A comparative study of the influence of processing route on polyurethanes (PUs)/multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) composites mechanical and electrical properties and also morphology was undergone employing two differentiated processing methods, solvent casting and buckypaper infiltration, for producing PU composites with low, medium and high mass fractions of acid treated MWCNT, and with no covalent linkages between the matrix and the nanotubes. As for example, with a MWCNT mass fraction of ∼18 wt.% the second method produced stiffer (270 MPa), lighter (948 kg m−3) and more electrically conductive (1.8 S cm−1) composite while the first one gave softer (111 MPa) and more ductile (141%) materials. These properties differences are related to the different PU/MWCNT dispositions obtained through each synthesis route. Nanotubes percolating concentration is found to be crucial on composite properties evolution and a preferential interaction of MWCNT with PU hard segments is observed for solvent cast composites.  相似文献

A comparative investigation of high-energy neutrons effect on strained and non-strained devices with different geometries is presented. Both single-gate planar and multiple-gate (MuG) silicon-on-insulator (SOI) devices are considered. Device response to the neutron irradiation is assessed through the variations of threshold voltage and transconductance maximum. The difference between strained and non-strained device response to the high-energy neutrons exposure is clearly evidenced. The reasons for such a difference are discussed. Analysis of the experimental results allows for suggesting that strain relaxation is one of the probable causes.  相似文献

Nanostructured thermoelectric powders can be produced using a variety of techniques. However, it is very challenging to build a bulk material from these nanopowders without losing the nanostructure. In the present work, nanostructured powders of the bismuth telluride alloy system are obtained in kilogram quantities via a gas atomization process. These powders are characterized using a variety of methods including scanning electron microscopy, transition electron microscopy, and x-ray diffraction analysis. Then the powders are consolidated into a dense bulk material using a shock-wave consolidation technique whereby a nanopowder-containing tube is surrounded by explosives and then detonated. The resulting shock wave causes rapid fusing of the powders without the melt and subsequent grain growth of other techniques. We describe the test setup and consolidation results.  相似文献

The accurate manipulation of strain in silicon nanowires can unveil new fundamental properties and enable novel or enhanced functionalities. To exploit these potentialities, it is essential to overcome major challenges at the fabrication and characterization levels. With this perspective, we have investigated the strain behavior in nanowires fabricated by patterning and etching of 15 nm thick tensile strained silicon (100) membranes. To this end, we have developed a method to excite the "forbidden" transverse-optical (TO) phonons in single tensile strained silicon nanowires using high-resolution polarized Raman spectroscopy. Detecting this phonon is critical for precise analysis of strain in nanoscale systems. The intensity of the measured Raman spectra is analyzed based on three-dimensional field distribution of radial, azimuthal, and linear polarizations focused by a high numerical aperture lens. The effects of sample geometry on the sensitivity of TO measurement are addressed. A significantly higher sensitivity is demonstrated for nanowires as compared to thin layers. In-plane and out-of-plane strain profiles in single nanowires are obtained through the simultaneous probe of local TO and longitudinal-optical (LO) phonons. New insights into strained nanowires mechanical properties are inferred from the measured strain profiles.  相似文献

A new assay was designed to measure the release of omega-3 acids [eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA)] from the hydrolysis of sardine oil by lipases immobilized inside porous supports. A biphasic system was used containing the fish oil dissolved in the organic phase and the immobilized lipase suspended in the aqueous phase. The assay was optimized by using a very active derivative of Rhizomucor miehei lipase (RML) adsorbed onto octyl-Sepharose. Standard reaction conditions were: (a) an organic phase composed by 30/70 (v:v) of oil in cyclohexane, (b) an aqueous phase containing 50 mM methyl-cyclodextrin in 10 mM Tris buffer at pH 7.0. The whole reaction system was incubated at 25 °C. Under these conditions, up to 2% of the oil is partitioned into the aqueous phase and most of the 95% of released acids were partitioned into the organic phase. The organic phase was analyzed by RP-HPLC (UV detection at 215 nm) and even very low concentrations (e.g., 0.05 mM) of released omega-3 fatty acid could be detected with a precision higher than 99%. Three different lipases adsorbed on octyl-Sepharose were compared: Candida antarctica lipase-fraction B (CALB), Thermomyces lanuginosa lipase (TLL) and RML. The three enzyme derivatives were very active. However, most active and selective towards polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) versus oleic plus palmitic acids (a fourfold factor) was CALB. On the other hand, the most selective derivatives towards EPA versus DHA (a 4.5-fold factor) were TLL and RML derivatives.  相似文献

To machine a noncoaxial nonaxisymmetric aspheric lens, a new parallel grinding method that employs a fixture with an adjustable gradient (AGF) is proposed. The AGF is developed for a three-axis computer numerically controlled grinding machine. The grinding method is presented according to the proposed grinding system. To ensure the machining accuracy, the main machining errors and the compensation algorithm are discussed for the grinding method using the AGF. Simulation results show that the AGF rotation errors are crucial factors affecting the profile error of the machined workpiece. Experimental results show that employing the compensation algorithm increases machining accuracy.  相似文献

The use of the social web has brought a series of changes in the way how content is created. In particular, social news sites link stories and the different users can comment them. In this paper, we propose a new method based on different features extracted from the text able to categorise the comments. To this end, we use a combination of statistical, syntactic and opinion features and machine-learning classifiers to classify a comment within three different categorisation types: the focus of the comment, the type of information contained in the comment and the controversy level of the comment. We validate our approach with data from ‘Menéame’, a popular Spanish social news site.  相似文献

Shrimp is one of the most popular seafood items worldwide, and has been reported as a source of chemopreventive compounds. In this study, shrimp lipids were separated by solvent partition and further fractionated by semi-preparative RP-HPLC and finally by open column chromatography in order to obtain isolated antiproliferative compounds. Antiproliferative activity was assessed by inhibition of M12.C3.F6 murine cell growth using the MTT (3-(4,5-dimethyl-2-thiazolyl)-2,5-diphenyl-2-H-tetrazolium bromide) assay. The methanolic fraction showed the highest antiproliferative activity; this fraction was separated into 15 different sub-fractions (M1–M15). Fractions M8, M9, M10, M12, and M13 were antiproliferative at 100 µg/mL and they were further tested at lower concentrations. Fractions M12 and M13 exerted the highest growth inhibition with an IC50 of 19.5 ± 8.6 and 34.9 ± 7.3 µg/mL, respectively. Fraction M12 was further fractionated in three sub-fractions M12a, M12b, and M12c. Fraction M12a was identified as di-ethyl-hexyl-phthalate, fraction M12b as a triglyceride substituted by at least two fatty acids (predominantly oleic acid accompanied with eicosapentaenoic acid) and fraction M12c as another triglyceride substituted with eicosapentaenoic acid and saturated fatty acids. Bioactive triglyceride contained in M12c exerted the highest antiproliferative activity with an IC50 of 11.33 ± 5.6 µg/mL. Biological activity in shrimp had been previously attributed to astaxanthin; this study demonstrated that polyunsaturated fatty acids are the main compounds responsible for antiproliferative activity.  相似文献
