Several approximate algorithms have been reported to solve large constraint-satisfaction problems (CSPs) within a practical time. While those papers discuss techniques to escape from local optima, this paper describes a method that actively performs global searches. The present method improves the rate of search of genetic algorithms by using viral infection instead of mutation. Partial solutions of a CSP are considered to be viruses, and a population of viruses is created, as well as a population of candidate solutions. The search for a solution is conducted by crossover and infection. Infection substitutes the gene of a virus for the locus decided by the virus. Experimental results using randomly generated CSPs prove that the proposed method is faster that usual genetic algorithms at finding a solution when the constraint density of a CSP is low. 相似文献

An increase in potassium (K) intake may lower blood pressure (BP), but inconsistent results have been obtained in clinical trials. We studied the effects of K supplementation in hypertensive patients with monitoring of home and ambulatory BP. Fifty-five patients with essential hypertension (26 men, 29 women, 36-77 years old) participated in this study. A 4-week K supplementation period and 4-week control period were assigned in a randomized crossover manner. During the K period, the subjects were given 64 mmol/day of K as slow-release KCl tablets. Office, home, and 24-h BP, as well as serum and urinary electrolytes, were measured at the end of each period. In the control period, office, home, and 24-h BP were 151 +/- 2/88 +/- 1 (mean +/- SE), 138 +/- 1/83 +/- 1, and 137 +/- 1/81 +/- 1 mm Hg, respectively. Serum K increased from 4.15 +/- 0.04 to 4.42 +/- 0.05 mmol/L, and urinary K increased from 54 +/- 2 to 96 +/- 3 mmol/day with the K supplementation. Office, home, and 24-h BP were significantly lower in the K period than in the control period, although the differences were small (2.7 +/- 1.1/1.4 +/- 0.6, 3.6 +/- 0.9/1.7 +/- 0.5, 3.4 +/- 1.0/1.2 +/- 0.5 mm Hg, respectively). Changes in home and 24-h systolic BP with K supplementation were highly significant (P < .001), compared with office BP (P < .05). The change in 24-h systolic BP was correlated negatively with baseline BP and urinary Na/K ratio, and positively with baseline urinary K excretion. The changes in daytime and nighttime BP were comparable. These results indicate that increasing K intake lowers BP in hypertensive subjects, especially in those with higher BP and lower K intake. Our study supports the usefulness of K supplementation in the treatment of hypertension, although its antihypertensive effect may be small. 相似文献

OBJECTIVE: The accuracy of the PyloriTek test (a 1-h rapid urease test) used after eradication therapy of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) has not been well clarified. This study was done to evaluate the accuracy of the PyloriTek test results for cases with and without eradication therapy, using culture and histology as gold standard methods, and to establish the suitable timing of the PyloriTek test after eradication treatment. METHODS: One hundred sixty-three patients undergoing upper endoscopy were randomly selected; 100 patients had not received eradication therapy and 63 had. Three biopsy specimens each were obtained from the gastric antrum and the body for examination by PyloriTek, culture, and histology. The absence of H. pylori was established with negative results from both culture and histology. RESULTS: In cases without eradication therapy, PyloriTek, correctly identified 66 of 67 H. pylori-positive cases and 30 of 33 H. pylori-negative cases, yielding 98.5% sensitivity and 90.9% specificity. In cases with eradication therapy, PyloriTek gave correct diagnoses in 10 of 17 H. pylori-positive cases and in 45 of 46 H. pylori-negative cases, for 58.8% sensitivity and 97.8% specificity. However, when PyloriTek was used more than 4 months after the end of eradication therapy, both the sensitivity and the specificity increased to 100%. CONCLUSION: Considering time and cost, the use of PyloriTek alone may be satisfactory for detecting H. pylori infection in cases without eradication therapy. When patients are examined more than 4 months after intervention, the use of PyloriTek alone may be sufficient for correctly diagnosing H. pylori infections. 相似文献

