A correlation-based double-directional stochastic channel model for indoor multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) ultra-wideband (UWB) propagation channels is proposed. The proposed model extends the IEEE 802.15.3a standard model to spatially correlated MIMO channels. Both angular and temporal statistics are taken into account in the modelling procedure. Spatial correlation is introduced into the multipath amplitude and time-of-arrival (ToA) matrices of the channel model. Each amplitude matrix consists of entries of correlated lognormal random variables, whereas each ToA matrix is obtained as the sum of a reference matrix and a difference matrix. The frequency-dependent spatial correlation function is derived to give an insight of model properties. Model parameters are determined based on well-known measurement campaigns. In addition, simulation-based analysis indicates that this model has desirable spatial correlation properties in both the time and frequency domains. The ToA correlation matrix was also found to have dominant effects on the correlation characteristics. This suggests that future research into spatial correlation properties of MIMO-UWB channels should focus on ToA correlation characteristics, rather than amplitude correlation characteristics, which are the current focus of narrowband and wideband MIMO channel research. 相似文献

The high affinity growth hormone-binding protein (GHBP) circulates in human blood and represents the extracellular domain of the growth hormone (GH) receptor. It is well known that repetitive bouts of endurance type exercise result in increased integrated GH secretion. As the effects of chronic exercise on plasma GHBP levels have never been studied systematically, we investigated the effect of 2 weeks of intense endurance training on plasma GHBP as well as on plasma insulin-like growth factor (IGF)-I levels in 10 healthy, young, non-obese men. IGF-I was measured as an indicator of the effects of GH release. We also studied 10 control subjects matched for sex, age and activity, who were instructed not to change their customary activities. GHBP was determined by FPLC size exclusion chromatography and subsequent Scatchard plot analysis of the binding data; IGF-I levels were measured by RIA. The results showed that plasma IGF-I and GHBP levels were increased in the subjects who followed the training program. IGF-I and GHBP changed from 252 +/- 56 ng/ml and 912 +/- 59 pmol/l before training, to 344 +/- 61 ng/ml (p < 0.01) and 1020 +/- 48 pmol/l (p < 0.01), respectively. Another effect of the training was that the aerobic capacity of these subjects was better utilized and endurance was improved. In contrast, plasma IGF-I, GHBP, utilization of aerobic capacity and endurance did not change significantly in the control subjects. 4-(5-methyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole-2-yl) benzene-1,3-diol (C1) and 4-[5-(naphthalen-1-ylmethyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl] benzene1,3-diol (NTBD) are representative derivatives of the thiadiazole group, with a high antimycotic potential and minimal toxicity against normal human fibroblast cells. The present study has proved its ability to synergize with the antifungal activity of AmB. The aim of this work was to evaluate the cytotoxic effects of C1 or NTBD, alone or in combination with AmB, on human renal proximal tubule epithelial cells (RPTECs) in vitro. Cell viability was assessed with the MTT assay. Flow cytometry and spectrofluorimetric techniques were used to assess the type of cell death and production of reactive oxygen species (ROS), respectively. The ELISA assay was performed to measure the caspase-2, -3, and -9 activity. ATR-FTIR spectroscopy was used to evaluate biomolecular changes in RPTECs induced by the tested formulas. The combinations of C1/NTBD and AmB did not exert a strong inhibitory effect on the viability/growth of kidney cells, as evidenced by the negligible changes in the apoptotic/necrotic rate and caspase activity, compared to the control cells. Both NTBD and C1 displayed stronger anti-oxidant activity when combined with AmB. The relatively low nephrotoxicity of the thiadiazole derivative combinations and the protective activity against AmB-induced oxidative stress may indicate their potential use in the therapy of fungal infections. 相似文献

Preparation of polymeric membranes based on polyethersulfone (PES) modified by adding different amounts of a pore-forming agent (PVP) is presented, and potential application of the membranes obtained for removal of phenol from the liquid phase is examined. The addition of various amounts of PVP has been shown to bring about changes in the content of the surface oxygen groups, but has no significant effect on the chemical character of the groups and acidic groups dominate. Filtration by phenol solution leads to significant changes in the total content of surface oxides; however, the acidic groups remain dominant. Membranes characterized by higher porosity exhibited more stable and higher rejection ratio for phenol removal. Although all the membranes were characterized by similar rejection ratios for phenol removal, the cake resistance (Rc) and pore resistance (Rp) values were found to depend significantly on the structure and porosity of the membrane applied for filtration. 相似文献

A methodology is proposed for estimating a combined transportation model that accommodates spatial aggregation. It employs maximum likelihood estimation using a joint probability function that includes destination and mode choice simultaneously. The main contribution of the paper is the incorporation of a spatial aggregation strategy to validate the method when the survey data are insufficient. By aggregating small zones into larger districts, estimation of the trip distribution parameters can be achieved with limited data, while mode choice continues to be estimated using disaggregated data. Our results demonstrate that including trip distribution in the travel decision induces variations in the utility function parameter estimators obtained for the different travel modes when only mode choice is estimated.
