The problem of imaging through turbulent media has been studied frequently in connection with astronomical imaging and airborne radars. Therefore most image restoration methods encountered in the literature assume a stationary object, e.g., a star or a piece of land. In this paper the problem of interferometric measurements of slowly moving or deforming objects in the presence of air disturbances and vibrations is discussed. Measurement noise is reduced by postprocessing the data with a digital noise suppression filter that uses a reference noise signal measured on a small stationary plate inserted in the field of view. The method has proven successful in reducing noise in the vicinity of the reference point where the size of the usable area depends on the degree of spatial correlation in the noise, which in turn depends on the spatial scales present in the air turbulence. Vibrations among the optical components in the setup tend to produce noise that is highly correlated across the field of view and is thus efficiently reduced by the filter.  相似文献

SUN proteins of Saccharomyces cerevisiae have been defined on the basis of high homologies in their C-terminal domain. Recently, two of these four proteins were shown to be involved in cell wall morphogenesis (Mouassite et al., 2000a). In the present study, we have isolated WMSU1 (Accession No. AF418983), a new SUN-related gene, from W. saturnus var. mrakii MUCL 41968. Sequencing of the gene revealed an open reading frame coding for 402 amino acids. The predicted amino acid sequence of WMSU1 is closely related to the S. cerevisiae SUN proteins and to other yeast proteins involved in cell wall metabolism. WMSU1 is proposed to encode a cell wall protein since its predicted product contains a signal sequence, a Kex2p cleavage site and a serine/threonine-rich N-terminal domain. Southern blot analysis of the W. saturnus var. mrakii MUCL 41968 genome using the highly conserved domain of WMSU1 as a probe suggested that the isolated gene belongs to a multigenic family. Expression of WMSU1 in E. coli led to a 45 kDa protein, which appeared to be toxic to this host. Scanning electron microscopy analysis of a recombinant S. cerevisiae producing Wmsu1p showed that this strain exhibited an altered cell wall, thus pointing to a probable role of this protein in the cell wall structure.  相似文献

To estimate the dietary exposure of the main minerals and trace elements from retail food typically consumed by the French population, samples were purchased and then prepared and cooked prior to analysis. A total of 1080 individual food composites samples were collected and analysed for 18 elements (arsenic, lead, cadmium, aluminium, mercury, antimony, chrome, calcium, manganese, magnesium, nickel, copper, zinc, lithium, sodium, molybdenum, cobalt and selenium). Intakes were calculated from different food consumption patterns found in France for average and high consumers among adults and children. Dietary exposures of those consumers estimated from the France 2000 Total Diet Study (FTDS) are reported, and compared with existing nutritional reference values (Lowest threshold Intake, LTI) or toxicological reference values (Provisional Tolerable Weekly Intake, PTWI or Upper Level, UL) of the respective element and from previous French studies. This study confirms for the populations concerned, the low probability of nutritional or health risks due to food consumption.  相似文献

This paper proposes an innovative and flexible simulation method that predicts the dynamic responses of bridges induced by passing vehicles. The decoupled equations of motion of the vehicle-bridge system are derived from Lagrange equations and include the effect of road surface roughness, while the interaction forces between the two systems are calculated step by step, using Newmark’s method. This algorithm does not require a special finite element (FE) code and can be implemented with standard FE software and general numerical software such as ABAQUS and MATLAB, respectively. In order to illustrate the practicability of the method, an extensive case study is then presented in which some aspects of the dynamic behaviour of a skewed bridge monitored under vehicle-induced loads are investigated. After adjustment of the boundary conditions and the spectral roughness coefficient, good agreement is obtained between the bridge vibrations predicted by the numerical model and the field measurements. The validated model is further used to analyse the distinctive dynamic effects caused by the skewness. For that purpose, a reference non-skewed bridge model is prepared according to the same design as the original skewed bridge. The obtuse corner of the skewed bridge located near the loading path is found to be a critical region where the slab-negative moments, the girder stress near the sole plate and the bearing force are significantly greater than those in the reference bridge.  相似文献

