We demonstrate here a method for controlled production of complex self-assembled three-dimensional networks of InAs nanowires on a substrate, based on sequentially seeded epitaxial nanowire structures, or "nanotrees". A position-controlled array of trunk nanowires is first produced using lithographically defined Au particles as seeds. With these wires positioned along the proper crystallographic directions with respect to each other, nanotree branches grow toward neighboring trunks, connecting them together. Finally, we investigate the crystal structure of the interconnected nanotrees, demonstrating that branch growth after the contact with the second trunk has an epitaxial relationship to that trunk.  相似文献

The aim of this work was to evaluate restriction fragment melting curve analyses (RFMCA) as a novel approach for rapid classification of bacteria during food production. RFMCA was evaluated for bacteria isolated from sous vide food products, and raw materials used for sous vide production. We identified four major bacterial groups in the material analysed (cluster I-Streptococcus, cluster II-Carnobacterium/Bacillus, cluster III-Staphylococcus and cluster IV-Actinomycetales). The accuracy of RFMCA was evaluated by comparison with 16S rDNA sequencing. The strains satisfying the RFMCA quality filtering criteria (73%, n=57), with both 16S rDNA sequence information and RFMCA data (n=45) gave identical group assignments with the two methods. RFMCA enabled rapid and accurate classification of bacteria that is database compatible. Potential application of RFMCA in the food or pharmaceutical industry will include development of classification models for the bacteria expected in a given product, and then to build an RFMCA database as a part of the product quality control.  相似文献

Operating Performance of Screw Vacuum Pumps This paper presents detailed analyses of the operating performance of a dry‐running screw vacuum pump. The characteristic parameters, suction speed and final attainable pressure ‐ which primarily define the operating performance of screw vacuum pumps ‐ are explored in experimental and theoretical investigations. Experiment and simulation in combination are used to show the correlation between the main physical and technical characteristics and the operating performance of screw vacuum pumps. This basic knowledge is essential for understanding the specific machine physics of positive displacement vacuum pumps, especially for screw vacuum pumps, and is useful in view of further design and optimization processes. The experiment covers measurements of the operating performance of the investigated isochoric screw vacuum pump working against ambient pressure. As operating parameters intake pressure (1000mbar to 10‐3mbar) and rotor speed are varied over a wide range. The theoretical analysis of the operating performance contains simplifying models as well as simulations of the thermodynamic processing. The impact of external leakages, clearance vacuum flows and further losses on operating performance are described in detail.  相似文献

Phosphorylcholine (PC) is one of the main oxLDL epitopes playing a central role in atherosclerosis, due to its atherogenic and proinflammatory effects. PC can be cleared by natural IgM antibodies and low levels of these antibodies have been associated with human vein graft (VG) failure. Although PC antibodies are recognized for their anti-inflammatory properties, their effect on intraplaque angiogenesis (IPA) and intraplaque hemorrhage (IPH)—interdependent processes contributing to plaque rupture—are unknown. We hypothesized that new IgG phosphorylcholine antibodies (PC-mAb) could decrease vulnerable lesions in murine VGs.Therefore, hypercholesterolemic male ApoE3*Leiden mice received a (donor) caval vein interposition in the carotid artery and weekly IP injections of (5 mg/kg) PCmAb (n = 11) or vehicle (n = 12) until sacrifice at day 28. We found that PCmAb significantly decreased vein graft media (13%), intima lesion (25%), and increased lumen with 32% compared to controls. PCmAb increased collagen content (18%) and decreased macrophages presence (31%). PCmAb resulted in 23% decreased CD163+ macrophages content in vein grafts whereas CD163 expression was decreased in Hb:Hp macrophages. PCmAb significantly lowered neovessel density (34%), EC proliferation and migration with/out oxLDL stimulation. Moreover, PCmAb enhanced intraplaque angiogenic vessels maturation by increasing neovessel pericyte coverage in vivo (31%). Together, this resulted in a 62% decrease in IPH. PCmAb effectively inhibits murine atherosclerotic lesion formation in vein grafts by reducing IPA and IPH via decreased neovessel density and macrophages influx and increased neovessel maturation. PC-mAb therefore holds promise as a new therapeutic approach to prevent vein graft disease.  相似文献

This article proposes and demonstrates a new classification system of fish population level effects of hydropeaking operations in rivers. The classification of impacts is developed along two axes; first, the hydromorphological effect axis assesses the ecohydraulic alterations in rivers introduced by rapid and frequent variations in flow and water level, second the vulnerability axis assesses the site-specific vulnerability of the fish population. Finally, the population level impact is classified into four classes from small to very large by combining the two axes. The system was tested in four rivers in Norway exposed to hydropeaking, and they displayed a range of outcomes from small to very large impacts on the salmon populations. The river with a relatively high base flow and ramping restrictions scored better than rivers with the lower base flow or limited ramping restrictions, indicating that hydropeaking effects can be mitigated while maintaining high hydropower flexibility. Most effect factors could easily be calculated from timeseries of discharge and water level, whereas the use of hydraulic models to estimate potential stranding areas may require more work. The vulnerability factors are mainly qualitative and depend more heavily on expert judgments and are thus more uncertain. The system was deemed suitable for the purpose of supporting management decisions for rivers exposed to hydropeaking operations. It evaluates the severity of the additional pressures due to hydropeaking operations and proved useful to identify mitigating measures. While the system was developed for Atlantic salmon river systems, it could be adapted to other species or systems.  相似文献
