This study evaluates the effect of rhBMP-7/OP-1 on the osseointegration of commercially pure titanium implants in an experimental implant model in rabbits. Threaded titanium implants with two transverse parallel canals were inserted in the femur and tibia of rabbits. The canals were filled with, 10 g of BMP-7/collagen carrier, pure collagen carrier or were left empty as a control. The stiffness of the implant fixation was evaluated by Resonance Frequency Analysis (RFA) at baseline and four weeks postoperativly. Percentage of bone ingrowth in the canals was measured on microradiographs. Histomorphometry along the threaded part of the implants was performed on 15 m thin sections. The results from the RFA demonstrated a higher mean value for the BMP-7 treated implants in the tibia than the carrier treated implants but not compared to the control implants. The control implants in the tibia demonstrated more bone ingrowth in the upper canal than to the carrier or the BMP-7 treated implants. Apart from these differences there were no significant effects of BMP. In this study BMP-7 did not contribute to any substantially improved bone anchorage of titanium implants. 相似文献

Regulators of G protein signaling (RGS) proteins act as GTPase-activating proteins (GAPs) toward the alpha subunits of heterotrimeric, signal-transducing G proteins. RGS11 contains a G protein gamma subunit-like (GGL) domain between its Dishevelled/Egl-10/Pleckstrin and RGS domains. GGL domains are also found in RGS6, RGS7, RGS9, and the Caenorhabditis elegans protein EGL-10. Coexpression of RGS11 with different Gbeta subunits reveals specific interaction between RGS11 and Gbeta5. The expression of mRNA for RGS11 and Gbeta5 in human tissues overlaps. The Gbeta5/RGS11 heterodimer acts as a GAP on Galphao, apparently selectively. RGS proteins that contain GGL domains appear to act as GAPs for Galpha proteins and form complexes with specific Gbeta subunits, adding to the combinatorial complexity of G protein-mediated signaling pathways. 相似文献

The composition of the free sterols and the sterol esters of freshly harvested seeds of rape, sunflower and poppy was compared
to that of stored seeds. The sterol composition of rapeseed was not changed during storage, whereas in sunflower seed the
free sterols had less of Δ5-avenasterol and Δ7-stigmastenol in ten-month-old seeds compared to fresh seeds. The greatest relative
changes were observed for esterified sterols in poppy seed, with a drop in the percentage of Δ5-avenasterol from 25.3% in

Plasma polymers of three isomers of diaminocyclohexane (DACH) were deposited on polyethylene, SiO2, and mica at 20°C. The deposition rate was measured as a function of plasma density and power; a maximum was observed in the latter function. The deposition rate was highest for the monomer with the highest flow rate. The film refractive index was observed to increase with both power density and the degree of fragmentation in the plasma. Film composition was measured by elementary analysis, and was found to be almost identical for each of the three isomers; a mechanism for the polymerization reaction is proposed. The percentage of primary amino groups decreased with increasing power density and with film thickness. Surface force measurements of the thickness and refractive index agreed well with the corresponding ellipsometry values in dry air, and am adhesive force, independent of power density, was measured. When the film was exposed to water vapor, it swelled considerably and the adhesion was determined by capillary forces. The experimental design in examination of acute myocardial infarctions should be valid in terms of flow, perfusion and re-flow
after intervention. The contrast agents concentration in experimental studies can be measured by microdialysis. We have assessed
the usefulness of different extracellular and blood pool contrast agents for visualization of the area at risk in coronary
artery occlusions. The double contrast technique, where Dy-DTPA-BMA was combined with Gd-DTPA-BMA yielded a superior infarct

Phase composition of a copper on silica gel catalyst was studied with X-ray diffraction analysis. Activity measurements showed
three periods of activity, the first two of which were ascribed to a copper surface subjected to reduction and the third one
to the reduced form of the catalyst. Hydrogenation reaction over Cu/SiO2 catalyst has a complex pressure dependence with a rate maximum at 6 atm in the low pressure range. Preparation of the catalyst
was studied. On the basis of a proposed reaction model, a catalyst mixture was prepared and tested with good results. In rapeseed
oil hydrogenation, Cu/SiO2 catalysts were shown to be superior to copper chromite catalysts. In soybean oil the two types of catalyst were rather equivalent. 相似文献

Two ductile coating ma-terials were subjected to a combined indentation and scratch test procedure de-signed to screen a predetermined
pattern of many small sample surfaces in a limited time. The screening of 50 surface spots ordered in a matrix pattern on
the surface was carried out in 4.5 hr. The test provides reproducible data in terms of indentation modulus, elastic recovery,
scratch penetration depth, and scratch residual depth, and also offers the possibility of detecting critical mechanical transitions
such as rupture. The presented procedure produces sufficient data in a limited time scale to fulfill the requirements for
a fast method to screen coating compositions.

