This study examined the effects of O3 and hot water treatments on the epidermis of Golden papaya fruit. Heat treatments were applied in a hot water brushing (HWB) system. Papayas were brushed under a pressurized hot water rinse stage at 45, 55 and 65 °C for 60 s. In the HWB treatment, 4 ppm ozone was applied to the papayas for 1 or 2 min. The results show that ozone applications did not affect the fruit's cuticular surface, while heat treatments allowed natural fissures on the fruit epidermis to recover. Several crystalloid forms were identified on the epidermis of the papayas after the heat treatments. The predominant crystalloid forms on papayas are tubular and there is a positive response to temperature; the higher the temperature, the larger and more frequent the tubular crystalloids. 相似文献

Nontyphoidal salmonellae are among the most prevalent foodborne pathogens causing gastrointestinal infections worldwide. A high number of cases and outbreaks of salmonellosis are associated with the consumption of eggs and egg products, and several of these occur at the household level. The aim of the current study is to critically evaluate the current status of knowledge on Salmonella in eggs from a consumer's perspective, analyzing the hazard occurrence and the good practices that should be applied to reduce salmonellosis risk. Following a HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) based approach, some steps along the food journey were identified as Critical Consumer Handling (CCH)—steps in which consumers, through their behavior or choice, can significantly reduce the level of Salmonella in eggs and egg products. From shopping/collecting to consumption, each of these steps is discussed in this review to provide an evidence-based overview of risk factors of human salmonellosis related to egg consumption. The main message to consumers is to choose Salmonella-free eggs (those that some official entity or producer guarantees that does not contain Salmonella), when available, especially for dishes that are not fully heat treated. Second, as guaranteed Salmonella-free eggs are only available in a few countries, refrigerated storage from the point of collection and proper cooking will significantly reduce the risk of salmonellosis. This will require a revision of the actual recommendations/regulations, as not all ensure that eggs are maintained at temperatures that prevent growth of Salmonella from collection until the time of purchasing. 相似文献

In this paper, we introduce a generic way to represent and manipulate pairwise information about partial orders (representing rankings, preferences, ...) with belief functions. We provide generic and practical tools to make inferences from this pairwise information and illustrate their use on the machine learning problems that are label ranking and multi-label prediction. In this paper, a photovoltaic system topology incorporating a new maximum power point tracking (MPPT) controller method is presented. This method uses an autotuning estimator and a PI controller to make the system work in the maximum power point. The controller is formulated based on the bijectivity in the photovoltaic generator characteristic; therefore, if the optimal voltage is reached, this means that the maximum of power is obtained. The proposed MPPT algorithm is implemented on a dSpace DS1104 controller board. In order to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed algorithm in real time, an experimental setup using a boost converter connected to a resistive load is successfully implemented and studied. Using two types of bisoliton pairings leads to charged stripes in YBCO, Which are similar to tiling of (1×2)-dominoes in an (n×2)-checkerboard. We estimated the stripe length in YBCO and determined accurate values of T c,max as a function of the golden ratio and the numbers of bisolitons in the stripes. This model predicted that the two possible orientations of stripes are vertical and horizontal. Our results agree well with experimental data. 相似文献

High-purity nanocrystalline aluminum nitride powders were synthesized by using a 12?kW non-transferred arc plasma. The synthesis was conducted in a versatile, new designed, one-chamber thermal plasma reactor (TPR). The novel experimental assembly incorporated better working conditions like: high temperature gradient between the crucible and reactor's wall, and high super-saturation of the system by nitrogen and carbon. Thermodynamic modelling of the synthesis was conducted in order to achieve the best conditions for AlN formation. In this study, aluminum discs of Al 1100 were used as precursor material and pure nitrogen was the only gas used as reagent and plasmogenic gas.Nanopowders collected from reactor's wall were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and X-Ray diffraction (XRD). Synthesized h-AlN nano-powders were found to be free of oxides and aluminum metal. A thin carbon-layer around the particles was detected. TEM results indicated that the carbon-layer was around 5 and 10?nm. This outcome could make a significant difference with other synthesis reported in the literature since the occurrence of the carbon-layer, could delay AlN oxidation, prevent hydration, and could avoid the agglomeration of the particles. 相似文献

Metal injection molding (MIM) is a near net shape manufacturing method that allows for the production of components of small to moderate size and complex shape. MIM is a cost-effective and flexible manufacturing technique that provides a large innovative potential over existing methods for the industry of implantable devices. Commercially pure titanium (CP-Ti) samples were machined to the same shape as a composite feedstock with titanium and polyoxymethylene, and these metals were injected, debinded and sintered to assess comparative biological properties. Moreover, we treated MIM-Ti parts with BIOCOAT®, BIODIZE® and BIOCER®, three different anodic oxidation techniques that treat titanium using acid, alkaline and anion enriched electrolytes, respectively. Cytocompatibility as well as morphological and chemical features of surfaces was comparatively assessed on each sample, and the results revealed that MIM-Ti compared to CP-Ti demonstrated a specific surface topography with a higher roughness. MIM-Ti and BIOCER® samples significantly enhanced cell proliferation, cell adhesion and cell differentiation compared to CP-Ti. Interestingly, in the anodization post-treatment established in this study, we demonstrated the ability to improve osseointegration through anionic modification treatment. The excellent biological response we observed with MIM parts using the injection molding process represents a promising manufacturing method for the future implantable devices in direct contact with bones. 相似文献

The reprocessing of endoscopes is a complex procedure due to their structural design. In the constant search for new antimicrobial substances, recent studies with ozone have yielded great benefits. The present study evaluated the effects of ozonated water used to disinfect endoscopes comparing its efficacy with the conventional technique (2% glutaraldehyde). According to the results obtained, when ozonated water was used (330 mg.min.L?1), induced a 2 log reduction of the viable microorganisms under the conditions tested. Ozonated water was a potent gastrointestinal endoscopic sanitizer, suggesting it is a feasible alternative for disinfection. 相似文献
