Mixture layers of Ge:SiO2 of 40:60 mol% respectively, have been prepared by co-sputtering. The thermally induced change of optical properties of the layers was studied by variable angle spectroscopic ellipsometry. The mixture was modelled as an unknown material with optical constants described by multiple oscillators. The optical parameters determined from ellipsometric measurements can be well correlated with structural changes in the mixture. The results indicate that Ge in the mixture deposited or annealed up to 600 °C is in an amorphous state and it redistributes with increase of temperature, changing refractive index through the layer. The crystallization starts between 600 and 650 °C, at first next to the substrate. Crystallites size grows with temperature. Results were compared with findings of grazing incidence wide angle X-ray scattering measurements and a good agreement was found. Ellipsometry has been shown to be an appropriate non-invasive technique for characterization of this kind of layers.  相似文献

The systematized study of urban morphology has led to the development of integrated tools based on the knowledge of the relation between physical density and urban form. These tools do help planners and decision makers; however, environmental data is rarely included in them.This paper presents the GWP-Chart, a method that combines urban planning tools with environmental data, obtained through the use of the life cycle assessment (LCA) results. In order to explain its use, three urban fabrics have been selected. According to their morphology and their ground space index (GSI) and public space ratio (PSR) values, the contribution of the sidewalk subsystem to the global impact per square meter of urban development can be quantified and communicated.The GWP-Chart is applicable to all types of urban fabrics and scales (street or square, island, fabric or district), as well as adaptable to any urban infrastructure or subsystem and can be extended to other environmental impacts. Its advantages lie in its accurateness, adaptability and ease of interpretation.  相似文献

Network survivability requires the provisioning of backup resources in order to protect active traffic against any failure scenario. Backup resources, however, can remain unused most of the time while the network is not in failure condition, inducing high power consumption wastage, if fully powered on. In this paper, we highlight the power consumption wastage of the additional resources for survivability in IP/multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) over dense wavelength division multiplexing multi-layer optical networks. We assume MPLS protection switching as the failure recovery mechanism in the network, a solution interesting for current network operators to ensure fast recovery as well as fine-grained recovery treatment per label switched path. Next, we quantitatively show how elastic optical technologies can effectively reduce such a power consumption by dynamically adjusting the data rate of the transponders to the carried amount of traffic.  相似文献

X-Prolyl-dipeptidyl-aminopeptidase recently was found in several lactic acid bacteria. This article describes the purification of the enzymes from Lactobacillus lactis and Streptococcus thermophilus and compares their characteristics. Enzymes from both strains are serine-peptidases. They both have a molecular weight of about 165,000 daltons, an isoelectric point near 4.5, and are constituted of two subunits. The pH optimum of the enzyme isolated from L. lactis is 7.0, whereas the enzyme from S. thermophilus possesses a broad pH optimum between 6.5 and 8.2 with glycyl-L-prolyl-aminomethylcoumarin as substrate. Below pH 5, both enzymes are unstable; however, that from S. thermophilus is more rapidly denatured. The enzyme from S. thermophilus is more sensitive to heat than the corresponding enzyme from L. lactis. Enzymes from the both strains have different specificities towards various substrates and are differently effected by metals, chelators, and other inhibitors. The importance of this enzyme for the metabolism of lactic acid bacteria is discussed.  相似文献

In view of the unique properties of poly (p-benzamide), particularly as a fibre, the synthesis of the structurally related poly (p-benzenesulphonamide) has been investigated. This first paper describes the preparation of two groups of possible precursors of the polymer starting with sulphanilic acid. The first group includes N-sulphinylaniline-4-sulphochloride, aniline-4-sulphochloride hydrochloride and aniline-4-sulphochloride. The key to the synthesis of these intermediates is the conversion of sulphanilic acid to N-sulphinylaniline-4-sulphochloride by reaction with thionyl chloride in the presence of a catalytic amount of dimethyl formamide. For the synthesis of poly (N-methyl-benzenesulphonamide), N-methylsulphanilic acid has been converted into N-methylaniline-4-sulphochloride hydrochloride by treatment with thionyl chloride. Some N-acetylated sulphanilic acid derivatives, CH3CONH-C6H4-SO2X, where X?OH, OEt, OC6H5 and Cl, and N-acetyl-1-naphthylamine-4-sulphochloride have also been prepared for evaluation as monomers in the synthesis of polysulphonamides by melt polymerisation.  相似文献

In this paper we propose three variants of a linear feature extraction technique based on Adaboost for two-class classification problems. Unlike other feature extraction techniques, we do not make any assumptions about the distribution of the data. At each boosting step we select from a pool of linear projections the one that minimizes the weighted error. We propose three different variants of the feature extraction algorithm, depending on the way the pool of individual projections is constructed. Using nine real and two artificial data sets of different original dimensionality and sample size we compare the performance of the three proposed techniques with three classical techniques for linear feature extraction: Fisher linear discriminant analysis (FLD), Nonparametric discriminant analysis (NDA) and a recently proposed feature extraction method for heteroscedastic data based on the Chernoff criterion. Our results show that for data sets of relatively low-original dimensionality FLD appears to be both the most accurate and the most economical feature extraction method (giving just one-dimension in the case of two classes). The techniques based on Adaboost fare better than the classical techniques for data sets of large original dimensionality.

A PKI (public key infrastructure) provides for a digital certificate that can identify an individual or an organization. However, the existence of a certificate is a necessary but not sufficient evidence for its validity. The PKI needs to provide applications that use certificates with the ability to validate, at the time of usage, that a certificate is still valid (not revoked). One of the two standard protocols to check the revocation status of certificates is the Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP). In this article, we propose an OCSP-based implementation that enhances the performance of standard OCSP. In particular, we put special emphasis on those issues that affect security and performance when the validation service is deployed in a real scenario. Finally, we provide experimental results that show that our implementation outperforms standard OCSP.  相似文献

Nowadays embedded systems are growing at an impressive rate and provide more and more sophisticated applications characterized by having a complex array index manipulation and a large number of data accesses. Those applications require high performance specific computation that general purpose processors can not deliver at a reasonable energy consumption. Very long instruction word architectures seem a good solution providing enough computational performance at low power with the required programmability to speed up the time to market. Those architectures rely on compiler effort to exploit the available instruction and data parallelism to keep the data path busy all the time. With the density of transistors doubling each 18 months, more and more sophisticated architectures with a high number of computational resources running in parallel are emerging. With this increasing parallel computation, the access to data is becoming the main bottleneck that limits the available parallelism. To alleviate this problem, in current embedded architectures, a special unit works in parallel with the main computing elements to ensure efficient feed and storage of the data: the address generator unit, which comes in many flavors. Future architectures will have to deal with enormous memory bandwidth in distributed memories and the development of address generators units will be crucial for effective next generation of embedded processors where global trade-offs between reaction-time, bandwidth, energy and area must be achieved. This paper provides a survey of methods and techniques that optimize the address generation process for embedded systems, explaining current research trends and needs for future.
