Studies on some properties such as the density, the degradation temperatures, the morphology and the spectral features of the ligno‐cellulose fiber Hildegardia were carried out in both untreated and alkali treated form. This second in a series of articles deals with studies on the structure and physical properties of five varieties of Indian silk: two mulberry (bivoltine and crossbreed) and three nonmulberry (tasar, muga, and eri). A detailed analysis of the microstructural parameters and mechanical properties was reported. Significant differences between and within the varieties with respect to microstructural parameters (crystallinity, density, birefringence, dichroic ratio, sonic modulus, etc.), as well as the effect of microstructural parameters on mechanical properties, were discussed. Some of the observations made on the inverse stress relaxation behavior of the different silk varieties were also reported. In this study, a simultaneous chemical kinetics and heat transfer model is used to predict the effects of the most important physical and thermal properties (thermal conductivity, heat transfer coefficient, emissivity, reactor temperature and heat of reaction number) of the feedstock on the convective-radiant pyrolysis of biomass fuels for different geometries such as slab, cylinder and sphere. The pyrolysis rate is simulated by a kinetic scheme involving two parallel primary reactions and a third secondary reaction between volatile and gaseous products and the char. Finite difference pure implicit scheme utilizing the Tri-Diagonal Matrix Algorithm (TDMA) is employed for solving heat transfer model equation. Runge-Kutta fourth order method is used for solving the chemical kinetics model equations. Simulations are carried out for different geometries considering the equivalent radius ranging from to , and the temperature ranging from to .For conversion in the thermally thick regime (intra-particle heat transfer control), it is found that variations in the properties mainly affect the activity of primary reactions. The highest sensitivity is associated with reactor temperature and emissivity. Applications of these findings in reactor design and operation are discussed. The results obtained using the model used in the present study are in excellent agreement with many reported experimental studies, much better than the agreement with earlier models reported in the literature. 相似文献

Intercalating nucleic acids (INA(R)s) with insertions of (R)-1-O-(1-pyrenylmethyl)glycerol were hybridized with locked nucleic acids (LNAs). INA/LNA duplexes were found to be less stable than the corresponding DNA/LNA duplexes when the INA monomer was inserted as a bulge close to the LNA monomers in the opposite strand. This property was used to make "quenched" complements that possess LNA in hairpins and in duplexes and are consequently more accessible for targeting native DNA. The duplex between a fully modified 13-mer LNA sequence and a complementary INA with six pyrene residues inserted after every second base as a bulge was found to be very unstable (Tm=30.1 degrees C) in comparison with the unmodified double-stranded DNA (Tm=48.7 degrees C) and the corresponding duplexes of LNA/DNA (Tm=81.6 degrees C) and INA/DNA (Tm=66.4 degrees C). A thermal melting experiment of a mixture of an LNA hairpin, with five LNA nucleotides in the stem, and its complementary DNA sequence gave a transition with an extremely low increase in optical density (hyperchromicity). When two INA monomers were inserted into the stem of the LNA hairpin, the same experiment resulted in a significant hyperchromicity comparable with the one obtained for the corresponding DNA/DNA duplex. 相似文献

A phytogenic feed additive (PFA) formulation was prepared with bioactive molecules—curcuminoids, gingerol, and carvacrol by encapsulating in nanofiber isolated from turmeric spent (turmeric nanofiber, TNF). This formulation was completely characterized by scanning electron microscope, ultra performance liquid chromatography, and gas chromatography and evaluated for its efficacy. PFA-encapsulated TNF (PFA@TNF) considerably increased mean body weight, decreased cholesterol level, mortality rate, and reduced Escherichia coli content of broilers than antibiotic growth promoter (AGP). The depth of crypts in the ileum of broilers was considerably reduced by the inclusion of PFA@TNF in diets compared with the AGP. 相似文献

Electrodeionization (EDI) of cesium from cesium-sorbed ammonium molybdophosphate-polyacrylonitrile (AMP-PAN) was investigated by passing eluant through the packed bed of ion-exchange resin in an electrodialysis cell. The deionized cesium from the packed bed was recovered in catholyte by migration and in the eluant by convection. Recovery percentage of Cs by migration increased while the recovery by convection decreased with increase in current density from 20 to 40 mA/cm2. Increased eluant concentration resulted in low migration percentage of cesium. Increased catholyte concentration had a negligible effect on total recovery. Apparent diffusion coefficients evaluated using the Nernst–Plank relation increased with increase in current density and catholyte concentration while a decreasing trend was observed with increase in eluant concentration. 相似文献

Cadmium selenide (CdSe) nanoparticles were synthesized through colloidal method in aqueous medium using the reaction intermediates selenium nanorods as selenium source. Trigonal selenium nanorods (t-Se) were synthesized in water by the reduction method in the presence of sodium borohydride at 60?°C using sodium selenite (Na2SeO3) as selenium source. These selenium nanorods were further utilized to synthesis cadmium selenide nanoparticles at 100?°C in water. The synthesized nanorods and nanoparticles were characterized using XRD, SEM, TEM and XPS analysis. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis shown that the nanorods possess trigonal phase while the nanoparticles possess a cubic zinc blende structure. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) analysis of the prepared hexagonal shaped nanorods reveals the diameter of the nanorods are about 150 nm. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analysis shows the size of the synthesized CdSe nanoparticles are about 4–8 nm. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis illustrates the presence of respective elements Cd, Se with its corresponding oxidation states. The activity of nano selenium rods in aqueous solution during the conversion of cadmium selenide nanoparticles was discussed. 相似文献

An experimental study was performed on the attrition of the bed materials in a recirculating fluidized bed (RCFB) using Indian standard (IS) grade I sand (size between 2.0 and 1.0?mm) at ambient conditions. Experiments were performed with superficial air velocity ranging from 7.13 to 9.16?m/s, bed inventory of 7–10?kg, and a spacing of 0.085?m between the jet top and draft tube bottom. The main objective of the study was to investigate the effects of operation time on the attrition and size distribution of sand particles in a RCFB. It was noticed that the prime mode of attrition of bed materials was abrasion, not fragmentation. Reduction in the downcomer bed height was observed with increasing operation time. It indicates that attrition was significant and fines were elutriated out with the fluidizing air. Furthermore, variations in the shape, size, and harmonic diameter of particles were studied with increasing operation time. It has been observed that the coefficient of uniformity and coefficient of curvature showed increasing patterns. It specifies that particles of different size ranges and fines were formed due to attrition of particles. At the end of the operation, it was found that a significant amount of fines was elutriated with fluidizing air from the reactor. 相似文献

Polycrystalline samples of NdFeAsO1?xFx (Nd1111) with x = 0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, and 0.4 were synthesized using a solid‐state method at ambient pressures. A maximum transition temperature (TC) of 52.0 K and a JC of 1050 A/cm2 at 12 K were observed for x = 0.3 and 0.4, respectively. The transport and magnetic properties observed for each stoichiometry have remarkable correlation with their corresponding structural and microstructural aspects. Moreover, the superconducting properties exhibited in this material, processed at a relatively low temperature of 1000°C, are competitive as compared to the existing reports wherein high pressures/temperatures are inevitable. 相似文献
