The extractive desulfurization of a model gasoline containing several alky]thiols and aromatic thiophenic compounds was investigated using two imidazolium-based ionic liquids(ILs).1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrachloroaluminate,and l-oetyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate.as extractants.A fractional factorial design of experiments was employed to evaluate the effects and possible interactions of several process variables.Analysis of variance tests indicated that the number of extraction steps and the IL/gasoline volume ratio were of statistically highly significant,but none of the interactions were significant.The results showed that the desulfurizalion efficiency of the model gasoline by the ILs could reach 95.2%under the optimal conditions.The optimized conditions were applied to study the extraction of thiophenic compounds in model gasoline and several real gasoline samples:the following order was observed in their separation:benzothiophene > thiophene > 3-methylthiophene > 2-melhylthiophene.with 96.1%removal efficiency for benzothiophene.The IL extraction was successfully applied as a complementary process to the adsorptive desulfurization with activated Raney nickel and acetonitrile solvent.The results indicated that the adsorptive process combined with IL extraction could provide high efficiency and selectivity,which can be regarded as a promising energy efficient desulfurization strategy for production of low-sulfur gasoline.  相似文献

A simulation package for the impedance response of SOFC anodes is presented here. The model couples the gas transport in gas channels and within a porous electrode with the electrochemical kinetics. The gas phase mass transport is modeled using mass conservation equations. A transmission line model (TLM), which is suitably modified to account for the electrode microstructural details, is used for modeling the impedance arising from the electrochemical reactions. In order to solve the system of nonlinear equations, an in‐house code based on the finite difference method was developed. Some of the model constants have been calibrated against experimental data. It is demonstrated that the simulation tool is capable of predicting the impedance response of an experimental data set obtained on symmetrical cells with Ni/ScYSZ SOFC anodes. A parametric study is also carried out using the developed simulation tool and the results are further discussed.  相似文献

The combination of chilled ceiling and displacement ventilation systems can cause destruction of the displacement flow pattern in some circumstances. This paper reports on the performance of a new technique for achieving stable conditions for displacement airflow in the presence of a chilled ceiling system. The technique is based on the attachment of a honeycomb slat system to the underside of a chilled ceiling, thereby suppressing downward cool natural convection. Investigations were carried out using both computational and experimental methods for a range of typical office environment conditions. The results showed that a slat depth to width ratio of 10 could suppress the natural convection by more than 80% when the Rayleigh number reached 7 × 106. This confirms that the technique is capable of minimising downward cool air currents, resulting in preservation of the displacement flow pattern in the presence of the chilled ceiling. The proposed slat system can raise the general air temperature in the space allowing some displacement flow pattern to occur. The outcome of this study is the emergence of a honeycomb slat-based approach for improving the performance, together with provision of general advice for designers as regards the combination of radiant cooling/displacement ventilation systems.  相似文献

In this paper, a new method has been used to improve the heat transfer rate in the finned-tube heat exchanger with nozzle- and diffuser-shaped arrangement. For this study, the effect of several parameters was studied numerically. For the computational fluid dynamics simulation, the continuity, momentum, and energy equations were solved by the finite volume method using the standard kԑ model. The rate of heat transfer increases with the decreasing of fin bend radius (15 < Rfb < 20) for both nozzle-shaped fin and diffuser-shaped fin. By increasing of side temperature (600 < Tside < 900) and side Reynolds number (2000 < Reside < 5000) the heat transfer rate increased for both nozzle- and diffuser-shaped fins. Results showed that a nozzle-shaped fin with a fin bend radius of 15 mm under the condition of Rein = 20,000, Tside = 900 K, and Reside = 3400 has a higher effect on heat transfer in comparison with the other types of fins. The maximum heat transfer rate was almost 39% and 35% for the nozzle-shaped fin with a bend radius of 15 mm and diffuser-shaped fin with a bend radius of 15 mm compared with the simple tube, respectively. Finally, correlational equations have been suggested to forecast the average Nu number as functions of various parameters of the tube equipped with different types of outer fins involving nozzle- and diffuser-shaped.  相似文献

