Using a dynamic fabrication process, hybrid, photoactivated microswimmers made from two different semiconductors, titanium dioxide (TiO2) and cuprous oxide (Cu2O) are developed, where each material occupies a distinct portion of the multiconstituent particles. Structured light‐activated microswimmers made from only TiO2 or Cu2O are observed to be driven in hydrogen peroxide and water most vigorously under UV or blue light, respectively, whereas hybrid structures made from both of these materials exhibit wavelength‐dependent modes of motion due to the disparate responses of each photocatalyst. It is also found that the hybrid particles are activated in water alone, a behavior which is not observed in those made from a single semiconductor, and thus, the system may open up a new class of fuel‐free photoactive colloids that take advantage of semiconductor heterojunctions. The TiO2/Cu2O hybrid microswimmer presented here is but an example of a broader method for inducing different modes of motion in a single light‐activated particle, which is not limited to the specific geometries and materials presented in this study.  相似文献

A method to derive reflectance spectra and colour coordinates of meat by measurement of reflectance at only three wavelengths, 480, 570 and 620 nm has been developed, by treating the spectra of a meat sample as a linear combination of the spectra of the three major myoglobin derivatives (reduced myoglobin, oxymyoglobin and metmyoglobin). Applied to 300 samples of Semitendinosus and Longissimus dorsi veal muscles at different times post mortem (24 h to 9 d), colour differences ΔE (?) between the derived spectra and the real ones were about 1.5 units. The total pigment content, with high correlation with the extraction method (P < 0.02), and the relative proportions of the derivatives can also be estimated.  相似文献

The effect of partial replacement of NaCl (3% NaCl) with KCl (1.5% NaCl and 1% KCl) on the lipid fraction of dry fermented sausages inoculated with Lactobacillus plantarum and Staphylococcus carnosus as starter culture was analysed. The reduction in salt concentration did not affect the Micrococcaceae count. A positive effect on the intensity of lipolytic activity was observed as a consequence of the decrease in salt level. There was no decrease in the oxidative processes. The higher amounts of volatile fatty acids found suggest that the tested modification enhances some of their mechanisms of synthesis.  相似文献

Light and transmission electron microscopy techniques have been applied in observations of hypervelocity impact craters in two different copper targets: a 38 m grain size mill-processed target, and a 763 m grain size annealed target, the smaller grained target being impacted with a 1100 aluminium sphere and the larger grained target being impacted with a soda-lime glass sphere, at velocities near 6 km s–1. Both target craters exhibited dynamic recrystallization near the crater wall. The jetting associated with these two craters was very different. Considerably more plastic flow and a larger rim characterized the larger grained target. No significant melt-related phenomena were observed either near the crater wall or in the jetted rim for either crater. Consequently, the principal features of crater formation involve extreme plastic flow in the solid state. Microbands were observed to occur profusely in a zone below the smaller grained mill-processed target crater while more profuse and extremely long, unidirectional bundles of microbands (which were coincident with traces of {1 1 1} planes) occurred below the annealed larger grained target crater. These observations attest to the dominant and unique role played by deformation microbands in cratering in copper, because essentially no deformation twins were observed in either target.  相似文献

Although Berman and Hafner [Berman 1989, pp. 928–938] presented the possibility to adapt the model of reasoning of development of an expert system for medical diagnosis to the reasoning of a judge when he/she sentences criminals does not resemble the reasoning found in the decisions of physicians, mathematicians or statisticians.When a lawyer reasons, he/she not only looks for the solution of a case; he/she simultaneously looks for the bases on which his/her reasoning can rest [Galindo 1992, pp. 363–367]. That is to say, he/she not only needs to find the solution but moreover he/she has to find the references (laws, jurisprudence and bibliography) that allow him/her to argue the solution.In many cases, computer solutions to these reasoning processes have been made in a separated way: the solution to the cases using expert systems, and the search of documentation using information retrieval systems.This paper presents the ARPO-2 prototype, a solution integrating the two aspects of legal reasoning: an expert system which is able to simultaneously find the solution to a problem and to give the necessary references so that the lawyer argues the solution. The subject on which the prototype solves problems is the breach of building contracts.In this paper, we describe the process of development of an expert system for solving, justification and documentation of breach of contracts, giving details on the way how the objects that intervene in the case were defined as well as on the reasoning followed.This paper was funded in part by DGICYT, Spanish Civil Law Computerization Project: PB870-632.  相似文献