In 2006, the French Food Safety Agency (AFSSA) conducted the Second French Total Diet Study (TDS) to estimate dietary exposures to the main minerals and trace elements from 1319 samples of foods typically consumed by the French population. The foodstuffs were analysed by inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) after microwave-assisted digestion. Occurrence data for lithium, chromium, manganese, cobalt, nickel, copper, zinc, selenium and molybdenum were reported and compared with results from the previous French TDS. The results indicate that the food groups presenting the highest levels of these essential trace elements were “tofu” (for Li, Mn, Ni, Cu, Zn and Mo),“fish and fish products” particularly “shellfish” (for Li, Co, Cu, Zn, Se and Mo), “sweeteners, honey and confectionery” particularly dark chocolate (for Cr, Mn, Co, Ni and Cu), “cereals and cereal products” (for Mn, Ni and Mo) and “ice cream” (for Cr, Co and Ni).  相似文献

Bovine respiratory disease complex (BRD) is a common disease in weaned dairy calves that incurs economic and welfare costs. This study was an extension of a randomized clinical trial in which a single injection of tulathromycin (TUL) or oxytetracycline (TET) was administered at first movement to group housing for the prevention of BRD in the 60d following antimicrobial treatment (BRD60). Calves treated with TUL were 0.5 times [95% confidence interval (CI): 0.4 to 0.7] as likely to be treated for BRD60 as calves treated with TET. The objectives of the current study were to evaluate the long-term effects of BRD and antibiotic treatment on growth of heifers until breeding age, age at first calving, incidence of dystocia, milk production, and mortality before first calving and mortality before 120d in milk. At entry to the breeding barn (382d of age), calves that experienced BRD60 weighed 16.0±2.3kg less than calves that did not. Survival to first calving was recorded for 98% (1,343/1,392) of the heifers on this trial. For TET and TUL heifers with BRD60, 63% (94/150) and 73% (64/88) survived to first lactation, respectively. For TET and TUL calves without BRD60, 84% (436/517) and 84% (494/588) survived to first lactation, respectively. The median age at first calving for heifers with and without BRD60 was 714 (95% CI: 705-723) and 702 (95% CI: 699-705) days, respectively. Heifers with BRD60 were 1.5 (95% CI: 1.1-2.2) times more likely to have a calving ease score ≥2 at their first calving compared with heifers without BRD60. The administration of TUL at movement to group housing may have a role in the prevention of BRD and in mitigating some of the long-term effects of this disease.  相似文献

This paper discusses the efficiency of several Compactly Supported Radial Basis Functions (CSRBFs) for the eigenanalysis of 3D acoustic cavities using the Particular Integral Method. Starting with the two most popular CSRBF families due to Wendland and Wu, a third family proposed by Buhmann is suggested. Results on rectangular parallelepiped highlight the benefit of CSRBFs compared to the classical conical function, especially when dealing with cavities discretized by few elements. On the other hand, when the mesh is refined, numerical difficulties arise and particular attention should be paid to the order of the employed CSRBF. Indeed, and while the conical function is likely to be the most robust function, high-order CSRBFs should be avoided. However, the proposed Buhmann's functions appear to bring significant improvements on eigenanalysis when compared to their Wendland and Wu counterparts.  相似文献

Scale adaptation, where authors alter the wording of an already published scale, is a deeply rooted social practice in IS research. This paper argues that the time is ripe to question this activity as well as the beliefs that have progressively formed around it. We identify and challenge five fallacious scale adaptation beliefs that hinder the development of more robust measure development norms. Contributing to this area of research, this paper offers a conceptual definition of the cognitive validity concept, defined as the extent to which a scale is free of problematic item characteristics (PICs) that bias the survey response process and subsequent empirical results. Building on this conceptualization effort, a new methodological process for assessing the cognitive validity of adapted IS measures is introduced. Through a series of three programmatic studies, we find converging evidence that the method can benefit the IS field by making the scale adaptation process more robust, transparent, and consistent. Along with the method, we introduce a new index that IS scholars can use to benchmark the cognitive quality of their scales against venerable IS measures. We discuss the implications of our work for IS research (including detailed implementation guidelines) and provide directions for future research on measurement in IS.  相似文献
