Additive manufacturing technologies are increasingly used in the development of new products. However, variations in part quality in terms of material properties, dimensional tolerances, surface roughness and defects limit its broader acceptance. Process control today based on heuristics and experimental data yields limited improvement in part quality. In an effort to identify the needed measurement science for real-time closed-loop control of additive manufacturing (AM) processes, this paper presents a literature review on the current AM control schemes, process measurements and modelling and simulation methods as it applies to the powder bed fusion process, though results from other processes are reviewed where applicable. We present our research findings to identify the correlations between process parameters, process signatures and product quality. We also present research recommendations on the key control issues to serve as a technical basis for standards development in this area. Good quality NLO single crystal 4-aminopyridine-1-ium 4-aminobenzoate (4AP4AB) were grown by slow evaporation method. The Single crystal XRD analysis shows that the 4AP4AB compound belongs to the monoclinic system with non-centrosymmetric group C. Further, the molecular structure and vibrational assignments of the grown crystal were analysed by NMR and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) analysis. NBO analysis analysed inter and intramolecular interactions. Optical and thermal stabilities have been characterized by UV–Visible and DSC analysis. Linear optical parameters of the 4AP4AB crystal were quantified and listed by UV–visible study. Vicker's microhardness test at room temperature shows that the hardness number increases with increasing the load. The laser damage threshold (LDT) energy has been measured using an Nd:YAG laser. The impedance analysis recorded the dielectric response of the grown 4AP4AB crystal. The appearance of semicircle in Cole–Cole plot represents the dielectric relaxation and resistivity of the 4AP4AB crystal. Solid-state parameters of 4AP4AB were quantified and listed for the theoretical approaches.

The main goal of the present paper is establishing the existence and uniqueness of weak solutions for the nonlinear degenerate reaction–diffusion system with variable exponents. A model also is proposed to characterize the invasion of cancer cells towards healthy cells with acidification environment. A method for the preparation of alumina–aluminum titanate (AT) composites, which can be sintered to high density with a fine-grained microstructure at <1450°C, is reported. The composite precursor is alumina particles coated by sol–gel-derived titania, which reacts during sintering to form AT in situ at temperature as low as 1300°C. The composite can be sintered at 1350°C to 98% density with 1.5–2.0 μm grain size. Other composites containing 5–50 wt% AT are also investigated.  相似文献

The cyst nematodes Heterodera schachtii and Heterodera trifolii, whose major hosts are sugar beet and clover, respectively, damage a broad range of plants, resulting in significant economic losses. Nematodes synthesize metabolites for organismal development and social communication. We performed metabolic profiling of H. schachtii and H. trifolii in the egg, juvenile 2 (J2), and female stages. In all, 392 peaks were analyzed by capillary electrophoresis time-of-flight mass spectrometry, which revealed a lot of similarities among metabolomes. Aromatic amino acid metabolism, carbohydrate metabolism, choline metabolism, methionine salvage pathway, glutamate metabolism, urea cycle, glycolysis, gluconeogenesis, coenzyme metabolism, purine metabolism, pyrimidine metabolism, and tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle for energy conversion (β-oxidation and branched-chain amino acid metabolism) energy storage were involved in all stages studied. The egg and female stages synthesized higher levels of metabolites compared to the J2 stage. The key metabolites detected were glycerol, guanosine, hydroxyproline, citric acid, phosphorylcholine, and the essential amino acids Phe, Leu, Ser, and Val. Metabolites, such as hydroxyproline, acetylcholine, serotonin, glutathione, and glutathione disulfide, which are associated with growth and reproduction, mobility, and neurotransmission, predominated in the J2 stage. Other metabolites, such as SAM, 3PSer, 3-ureidopropionic acid, CTP, UDP, UTP, 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaric acid, 2-amino-2-(hydroxymethyl-1,3-propanediol, 2-hydroxy-4-methylvaleric acid, Gly Asp, glucuronic acid-3 + galacturonic acid-3 Ser-Glu, citrulline, and γ-Glu-Asn, were highly detected in the egg stage. Meanwhile, nicotinamide, 3-PG, F6P, Cys, ADP-Ribose, Ru5P, S7P, IMP, DAP, diethanolamine, p-Hydroxybenzoic acid, and γ-Glu-Arg_divalent were unique to the J2 stage. Formiminoglutamic acid, nicotinaminde riboside + XC0089, putrescine, thiamine 2,3-dihydroxybenzoic acid, 3-methyladenine, caffeic acid, ferulic acid, m-hydrobenzoic acid, o- and p-coumaric acid, and shikimic acid were specific to the female stage. Overall, highly similar identities and quantities of metabolites between the corresponding stages of the two species of nematode were observed. Our results will be a valuable resource for further studies of physiological changes related to the development of nematodes and nematode–plant interactions.  相似文献

