Biocatalysis offers a broad spectrum of possible ecological and economic advantages over conventional chemical catalysis processes, e.g., lower energy consumption and high enantio selectivity. The focus of this work is on gas-liquid reactions. These are of great importance in the chemical and biochemical industry and subject of current research since they are often limited by mass transfer or show low selectivity. Different suitable biocatalytically gas-liquid reaction systems were tested in capillary reactor designs in order to obtain information about the interaction between reaction and fluid mechanics. Furthermore, an optical measuring method was established. The experiments were performed in batch mode in a glass beaker with a flow cuvette for UV/Vis measurement of product concentration.  相似文献

For the 3D printed composites, fiber alignment is affected by the direction of melt-flow during extrusion of filaments and subsequently through the printing nozzle. The resulting fibers orientation and the fiber-matrix compatibility have a direct correlation with mechanical properties. This study investigates the impact of processing conditions on the state of the carbon fiber types and their orientation on the mechanical properties of 3D-printed composites. Short and long carbon fibers were used as starting reinforcing materials, and the state of fibers at the beginning and on the printed parts were evaluated. Strong anisotropy in terms of mechanical properties (flexural and impact properties) was observed for the samples printed with different printing orientations. Interestingly, the number of voids in the printed composites was found to be correlated with the fiber types. The present work provides a step towards the optimization of tailored composite properties by additive manufacturing.  相似文献

Obesity is a globally increasing health problem, entailing diverse comorbidities such as infectious diseases. An obese weight status has marked effects on lung function that can be attributed to mechanical dysfunctions. Moreover, the alterations of adipocyte-derived signal mediators strongly influence the regulation of inflammation, resulting in chronic low-grade inflammation. Our review summarizes the known effects regarding pulmonary bacterial and viral infections. For this, we discuss model systems that allow mechanistic investigation of the interplay between obesity and lung infections. Overall, obesity gives rise to a higher susceptibility to infectious pathogens, but the pathogenetic process is not clearly defined. Whereas, viral infections often show a more severe course in obese patients, the same patients seem to have a survival benefit during bacterial infections. In particular, we summarize the main mechanical impairments in the pulmonary tract caused by obesity. Moreover, we outline the main secretory changes within the expanded adipose tissue mass, resulting in chronic low-grade inflammation. Finally, we connect these altered host factors to the influence of obesity on the development of lung infection by summarizing observations from clinical and experimental data.  相似文献

In this paper we compare the influence of different microstructures on the corrosion resistance of new drug-eluting stainless steel stents, which have been produced by grain-boundary-selective electrochemical etching processes. The morphology of the stent surfaces was analysed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and the surface composition was investigated with Auger electron spectroscopy (AES) as well as with energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX). The passivity of the different microstructured stents was studied by cyclovoltammetry in Ringer solution. Release of nickel and chromium was assessed after potentiostatic experiments in Ringer solution by analysing the collected electrolyte with AAS. For stents produced by different two-step etching procedures bringing about ideal morphologies regarding the mechanical and biological properties of the surface, no significant differences in the passivation behaviour could be observed. A two-step process using first nitric acid and oxalic acid in a second step produces stent surfaces with very good corrosion properties: electrochemical analysis shows that the range of stable passivity is the same as for conventional stent surfaces, and low rates of nickel and chromium release are observed. The etching procedures do not seem to change the surface oxide layer composition.  相似文献

An environmental study using life cycle assessment (LCA) has been applied to three bench-scale wastewater treatments for Cibacron Red FN-R hetero-bireactive dye removal: artificial light photo-Fenton process, solar driven photo-Fenton process and artificial light photo-Fenton process coupled to a biological treatment. The study is focused on electricity and chemicals consumption, transports and atmosphere and water emissions generated by the different processes involved. Results show that the artificial light photo-Fenton process is the worst treatment in terms of environmental impact. On the other hand, both solar driven and coupled to biological photo-Fenton processes reduce significantly the environmental damage, although none can be identified as the best in all impact categories. The major environmental impact is attributed to the H2O2 consumption and to the electrical energy consumption to run the UVA lamp. An economic analysis of the different photo-Fenton processes has also been performed and the results are discussed together with those obtained from the environmental assessment.  相似文献