The tetragonal tungsten bronze (TTB) type of Sr x Ba1− x m Nb2 O6 (SBN) (0.5 ≤ x ≤ 0.75) was synthesized by a mixed-oxide route. Using the two-step densification process of pressureless sintering followed by oxygen HIPing, transparent ceramics were successfully fabricated. Microstructural, dielectric, optical, and electrooptic properties were investigated. All single-phase TTB-type SBN showed the characteristics of relaxor ferroelectrics. The extinction coefficients of the sample with the highest transparency were calculated from transmission spectra to be 30.4, 5.8, and 2.4 cm−1 at 600, 1450, and 2000 nm, respectively. The linear electrooptic coefficients for SBN55, r 33 and r 13 , were 46 × 10−12 and 21 × 10−12 m/V at 633 nm, respectively. 相似文献

Acrolein is a representative carcinogenic aldehyde found ubiquitously in the environment and formed endogenously through oxidation reactions, such as lipid peroxidation and myeloperoxidase-catalyzed amino acid oxidation. It shows facile reactivity toward DNA to form an exocyclic DNA adduct. To verify the formation of acrolein-derived DNA adduct under oxidative stress in vivo, we raised a novel monoclonal antibody (mAb21) against the acrolein-modified DNA and found that the antibody most significantly recognized an acrolein-modified 2' -deoxyadenosine. On the basis of chemical and spectroscopic evidence, the major antigenic product of mAb21 was the 1,N6-propano-2' -deoxyadenosine adduct. The exposure of rat liver epithelial RL34 cells to acrolein resulted in a significant accumulation of the acrolein-2' -deoxyadenosine adduct in the nuclei. Formation of this adduct under oxidative stress in vivo was immunohistochemically examined in rats exposed to ferric nitrilotriacetate, a carcinogenic iron chelate that specifically induces oxidative stress in the kidneys of rodents. It was observed that the acrolein-2' -deoxyadenosine adduct was formed in the nuclei of the proximal tubular cells, the target cells of this carcinogenesis model. The same cells were stained with a monoclonal antibody 5F6 that recognizes an acrolein-lysine adduct, by which cytosolic accumulation of acrolein-modified proteins appeared. Similar results were also obtained from myeloperoxidase knockout mice exposed to the iron complex, suggesting that the myeloperoxidase-catalyzed oxidation system might not be essential for the generation of acrolein in this experimental animal carcinogenesis model. The data obtained in this study suggest that the formation of a carcinogenic aldehyde through lipid peroxidation may be causally involved in the pathophysiological effects associated with oxidative stress. 相似文献

Combined surgery in 6 cases who had coronary artery disease and thoracic aortic disease simultaneously was analyzed. Case # 1 had ascending aortic replacement under deep hypothermic circulatory arrest because of iatrogenic aortic dissection caused by aortic clamp during the routine coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). Case # 2 had DeBakey type II chronic dissection. Case # 3 had type I aortic dissection 4 years after the initial CABG. Both case # 2 and # 3 had ascending aortic replacement under retrograde cerebral perfusion along with CABG. Transverse aortic replacement was performed in case # 4, # 5 and # 6 under selective cerebral perfusion along with CABG. Case # 4 was associated with ascending-transverse aortic aneurysm. Case # 5 had aortitis syndrome complicated with severe coronary ostial stenosis and cervical branch stenosis. Case # 6 also had aortitis syndrome, severe coronary ostial stenosis, heavily calcified ascending-transverse aorta, and mitral and aortic regurgitation. This case had mitral and aortic valve replacement additionally. Case # 2 died of low cardiac output syndrome and multi-organ failure postoperatively. Case # 4 did not recover from profound shock that followed the preoperative acute myocardial infarction. The problems of low cardiac output syndrome caused by long interval of ischemic cardiac arrest, and also the problems of proximal anastomotic site of saphenous vein grafts were discussed. 相似文献