Operation and maintenance costs are significant for large‐scale wind turbines and particularly so for offshore. A well‐organized operation and maintenance strategy is vital to ensure the reliability, availability, and cost‐effectiveness of a system. The ability to detect, isolate, estimate, and perform prognoses on component degradation could become essential to reduce unplanned maintenance and downtime. Failures in gearbox components are in focus since they account for a large share of wind turbine downtime. This study considers detection and estimation of wear in the downwind main‐shaft bearing of a 5‐MW spar‐type floating turbine. Using a high‐fidelity gearbox model, we show how the downwind main bearing and nacelle axial accelerations can be used to evaluate the condition of the bearing. The paper shows how relative acceleration can be evaluated using statistical change‐detection methods to perform a reliable estimation of wear of the bearing. It is shown in the paper that the amplitude distribution of the residual accelerations follows a t‐distribution and a change‐detection test is designed for the specific changes we observe when the main bearing becomes worn. The generalized likelihood ratio test is extended to fit the particular distribution encountered in this problem, and closed‐form expressions are derived for shape and scale parameter estimation, which are indicators for wear and extent of wear in the bearing. The results in this paper show how the proposed approach can detect and estimate wear in the bearing according to desired probabilities of detection and false alarm.  相似文献

Production of piezo-resistive auxetic sensors is usually carried out through mixing and coating methods. Although these methods are beneficial, Young's modulus of mixed sensors becomes high because of using a high percentage of sensing elements while the durability of coated sensors gets low due to the separation of sensing elements from the sensor surface. This article presents a new core–shell metamaterial model to address the mentioned problems. The shell and the core are produced of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) rubber and a mixture of PDMS/graphite powders (73.45 wt% graphite powders), respectively. A finite element model is developed via COMSOL software to predict the electromechanical behaviors of the created sensor and verified by an experimental study. Scanning electron microscope imaging is conducted to detect the separations of the graphite particles. The main important feature of this meta-sensor is to possess a linear sensitivity due to having zero Poisson's ratio. The advantage of this method is that Young's modulus of the sensor does not decrease (unlike the mixing method), and the sensor-coated particles do not separate from the sensor after a while (unlike the coating method). The introduced model has advantages that promote potential applications such as using sensory gloves to detect, for instance, human hand movements.  相似文献

Ionic liquids (ILs) are effective solvents for biomass. Refined cellulose is commonly used; however, recent interest has grown to consider woody and herbaceous biomass and industrial crop residues like fruit peels. Here, the authors report results on the dissolution and shaping of cotton and coffee fruit (cascara) in 1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec-7-inium acetate ([DBUH][OAc]). Cascara is a high-volume, low-value crop residue that poses an environmental and economic burden in producer countries leading to a high-value proposition if recoverable. Fruit/ionic liquid solutions (0–15% w/w dissolved at 60 °C) were characterized with respect to biomass concentration and shaped into fibers and films coagulated in DI water and methanol. Rheology was assessed using parallel plate rheometry. Cotton/IL mixtures formed better fibers compared to cascara-based solutions, which required 2.6× more biomass in solution for viable fiber formation. At 10% loading, fibers could be produced from untreated coffee fruit with diameters ranging from 18–100 microns. Coffee fruit residues and their precipitated films show that both cellulose and lignin dissolve in pure [DBUH][OAc]. Chemical characterization of cascara and cascara films demonstrates the conveyance of high concentrations of lignin and extracts that result in weaker mechanical properties. Further purification of cascara is required for effective use in structural applications.  相似文献

The successful execution and management of Offshore Software Maintenance Outsourcing (OSMO) can be very beneficial for OSMO vendors and the OSMO client. Although a lot of research on software outsourcing is going on, most of the existing literature on offshore outsourcing deals with the outsourcing of software development only. Several frameworks have been developed focusing on guiding software system managers concerning offshore software outsourcing. However, none of these studies delivered comprehensive guidelines for managing the whole process of OSMO. There is a considerable lack of research working on managing OSMO from a vendor’s perspective. Therefore, to find the best practices for managing an OSMO process, it is necessary to further investigate such complex and multifaceted phenomena from the vendor’s perspective. This study validated the preliminary OSMO process model via a case study research approach. The results showed that the OSMO process model is applicable in an industrial setting with few changes. The industrial data collected during the case study enabled this paper to extend the preliminary OSMO process model. The refined version of the OSMO process model has four major phases including (i) Project Assessment, (ii) SLA (iii) Execution, and (iv) Risk.  相似文献