Particle cycle and residence time distributions are critical factors in determining the coating quality in the Wurster process. Positron emission particle tracking experiments are performed to determine the cycle and residence times of particles in different regions of a Wurster fluid bed. The results show that particles tend to recirculate in and sneak out below from the Wurster tube. The experiments also show that a larger batch size leads to a shorter cycle time and a narrower cycle time distribution (CTD). It is possible to avoid recirculations and obtain a shorter cycle time and a narrower CTD by selecting the operating conditions appropriately or via equipment design. Experiments using binary mixtures of particles with a diameter ratio of 1.5 show that large particles have a longer cycle time than small particles and that the cycle time is shorter for mixtures with approximately equal amounts of small and large particles. © 2014 American Institute of Chemical Engineers AIChE J, 61: 756–768, 2015 相似文献

Hydrodynamic measurements were made in a bubbling fluidized bed operated at 550°C at three different excess gas velocities (0.15, 0.40 and ). The bed has a cross-sectional area of with an immersed tube bank consisting of 59 horizontal stainless steel tubes (AISI 304L), 21 of which are exchangeable, thus allowing erosion studies. Capacitance probe analysis was used to determine the mean bubble rise velocity, the mean bubble frequency, the mean pierced bubble length, the mean bubble volume fraction and the mean visible bubble flow rate. Tube wastage was calculated from roundness profiles obtained by stylus profilometry.A redistribution of the bubble flow towards the center of the bed occurs when the excess gas velocity is increased. Measurements along a target tube, situated next to the capacitance probe, usually show greater material wastage at the central part of the tube, since the mean bubble rise velocity and the mean visible bubble flow rate are higher there. It is suggested that the greater material degradation is also an effect of the through-flow of a particle-transporting gas stream in the bubbles. With increasing height above the distributor plate the circumferential wastage profiles for the lowest excess gas velocity show a gradual change from an erosion pattern with one maximum (Type B behavior) to a pattern with two maxima (Type A behavior). Power spectral density distributions of the fluctuating pressure signals show that this is a result of the formation of larger bubbles, when the fluidization regime is changed in the upper part of the bed. At the highest excess gas velocity the bubble flow becomes more constrained due to a more rapid coalescence of the bubbles and the tubes show Type A wastage profiles throughout the bed. 相似文献

Thermal degradation of poly[(R)−3‐hydroxybutyric acid] (PHB) during melt mixing results in random chain scission that produces shorter polymer chains containing crotonic and carboxyl end groups. One way of preventing this serious reduction of molar mass is to add agents that react with at least two of the newly generated end groups. Different types of commercially available additives known to react with carboxyl group, namely bis(3,4‐epoxycyclohexylmethyl) adipate (BECMA), 2,2'‐bis(2‐oxazoline) (BOX), trimethylolpropane tris(2‐methyl‐1‐aziridinepropionate) (PETAP), triphenyl phosphate (TPP), tris(nonylphenyl) phosphate (TNPP), polycarbodiimide (PCDI), and poly(methyl metharylate‐co‐glycidyl methacrylate) (GMA.MMA) were mixed with PHB by cocasting from solution in chloroform. Dynamic rheology as well as measurements of molar masses before and after dynamic analysis was used to evaluate the effect of the additives on the melt stability of PHB. Measurements of the dynamic shear modulus and the molar mass of molten PHB with the additives PCDI and GMA.MMA showed a minor improvement on the thermal stability. Furthermore, TPP and TNPP did not affect the thermal stability of PHB, whereas the presence of BECMA, BOX, and PETAP gave a strong decrease of the dynamic modulus compared with neat PHB. © 2014 The Authors Journal of Applied Polymer Science Published by Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