The internal motions inside a liquid meniscus in the so-called liquid cone-jet mode, which can occur upon stimulation by a coflowing gas sheath in flow focusing, are explored by both numerical simulation and experimental visualization. The results for low viscosity liquids show that, as in previous numerical simulations, a recirculating cell inside the meniscus appears when the injected liquid flow rate is reduced. Thus, as the flow rate is reduced not only the average residence time of particles in the meniscus becomes longer, but the appearance of a recirculation cell provides a natural platform for the efficient micro-mixing of different species before they are ejected through the issuing jet. The numerical results were confirmed with experimental visualization of the flow inside the meniscus using a dyed liquid. However, when the viscosity of the liquid is increased the recirculating cell disappears. In this case, viscous stresses organize the streamlines and direct the flow to the meniscus tip, which prevents the recirculating cell from being formed even for very small injected rate of liquid flow.  相似文献

As the dependence on mobile devices increases, the need for supporting a wider range of users and devices becomes crucial. Elders and people with disabilities adopt new technologies reluctantly, a tendency caused by the lack of adaptation of these technologies to their needs. To address this challenge, this paper describes a framework, Imhotep, whose aim is to aid developers in the accessible application creation process, making the creation of user-centered applications easier and faster. Our framework allows to easily adapt the applications to the constraints imposed by the user capabilities (sensorial, cognitive, and physical capabilities) and device capabilities by providing a repository that will manage the compilation and deployment of applications that include a set of preprocessor directives in the source code. These directives are enhanced with concepts that are automatically adjusted to the current trends of mobile devices by using a Fuzzy Knowledge-Eliciting Reasoner. Our final goal is to increase the number of applications targeted to elders and people with disabilities providing tools that facilitate their development. The paper also describes the evaluation of both the accuracy of the fuzzy terms generated for mobile devices and the usability of the proposed platform.  相似文献

In this work, we propose new techniques to analyze the behavior, the performance, and specially the scalability of High Performance Computing (in short, HPC) applications on different computing architectures. Our final objective is to test applications using a wide range of architectures (real or merely designed) and scaling it to any number of nodes or components. This paper presents a new simulation framework, called SIMCAN, for HPC architectures. The main characteristic of the proposed simulation framework is the ability to be configured for simulating a wide range of possible architectures that involve any number of components. SIMCAN is developed to simulate complete HPC architectures, but putting special emphasis on the storage and network subsystems. The SIMCAN framework can handle complete components (nodes, racks, switches, routers, etc.), but also key elements of the storage and network subsystems (disks, caches, sockets, file systems, schedulers, etc.). We also propose several methods to implement the behavior of HPC applications. Each method has its own advantages and drawbacks. In order to evaluate the possibilities and the accuracy of the SIMCAN framework, we have tested it by executing a HPC application called BIPS3D on a hardware-based computing cluster and on a modeled environment that represent the real cluster. We also checked the scalability of the application using this kind of architecture by simulating the same application with an increased number of computing nodes.  相似文献

This paper examines different technologies that can be applied in the design and development of a ground control station for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) equipped with multimodal interfaces. Multimodal technologies employ multiple sensory channels/modalities for information transmission as well as for system control. Examples of these technologies could be haptic feedback, head tracking, auditory information (3D audio), voice control, tactile displays, etc. The applicability and benefits of those technologies is analyzed for a task consisting in the acknowledgement of alerts in an UAV ground control station composed by three screens and managed by a single operator. For this purpose, several experiments were conducted with a group of individuals using different combinations of modal conditions (visual, aural and tactile).  相似文献
