Experimental and theoretical comparison of NIR spectroscopy measurements of cerebral hemoglobin changes

Two near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) methods are available for measuring changes (Delta) in total cerebral hemoglobin concentration (CHC): 1) a continuous measurement of the changes in total hemoglobin concentration (Delta[Hb]tot) and 2) the difference between two absolute measurements of CHC, each derived from a small, controlled change in inspired O2 fraction. This paper investigates the internal consistency of these two methods by using an experimental and theoretical comparison. NIRS was used to measure [Hb]tot in five newborn piglets before and after a change in arterial PCO2. Delta[Hb]tot demonstrated a low coefficient of variation of 2.8 +/- 2.8 (SD) % which allowed changes in CO2-cerebral blood volume reactivity to be clearly discriminated. However, a high coefficient of variation of 22.8 +/- 3.5% on the DeltaCHC measurements obscured any CO2 reactivity changes. A theoretical analysis demonstrates the effects of optical pathlength, background absorption, scatter, and blood vessel diameter on both methods. For more accurate monitoring of CHC, individual measurements of optical pathlength and more accurate pulse oximetry are required.     

高炉炉渣流动性的实验研究

以宝钢高炉渣中的四大组元(CaO,SiO2,Al2O3,MgO)为基础,实验研究MgO,Al2O3含量及碱度对炉渣的熔化性温度和流动性的影响.结果表明,炉渣中Al2O3含量控制在16%,配制适量的MgO(9%～10%),在1 500℃以上的高温区域,炉渣仍能保持正常的流动性,适合炉缸温度充沛的高炉使用;MgO含量由6%增加到10%时,较明显地降低了炉渣粘度,粘度的递减值约为0.07～0.15 Pa.s.     

赛汉塔拉凹陷滑塌浊积岩的发现与勘探意义

通过研究二连盆地赛汉塔拉凹陷中洼槽陡坡带的含鲕粒块状细砂岩从岩性特征、沉积结构及构造特征、粒度特征、测井曲线特征、地震反射特征以及对其形成机理的分析,认为赛83x含油砂岩体为在半深湖一深湖环境形成的滑塌浊积扇沉积.这种类型的滑塌浊积扇具备分选、磨圆度、物性较好等条件,尤其是此类砂岩体往往被形成于深湖一半深湖相还原环境的深灰色、灰黑色泥岩--成熟烃源岩所包围,易形成岩性圈闭,有利于油气的运移和聚集成藏,是断陷湖盆陡坡带油气勘探的重要目标.     

Teachers' and deaf students' perceptions of communication ease and engagement.

Collected ratings of communication ease and of engagement for 95 deaf junior and senior high school students (aged 12–21 yrs) in a large, urban, multiethnic school for the deaf. Ratings were made by the students' English teachers and by the students themselves. High teacher ratings for communication ease and engagement were associated with high academic achievement as measured by the Stanford Achievement Test. High student ratings for communication ease were also associated with academic achievement. The 2 best predictors of academic achievement were student-rated communication ease and teacher-rated engagement. Findings suggest that it is important for teachers to be sensitive to the level of communication comfort of their students because students who enjoy easier communication may be more likely to be engaged, or more actively involved, in classroom learning and to demonstrate higher academic achievement. 介绍了双迭片弯曲压电陶瓷换能器的制作及边缘固定金属压电陶瓷双迭片弯曲振动，并利用有限元分析了换能器的谐振模式，采用激光多普勒干涉仪对换能器的谐振特性以及振动速度和位移分布进行了测量和分析，结果表明：换能器空载性能良好，通过有限元分析与先进测量手段的结合，能够对换能器器件的制作与分析进行指导。

An experimental investigation of electrically thick rectangular microstrip antennas

The electromagnetic properties of electrically thick rectangular microstrip antennas were investigated experimentally. Antennas were fabricated with different patch sizes and with electrical thicknesses ranging from 0.03 to 0.23 wavelengths in the dielectric substrate. The resonant frequencies were measured and compared to existing formulas. The bandwidth was calculated as a function of electrical thickness and the antenna radiation patterns were measured.