Isoniazid (INH) remains one of the cornerstones of antitubercular chemotherapy for drug‐sensitive strains of M. tuberculosis bacteria. However, the increasing prevalence of multidrug‐resistant (MDR) and extensively drug‐resistant (XDR) strains containing mutations in the KatG enzyme, which is responsible for the activation of INH into its antitubercular form, have rendered this drug of little or no use in many cases of drug‐resistant tuberculosis. Presented herein is a novel family of antitubercular direct NADH‐dependent 2‐trans enoyl–acyl carrier protein reductase (InhA) inhibitors based on an N‐benzyl‐4‐((heteroaryl)methyl)benzamide template; unlike INH, these do not require prior activation by KatG. Given their direct InhA target engagement, these compounds should be able to circumvent KatG‐related resistance in the clinic. The lead molecules were shown to be potent inhibitors of InhA and showed activity against M. tuberculosis bacteria. This new family of inhibitors was found to be chemically tractable, as exemplified by the facile synthesis of analogues and the establishment of structure–activity relationships. Furthermore, a co‐crystal structure of the initial hit with the enzyme is disclosed, providing valuable information toward the design of new InhA inhibitors for the treatment of MDR/XDR tuberculosis.  相似文献

Diatomite samples from Costa Rica were purified using acidic treatments with hydrochloric acid, thermally treated (400–1000 °C) and then silylated with trimethylchlorosilane in toluene under inert atmosphere. The purification process allows to decrease the concentration of metals presented in the crude diatomite, as is confirmed by X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) Analysis. The silylated materials were analyzed by using Hyperpolarized 129Xe Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (HP 129Xe NMR), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA), rehydration tests, and contact angle measurements. XRD measurements indicate that diatomite is mainly amorphous, but presents several crystalline phases (kaolinite, cristobalite, and quartz). Pretreatments at high temperatures cause changes in those crystalline phases, resulting in more amorphous materials. However, there is no difference in the overall structure of purified and thermally treated diatomite samples with respect to the silylation products. In addition, SEM measurements show no effect over the pore structure of the materials. On the other hand, TGA measurements and rehydration tests show lower losses of water for silylated materials prepared using higher pretreatment temperatures. Moreover, HP 129Xe NMR, FTIR, and contact angle measurements evidence a modification due to covalent attachment of Si(CH3)3-groups to the surface, which increases for higher pretreatment temperatures. The results provide valuable information about external factors that influence the surface modification of diatomite. This can be useful to control modifications that can be achieved in a similar way.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to integrate multi omics data to characterize underlying functional pathways and candidate genes for drip loss in pigs. The consideration of different omics levels allows elucidating the black box of phenotype expression. Metabolite and protein profiling was applied in Musculus longissimus dorsi samples of 97 Duroc × Pietrain pigs. In total, 126 and 35 annotated metabolites and proteins were quantified, respectively. In addition, all animals were genotyped with the porcine 60 k Illumina beadchip. An enrichment analysis resulted in 10 pathways, amongst others, sphingolipid metabolism and glycolysis/gluconeogenesis, with significant influence on drip loss. Drip loss and 22 metabolic components were analyzed as intermediate phenotypes within a genome-wide association study (GWAS). We detected significantly associated genetic markers and candidate genes for drip loss and for most of the metabolic components. On chromosome 18, a region with promising candidate genes was identified based on SNPs associated with drip loss, the protein “phosphoglycerate mutase 2” and the metabolite glycine. We hypothesize that association studies based on intermediate phenotypes are able to provide comprehensive insights in the genetic variation of genes directly involved in the metabolism of performance traits. In this way, the analyses contribute to identify reliable candidate genes.  相似文献

An efficient protocol for the rapid room temperature deacetylation of carbohydrate derivatives using CuFe2O4 nanoparticles as an inexpensive and reusable catalyst is presented. After separation of the catalyst with an external magnet, the reaction products are easily obtained in good purity and excellent yields.  相似文献
