We analyze the behavior of a dense granular aggregate made by identical, elastic spheres, uni-axially compressed at constant pressure. Our goal is to predict the evolution of the effective moduli along the loading path when small perturbations are applied to stressed states. The analytical model is based upon the average strain theory. We show that the moduli in the anisotropic state normalized with the corresponding initial isotropic value, are captured by a so crude model. Numerical simulations support this result.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to develop regression equations to predict manual arm strength for a wide variety of hand locations within the reach envelope. Maximum voluntary manual arm strength was determined from 71 female participants in six exertion directions (superior, inferior, anterior, posterior, medial and lateral), in a total of 28 hand locations. Forces ranged from 51.3 to 164.4 N, and had a pooled coefficient of variation of 29.9%. Across all 168 combinations of hand locations and exertion directions, the multivariate regression equations explained 92.5% of the variance and had a root mean square error (RMSE) of only 6.4 N, using only the anterior, lateral and vertical location of the hand relative to the active shoulder joint as inputs. These equations provide a proof-of-principle for our novel regression approach, and represent a first step towards a more comprehensive equation to estimate maximum acceptable forces for occupational tasks.  相似文献

The objective of this work is to review the environmental and ecological policy instruments that Mexican legislation for existence of an Official Mexican Hydrogen Standard according to the premises motivates decarbonization. There is a worldwide interest in hydrogen (H2) and its incorporation into legal systems. In Mexico there are large legal gaps that question the legality of H2, because it is not recognized in a federal law and is only considered in technical standards of voluntary application. Also, Mexico has forest, agricultural, and livestock waste that, if properly used, can cover the energy demand of communities. The main findings of this study refer to the fact that, according to international standards for the management of H2 and taking into account the regulatory limitations in Mexico, it is possible to promote, an Official Mexican Standard exclusively aimed at establishing the minimum requirements for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of H2 storage, considering the areas of the opportunity offered by foreign experiences, according to the Mexican context. It is concluded that the parameters of legality exist in the instruments of environmental policy, to support the existence of an Official Mexican Standard of H2.  相似文献

The foreseen uptake of hydrogen mobility is a fundamental step towards the decarbonization of the transport sector. Under such premises, both refueling infrastructure and vehicles should be deployed together with improved refueling protocols. Several studies focus on refueling the light-duty vehicles with 10 kgH2 up to 700 bar, however less known effort is reported for refueling heavy-duty vehicles with 30–40 kgH2 at 350 bar. The present study illustrates the application of a lumped model to a fuel cell bus tank-to-tank refueling event, tailored upon the real data acquired in the 3Emotion Project. The evolution of the main refueling quantities, such as pressure, temperature, and mass flow, are predicted dynamically throughout the refueling process, as a function of the operating parameters, within the safety limits imposed by SAE J2601/2 technical standard. The results show to refuel the vehicle tank from half to full capacity with an Average Pressure Ramp Rate (APRR) equal to 0.03 MPa/s are needed about 10 min. Furthermore, it is found that the effect of varying the initial vehicle tank pressure is more significant than changing the ambient temperature on the refueling performances. In conclusion, the analysis of the effect of different APRR, from 0.03 to 0.1 MPa/s, indicate that is possible to safely reduce the duration of half-to-full refueling by 62% increasing the APRR value from 0.03 to 0.08 MPa/s.  相似文献

In this work the effect of spent diatomaceous earth (SDE), as pore forming or silica carrier, on the properties of clay ceramic bricks was investigated. Mixtures of clay and SDE waste were, compacted, dried and fired at 950°C during 6?h. The technological properties of waste-clay bricks were analysed to evaluate the influence of the waste incorporation. The SDE (1–5?wt-%) addition in the clay matrix causes a reduction between 6 and 12% of the bulk density compared with the control samples (only clay) which implies good insulating characteristics. In addition, the waste incorporation increases the water absorption within the range 4–31% and decreases the compressive strength between 12 and 26%. However, the incorporation of the waste is beneficial as no remarkable changes in the technological properties are observed. These results indicate that the waste has a predominant pore forming effect over a pore filling effect.  相似文献

