, spectrum‐based camera calibration and characterization are performed to estimate the spectrum data. During the virtual makeup process, the spectrum data of the 3D facial avatar is modified based on the makeup color reproduction model. Finally, during 3D rendering, the estimated spectrum is converted into RGB data through gamut mapping and display characterization.  相似文献

Single-crystalline CdTe(133) films have been grown by metalorganic chemical vapor deposition on Si(211) substrates. We studied the effect of various growth parameters on the surface morphology and structural quality of CdTe films. Proper oxide removal from the Si substrate is considered to be the principal factor that influences both the morphology and epitaxial quality of the CdTe films. In order to obtain single-crystalline CdTe(133) films, a two-stage growth method was used, i.e., a low-temperature buffer layer step and a high- temperature growth step. Even when the low-temperature buffer layer shows polycrystalline structure, the overgrown layer shows single-crystalline structure. During the subsequent high-temperature growth, two-dimensional crystallites grow faster than other, randomly distributed crystallites in the buffer layer. This is because the capturing of adatoms by steps occurs more easily due to increased adatom mobility. From the viewpoint of crystallographic orientation, it is assumed that the surface structure of Si(211) consists of (111) terrace and (100) step planes with an interplanar angle of 54.8°. This surface structure may provide many preferable nucleation sites for adatoms compared with nominally flat Si(100) or (111) surfaces. The surface morphology of the resulting films shows macroscopic rectangular-shaped terrace—step structures that are considered to be a (111) terrace with two {112} step planes directed toward 〈110〉.  相似文献

The effects of the amount of RuO2 added in the Ta film on the electrical properties of a Ta-RuO2 diffusion barrier were investigated using n++-poly-Si substrate at a temperature range of 650–800°C. For the Ta layer prepared without RuO2 addition, Ta2O5 phase formed after annealing at 650°C by reaction between Ta and external oxygen, leading to a higher total resistance and a non-linear I-V curve. Meanwhile, in the case of the Ta film being deposited with RuO2 incorporation, not only a lower total resistance and ohmic characteristics exhibited, but also the bottom electrode structure was retained up to 800°C, attributing to the formation of a conductive RuO2 crystalline phase in the barrier film by reaction with the indiffused oxygen because of a Ta amorphous structure formed by chemially strong Ta-O or Ta-Ru-O bonds and a large amount of conductive RuO2 added. Since a kinetic barrier for nucleation in formation of the crystalline Ta2O5 phase from an amorphous Ta(O) phase is much higher than that of crystalline RuO2 phase from nanocrystalline RuOx phase, the formation of the RuO2 phase by reaction between the indiffused oxygen and the RuOx nanocrystallites is kinetically more favorable than that of Ta2O5 phase.  相似文献

Empirical equations for the self and mutual capacitance and inductance (Cs, Cm, Ls, Lm) of coupled microstrip lines in a printed circuit board were derived from the numerical simulation results to reduce the computation time for crosstalk estimation. Comparison of the measured Cs, Cm , Ls and Lm values with the derived empirical equations showed good agreements. Also in the near-end and far-end crosstalks, good agreements were obtained between measurements and the derived empirical equations. Microstrip lines embedded in the homogeneous dielectric material as well as those in the inhomogeneous medium with one side exposed to air were considered in this work. This paper presents a near‐optimum blind decision feedback equalizer (DFE) for the receivers of Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) digital television. By adopting a modified trellis decoder (MTD) with a trace‐ back depth of 1 for the decision device in the DFE, we obtain a hardware‐efficient, blind DFE approaching the performance of an optimum DFE which has no error propagation. In the MTD, the absolute distance is used rather than the squared Euclidean distance for the computation of the branch metrics. This results in a reduction of the computational complexity over the original trellis decoding scheme. Compared to the conventional slicer, the MTD shows an outstanding performance improvement in decision error probability and is comparable to the original trellis decoder using the Euclidean distance. Reducing error propagation by use of the MTD in the DFE leads to the improvement of convergence performance in terms of convergence speed and residual error. Simulation results show that the proposed blind DFE performs much better than the blind DFE with the slicer, and the difference is prominent at the trellis decoder following the blind DFE.  相似文献

Silicon oxides and nitrides are key materials for dielectrics and encapsulation layers in a class of silicon‐based high performance electronics that has ability to completely dissolve in a controlled fashion with programmable rates, when submerged in bio‐fluids and/or relevant solutions. This type of technology, referred to as “transient electronics”, has potential applications in biomedical implants, environmental sensors, and other envisioned areas. The results presented here provide comprehensive studies of transient behaviors of thin films of silicon oxides and nitrides in diverse aqueous solutions at different pH scales and temperatures. The kinetics of hydrolysis of these materials depends not only on pH levels/ion concentrations of solutions and temperatures, but also on the morphology and chemistry of the films, as determined by the deposition methods and conditions. Encapsulation strategies with a combination of layers demonstrate enhancement of the lifetime of transient electronic devices, by reducing water/vapor permeation through the defects.  相似文献

This letter presents a novel compact circularly polarized patch antenna for Global Positioning System/Global Navigation Satellite System (GPS/GLONASS) applications. The proposed antenna is composed of a simple square radiating patch fed by a capacitive dual‐feeder to increase the impedance bandwidth and a lumped element hybrid coupler to achieve the broadband characteristic of the axial ratio (AR). The realized antenna dimensions are 28 mm × 28 mm × 4 mm, which is the most compact size among the dual‐band GPS/GLONASS antennas reported to date. The measured results demonstrate that the proposed antenna has a gain of 2.5 dBi to 4.2 dBi and an AR of 0.41 dB to 1.51 dB over the GPS/GLONASS L1 band (1.575 GHz to 1.61 GHz).  相似文献

We report the effect of yellow Sr2SiO4:Eu2+ and green SrGa2S4:Eu2+ phosphors on the efficiency of organic photovoltaic (OPV) cells. Each phosphor was coated on the back side of indium tin oxide (ITO)/glass substrates by spin coating with poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA). The maximum absorption wavelength of the active layer in the OPV cells was ~512 nm. The emission peaks of Sr2SiO4:Eu2+ and SrGa2S4:Eu2+ were maximized at 552 nm and 534 nm, respectively. The short circuit current density (Jsc) and power conversion efficiency (PCE) of the OPV cells with Sr2SiO4:Eu2+ (8.55 mA/cm2 and 3.25%) and with SrGa2S4:Eu2+ (9.29 mA/cm2 and 3.3%) were higher than those of the control device without phosphor (7.605 mA/cm2 and 3.04%). We concluded that phosphor tuned the wavelength of the incident light to the absorption wavelength of the active layer, thus increasing the Jsc and PCE of the OPV cells.  相似文献
