The changes of lipid metabolism and hemorrheology in intrahepatic cholestasis during pregnancy

OBJECTIVE: To identify the influence of the increased level of serum cholyglycine (CG) on lipid metabolism and hemorrheology in patients with intrahepatic cholestasis during pregnancy (ICP). METHODS: The concentrations of serum CG, total cholesterol (CH), triglycerides (TG), high density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-C), low density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C), high shear and low shear of blood specific viscosity (HS and LS), plasma specific viscosity (PV) and hematocrit (HCT) were measured in 68 cases of primiparas with single pregnancy and 30 healthy nonpregnant women respectively. The group of ICP was composed of 35 cases with CG > 6 mumol/L, the group of normal pregnancy, 33 cases with CG < 6 mumol/L. RESULTS: The means of CG and the lipidic parameters in the two pregnant groups were significantly higher than those in the non-pregnancy group (P < 0.02-0.001) except the means of HDL-C between the groups of ICP and non-pregnancy. The levels of LDL-C, LDL-C/HDL-C, LS, PV and HCT in the ICP were significantly higher than those in the normal pregnancy group (P < 0.02-0.001). CONCLUSIONS: There are significant changes of lipid metabolism and hemorrheology in patients with ICP. However, these changes could be corrected after pregnancy termination, when the level of serum CG returned to normal. The results suggest that the pathophysiologic changes of ICP are associated with increased level of serum CG.

为了正确评价逆向反射镜的加工质量与使用效果，且将二者有机地统一起来，本文提出应根据测试目的来选择合适的光度测量方法，并进一步分析了不同测试目的将导致测量装置的组成、几何条件（距离，孔径角，工作姿态等）、光度条件（光源色温、稳定性与均匀性，接收器线性、灵敏度与光谱修正等）、测量参数（反光强度系数、逆反射系数、逆亮度系数等）等各不相同。     

Carbon Nanotubes Grown on the Surface of Cathode Deposit by Arc Discharge

Carbon nanotubes prepared by de arc discharge of graphite electrodes in He and CH₄ gas took markedly different morphology. Thick nanotubes embellished with many carbon nanoparticles were obtained by evaporation under high CH₄ gas pressure and high arc current. Thin and long carbon nanotubes were obtained under a CH₄ gas pressure of 50Torr and an arc current of 20A for the anode with a diameter of 6mm.     

Nondestructive evaluation of corrosion by fractal geometry

Fractal geometry is finding its application in the nondestructive evaluation (NDE) of corrosion by characterizing the corrosion surface with fractal dimensions. It was found that corrosion surfaces can be well described by multifractals. Two algorithms were used to obtain the fractal dimensions of a corroded aluminum alloy surface, one being box-counting and another being coherent light scattering. Fractal dimensions were related with the damage caused by corrosion and fatigue.     

Propagation of a quasi-shear horizontal acoustic wave in Z-Xlithium niobate plates [and conductivity sensor application]

It is found that an acoustic wave which is nearly polarized in the shear horizontal (SH) direction can propagate along the X axis of a Z-cut lithium niobate plate if the ratio h/λ, where h=plate thickness and λ=acoustic wavelength, is less than about 0.5. Attractive properties of this quasi-SH wave include: (1) phase velocity nearly constant for all values of h/λ; (2) ability to propagate in contact with a liquid medium; and (3) electromechanical coupling coefficient as high as 0.15. These properties make the wave attractive for use in a variety of sensor and signal processing applications. An example of sensor applications is illustrated by using the wave to measure conductivity of liquids (aqueous KCl solution). The frequency of a 12-MHz quasi-SH mode oscillator fabricated on a 0.48 wavelength thick Z-X lithium niobate plate is found to vary by more than 80 kHz for variation in KCI concentration from 0 to 0.15%

套管固井质量问题及对策分析

从油田现场反应的情况出发，对调整井固井，尾管固井，大位移井套管固井和其他固井的质量问题进行了分析，针对各种问题产生的原因，提出了相应换解决办法。     

Phase I study of mitoxantrone plus etoposide with multidrug blockade by SDZ PSC-833 in relapsed or refractory acute myelogenous leukemia

PURPOSE: Expression of the multidrug resistance gene (MDR1) p170 protein is frequent in leukemic blasts from patients with relapsed acute myelogenous leukemia (AML). A phase I study using the nonimmunosuppressive MDR1 blocker SDZ PSC-833 (PSC) in combination with mitoxantrone (MITO) and etoposide (VP) was performed. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Starting doses (LVL0) of MITO (3.25 mg/m2/d on days 1 and 3 to 6) and VP (210 mg/m2/d on days 1 and 3 to 5) were 40% of the maximal-tolerated dose (MTD) from a prior study. A 1.5-mg/kg loading dose of PSC was followed by a 120-hour continuous infusion of 10 mg/kg/d on days 2 to 6. Blood samples for PSC, MITO, and VP pharmacokinetics (PK) were taken on days 1 and 3, and samples for MDR1 expression were taken on day 0. RESULTS: Severe mucositis developed in all patients at LVL0; therefore, MITO and VP doses were reduced to 2.5 and 170 mg/m2 (LVL-1) for the next seven patients, and this dose proved to be MTD. All LVL0 and three LVL-1 patients had transient elevations in the serum bilirubin level to > or = 4 mg/dL. Serum creatinine level increased to greater than 2 mg/dL in one case. There were no other grade 3 or 4 nonhematologic toxicities observed. The peripheral blood was cleared of leukemia in three LVL0 and four LVL-1 patients. The marrow was cleared of leukemic cells in one LVL0 and five LVL-1 patients, and a significant reduction in marrow leukemic infiltrate was observed in eight of 10. No patient achieved complete remission (CR), and all died of progressive disease (n = 8) or infection (n = 2). MDR1 expression was detected by fluorescent-activated cell sorter (FACS) analysis in five of seven cases. An elevated MDR1 mRNA level was detected by quantitative polymerase chain reaction (Q-PCR) in six of eight cases studied. Clearing of leukemia cells from the marrow occurred in four of six MDR1-positive and one of three MDR1-negative patients. Despite the fact that LVL0 doses had to be reduced due to toxicity, coadministration of PSC did not produce a consistent effect on MITO PK; however, it did repeatedly lead to increased levels of VP in the serum. CONCLUSION: We conclude that PSC-MITO-VP is a tolerable regimen with antileukemic activity. Addition of PSC necessitated a 66% reduction in MITO and VP doses from a prior study without PSC.
