A calculation method for symbol error probability is proposed for multilevel QAM systems. Carrier-to-noise ratio penalties are estimated by this method for seven typical impairment factors, including recovered carrier phase error, timing error, receive filter residual delay, etc. The validity of the method is verified by experiments on penalties caused by recovered carrier phase error and timing error. Based on the new method of analysis, signatures of a 64 QAM modem are estimated theoretically, using a pseudo-two-ray model of multipath fading. The dependence of signatures on the above-mentioned impairment factors is investigated in detail. A qualitative deduction of impairment factors from a measured signature is demonstrated. The measured signature agrees well with a calculated one in which reasonable values of the impairment factors are assumed.  相似文献

Extremely low-threshold semiconductor lasers were fabricated by forming Zn-diffused mesa buried-hetero (DMB) structures from low-pressure MOCVD-grown AlxGa1-xAs/GaAs multi-quantum-well, separate-confinement heterostructure wafers. CW threshold currents as low as 880 ?A at 77 K and 2.4 mA at room temperature were obtained for a 100 ?m-long device.  相似文献

In this study, amphiphilic brush-like copolymers conjugated with short alkyl or long polymeric chains of various lengths are synthesized using ring-opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) of substituted norbornadiene monomers followed by chemical transformations. These amphiphilic copolymers form spherical self-assemblies in aqueous media with diameters of 132-244 nm. The low critical aggregation concentration of these assemblies (2.5 × 10(-3) -1.4 × 10(-5) g/L) indicates that they are quite stable in dilute conditions. An appropriate length of polymer side chain that conjugates the polymer backbone with a hydrophobic ICG (indocyanine green) moiety enhanced the fluorescence intensities of these self-assemblies in aqueous solution as well as in tumor-bearing mice. A longer side chain conjugated with tumor targeting agents could significantly affect the tumor specificity of self-assemblies to a greater extent. The self-assemblies bearing hydrophilic tumor targeting agents, such as a glucosamine molecule and a cyclic RGD (arginine-glycine-asparatic acid) peptide, accumulated in tumor tissues with high selectivity, while those having a hydrophobic targeting agent, such as folate moieties, accumulated in tumor sites with low selectivity. The results demonstrated here unambiguously indicate that the fluorescence intensity and tumor specificity of self-assemblies are strongly affected by the length of side chains that conjugate with dyes and targeting agents.  相似文献

Three-dimensional (3-D) effects in short deep beams without stirrups that failed in shear were investigated experimentally and analytically. Two deep beams with a shear span to depth ratio (a/d) of 0.5 and with different beam widths were tested. The effect of beam width on load-carrying capacity, failure mode, crack pattern and 3-D behavior was investigated, and shape effect due to beam width was clarified. In addition, the beams were analyzed by the 3-D rigid-body-spring model (RBSM). RBSM is a discrete form of modeling that presents realistic behavior from cracking to failure, and 3-D RBSM is applicable to simulate 3-D behavior as well as the confinement effect of concrete. Analytical results in terms of load–displacement curves and crack pattern are compared with the experimental results. Three-dimensional deformations, strut widths and cross-sectional stress distribution are investigated analytically and compared with the experimental results to determine 3-D behavior in detail. The 3-D effects in short deep beams are clarified.  相似文献

The temporal changes of a bacterial community in soil with chitin or chitosan added were analyzed by PCR-denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE) targeting the 16S rRNA gene using total DNAs prepared from the community. Band patterns of PCR-DGGE confirmed that 31 species become predominant after the addition of chitin or chitosan. The determination of the nucleotide sequences of the bands of the 31 species indicated that 20 species belonged to the division Proteobacteria, and that the genus Cellvibrio was apparently predominant among them (7/20). The 16S rRNA sequences of the 16 deduced species (16/31) showed less than 98% similarities to those of previously identified bacteria, indicating that the species were derived from unidentified bacteria. The total community DNAs extracted from bacterial cells adsorbed on the surface of flakes of chitin and chitosan placed in a river, a moat, or soil were subjected to PCR-DGGE to examine the extent of diversity of chitinolytic bacteria among different environments. The predominant species significantly differed between the chitin and chitosan placed in the river and moat, but not so much between those placed in the soil. The large difference between the diversities of the three bacterial communities indicated that a wide variety of bacteria including unidentified ones are involved in the degradation of chitin and chitosan in the above-mentioned natural environments.  相似文献
