The corrosion mechanisms of Al–Cr–Fe and Al–Cu–Fe–Cr complex metallic alloys have been investigated by potentiodynamic and potentiostatic polarization. Very good passivation of the Al–Cr–Fe surface is exhibited from 1 M H2SO4 to 1 M NaOH solutions, which was confirmed by ICP-OES analysis over a period of 273 days. Potentiostatically formed passive films analysed by XPS revealed chromium enrichment in the outermost layer of the aluminium oxy-hydroxide film. Although Al–Cu–Fe–Cr showed passivation during potentiodynamic polarization, heavy active corrosion at OCP was revealed by ICP-OES. For the Al–Cu–Fe–Cr alloy, the 10% content of Cr is insufficient to maintain a protective “chemically stable” Cr oxide/hydroxide.  相似文献

The present brief review aims at elucidation of the parameters affecting the properties and reactivity of high valent iron(IV) oxo porphyrin complexes, being models of compound II reactive intermediate known from biochemistry of cytochromes and peroxidases. Hydrostatic extrusion is an efficient method of grain refinement to the nanometer scale in metallic materials. The paper shows that it can be used directly to obtain a mean grain size smaller than 100 nm with a significant fraction of high angle grain boundaries in aluminum alloys, titanium, and iron. It is also demonstrated that grain size reduction to this level in some other materials, e.g., nickel, requires a combination of hydrostatic extrusion (HE), as the final operation, after some other methods of severe plastic deformation (SPD). Grain refinement in metallic materials by HE has a significant effect on their properties with a significant increase in mechanical strength and improvement of wear and corrosion resistance while maintaining an acceptable level of plasticity.  相似文献

The mammary gland undergoes extensive tissue remodelling during each lactation cycle. During pregnancy, the epithelial compartment of the gland is vastly expanded (Benaud et al. 1998). At the end of lactation the epithelial cells undergo apoptosis and adipocyte differentiation is induced (Lilla et al. 2002). Ductal and alveolar growth during puberty and pregnancy, and the involution process require the action of proteolytic enzymes (including matrix metalloproteinases, plasminogen and membrane-peptidases) and the corresponding genes are activated during these periods (Benaud et al. 1998; Alexander et al. 2001). Matrix metalloproteinases (MMP) are expressed in several cell types of the mammary gland including stromal fibroblasts (e.g., MMP3, MMP2), epithelial cells (e.g., MMP7 or MMP9), adipocytes (e.g., MMP2) and lymphoid cells (e.g., MMP9) (Crawford et al. 1996; Lund et al. 1996; Wiseman et al. 2003). A number of knock-out mice, which are deficient for individual MMP genes (e.g., MMP2, MMP3) or plasminogen, display alterations to mammary gland structure and impairment of lactation (Lund et al. 1999; Wiseman et al. 2003).  相似文献

Measurements of free-form surfaces are performed with the use of numerically controlled CMMs on the basis of a CAD model, which results in obtaining coordinates of discrete measurement points. The local geometric deviation, i.e. the distance of a particular measurement point from the CAD model of the nominal surface, is established for each point. The measurement aims at evaluating the form deviation and thus the greatest deviation of the actual surface from the CAD model. An effective measurement is one in which the probability of locating the greatest deviation is highest with the smallest possible number of measurement points. The present article suggests a method of planning a measurement strategy for objects with free-form surfaces. Repeatability of deterministic deviations on surfaces processed under the same conditions was applied. A CAD model of the product, built on the measurement points, and including the deterministic component of these deviations, was constructed. Effective surface measurements were planned locating the measurement points in the critical areas. The devised model was used for performing the measurement.  相似文献

To characterize complex, three‐dimensional nanostructures, modern microscopy techniques are needed, such as electron tomography and focused ion beam (FIB) sectioning. The aim of this study was to apply these two techniques to characterize TiO2 nanotubes in terms of their size, shape, volume, porosity, geometric surface area, and specific surface area (SSA). For these experiments, titania nanotubes were fabricated by means of the electrochemical oxidation of titanium at a voltage of 20 V for 2 hr followed by heat treatment at 450°C for 3 hr to change the amorphous structure into a crystalline anatase structure. The quantitative data obtained from the FIB and electron tomography reconstructions show a high similarity in porosity and some differences in SSA. These might be the result of differences in resolution between the two reconstruction techniques.  相似文献

Any solid oxide-originated catalyst is extremely heterogeneous due to several factors. First, it may consist of various phases, each exposing different surfaces characterized by different electronic, and thus catalytic, properties. However, even a particular surface of a chosen phase is heterogeneous as it consists of different chemical elements connected in polyhedra bonded with each other via corners and/or edges and/or walls. In addition, dopants and supports change properties of the surface by enriching its heterogeneity. In the following, the role of dopants as potential sources of surface heterogeneity is discussed, using vanadia as an example.  相似文献

Implementation of the European Landscape Convention requires new tools that link ecological, social and cultural dimensions in practical planning. Here, we propose connectivity as a conceptual tool to include different dimensions into landscape and spatial planning. The health of the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) can be estimated with autofluorescence (AF) imaging of lipofuscin, which accumulates as a byproduct of retinal exposure to light. Lipofuscin may be toxic to the RPE, and its toxicity may be enhanced by short-wavelength (SW) illumination. The high-intensity and SW excitation light used in conventional AF imaging could, at least in principle, increase the rate of lipofuscin accumulation and/or increase its toxicity. We considered two reduced-illuminance AF imaging (RAFI) methods as alternatives to conventional AF imaging. RAFI methods use either near-infrared (NIR) light or reduced-radiance SW illumination for excitation of fluorophores. We quantified the distribution of RAFI signals in relation to retinal structure and function in patients with the prototypical lipofuscin accumulation disease caused by mutations in ABCA4. There was evidence for two subclinical stages of macular ABCA4 disease involving hyperautofluorescence of both SW- and NIR-RAFI with and without associated loss of visual function. Use of RAFI methods and microperimetry in future clinical trials involving lipofuscinopathies should allow quantification of subclinical disease expression and progression without subjecting the diseased retina/RPE to undue light exposure.  相似文献

Gamma irradiated synthetic hydroxyapatite, bone substituting materials NanoBone(?) and HA Biocer were examined using EPR spectroscopy and compared with powdered human compact bone. In every case, radiation-induced carbon centered radicals were recorded, but their molecular structures and concentrations differed. In compact bone and synthetic hydroxyapatite the main signal assigned to the CO(2) (-) anion radical was stable, whereas the signal due to the CO(3) (3-) radical dominated in NanoBone(?) and HA Biocer just after irradiation. However, after a few days of storage of these samples, also a CO(2) (-) signal was recorded. The EPR study of irradiated compact bone and the synthetic graft materials suggest that their microscopic structures are different. In FT-IR spectra of NanoBone(?), HA Biocer and synthetic hydroxyapatite the HPO(4) (2-) and CO(3) (2-) in B-site groups are detected, whereas in compact bone signals due to collagen dominate.  相似文献