Formation of a zone of interconnected fractures during coal mining is a key factor in mine flooding. Coal mines in western China are characterized by thick coal seams with mechanically weak overburden. In situ studies including drill core analysis, drilling fluid loss measurement, and borehole video monitoring were used at the working face 101 in Shaanxi Jinjitan coal mine to explore the maximum height of the interconnected fractures zone (IFZ). Also, tests on a scaled physical model and numerical simulation based on the drilling data were used to study the formation of the fractured zone. By considering data from other mines with similar mining conditions, a logarithmic relationship was found between the maximum height of the IFZ and the thickness of coal excavation. The maximum height of the IFZ was found to be 27 times the thickness of the excavated coal seam, which is far more than in coal mining areas in eastern China. Also, the IFZ in overlying strata of the study area was arch-shaped, not saddle-shaped, as had been observed in previous studies.  相似文献

Immigrant homeowners’ function within ethnic boundaries in the housing market may have helped or hindered them during the recent U.S. Great Recession. This research explores this theme through interviews with immigrant and non-immigrant homeowners from four ethnic communities in Los Angeles County and the non-profit organizations that tried to assist them. Immigrant homeowners turned to co-ethnics for advice and support and formed multigenerational households as a strategy to achieve and sustain homeownership. Language and cultural barriers primed them for risky loans and thwarted their pursuit of refinance and modification when they struggled to make mortgage payments. These findings conform to existing evidence of ethnic segmentation in the housing market and imply that analyses of home buying and homeownership in areas with significant immigrant populations should factor in the role of ethnicity.  相似文献

The performance of six numerical methods usually used to determine the atmospheric boundary layer (ABL) height from lidar measurements was investigated under different atmospheric conditions: results were compared with those obtained from radiosoundings to analyse their reliability for ABL-height retrievals. The selected methods were the gradient method (GM), the logarithm gradient method (LGM), the inflection point method (IPM), the wavelet covariance transform (WCT), the centroid/variance method (VM), and the cluster analysis (CA). Lidar measurements were carried out in the frame of the ‘Atmospheric Minor Species relevant to the Ozone Chemistry’ (AMISOC) project during a multi-instrument campaign conducted at the INTA/Atmospheric Observatory ‘El Arenosillo’ (INTA/ARN) in south-western Spain from 15 May to 20 June 2012. The goal of this work is to analyse the performance and robustness of the different lidar methods in this region, characterized by particular atmospheric conditions. In particular, both events of sea–land breeze regimes and episodes of Saharan dust intrusions were studied. In most days, similar results were obtained by all lidar methods in the events of sea–land breeze regimes, presenting relative absolute differences between lidar and radiosounding retrievals below 12% in average. However, big discrepancies between lidar and radiosounding retrievals are found when residual layers are present in the measurements. In such cases, the vertical extension of lidar and radiosounding profiles must to be limited to the altitude of the residual layer bottom. In a second analysis, focused on diurnal variability in the ABL heights under non-dusty (ND) and dusty (DD) conditions, the methods were tested against intensive radiosoundings launched every 4 h over 2 days. Under ND conditions, the best results were achieved for the LGM, presenting a mean of the relative absolute differences respect to radiosounding measurements of 10%. The rest of methods also provided good results with relative differences below 20% in average. Under DD conditions, however, an increase of the relative differences is found with mean values of up 32%. In this case, best results are given by CA with a mean relative difference of 20%. Despite the limited data set used in this work, results show that unlike the ND conditions for which all lidar methods provide good results respect to radiosounding retrievals, under DD conditions the election of the lidar method is a key factor for ABL estimation. However, we remark the need of extending our analysis to longer periods of time to better characterize the differences observed in this work.  相似文献

Hyperbaric storage at naturally variable room temperature (RT) conditions (18–21 °C) and above (30 °C) was evaluated as a possible new food preservation method, regardless of temperature. Preservation of watermelon juice (used as a case study of a highly perishable food) at RT and 5 °C at atmospheric pressure was compared to preservation under 100 MPa at RT. After 8 h of hyperbaric storage at 100 MPa, the initial microbial loads of the watermelon juice were reduced by 1 log unit for total aerobic mesophiles, and 1–2 log units for Enterobacteriaceae and yeasts and moulds, to levels of about 3 log units for the former and below the detection limit for the latter, and remained thereafter unchanged up to 60 h. Similar results were obtained at 30 °C at 100 MPa after 8 h. At atmospheric pressure at RT (24 h) and 30 °C (8 h), microbial levels were already above quantification limits and unacceptable for consumption. Furthermore, pressure attenuated the increase in titratable acidity verified at atmospheric pressure, but caused higher colour changes, especially a higher lightness and a lower browning degree. Post-hyperbaric storage at 5 °C revealed an extended shelf life, as an additional benefit of hyperbaric storage. These results show that hyperbaric storage is a very promising food preservation methodology.  相似文献