Fused deposition modeling (FDM) has been a commonly used technique in the fabrication of geometrically complex biodegradable scaffolds for bone tissue engineering. Generally, either individual polylactide (PLA) or its combination with calcium phosphates or bioglass has been employed to design scaffolds through the principles of FDM. In this study, FDM protocol has been employed to design 3D printed PLA/zirconia-toughened alumina (ZTA). A series of PLA/ZTA combinations have been attempted to determine the feasibility of the resultant in filament extrusion and their subsequent capacity to obtain a stable 3D printed component. A maximum of 80 wt.% PLA and 20 wt.% ZTA has been determined as an optimum combination to yield a stable 3D structure beyond which an enhanced ZTA content in the PLA matrix yielded a fragile filament that lacked effectiveness in 3D printing. 5 and 10 wt.% of ZTA addition in the PLA matrix produced a better 3D design that reasonably displayed good mechanical properties. Depending on the ceramic content, a homogeneous dispersion of the constituent elements representative of ZTA has been determined throughout the PLA matrix. Simulation studies through finite element analysis (FEA) exhibited good corroboration with the test results obtained from the mechanical studies.  相似文献

The methods available for measuring organic P and bound Ca in cheese are either cumbersome or involve dilution of the cheese. Dilution of the cheese can lead to erroneous results, particularly in the case of bound Ca. Hence, the objective of this study was to evaluate the feasibility of Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy for direct measurement of organic P and bound Ca in Cheddar cheese. Two hundred sixteen samples of cheese were analyzed for protein-bound organic P, bound Ca using a water-extraction based method, and buffering curves. Additionally, the infrared spectra of the cheeses were collected between 4,000 and 650 cm−1, at a resolution of 4 cm−1, and 256 scans per sample. The spectral shifts in the infrared region from 1,050 to 900 cm−1, in addition to the measured concentrations of organic P, bound Ca, and buffering peak area at pH 5.1, were used to develop calibration models using partial least squares (PLS) regression analysis. The spectral region of 956 to 946 cm−1 correlated with the measured concentrations of organic P and the overall PLS model had a correlation (R2) of 0.76 between the predicted and measured concentrations. The spectral region at ∼980 cm−1 was correlated with the measured concentrations of bound Ca, and the overall PLS model had a correlation (R2) of 0.70 between the predicted and measured concentrations. A similar spectral region at ∼980 cm−1 was also correlated with the measured buffering peak areas and the overall PLS model had a correlation (R2) of 0.64 between the predicted and measured peak areas. A linear regression analysis between the bound Ca and buffering peak area demonstrated that bound Ca was correlated (R2 = 0.73) with buffering peak area. This study demonstrates that FTIR can be used to measure organic P in cheeses. It also has the potential to be used for measuring bound Ca in undiluted cheeses, and for prediction of the buffering capacity of cheese.  相似文献

Cheddar cheese ripening involves the conversion of lactose to glucose and galactose or galactose-6-phosphate by starter and nonstarter lactic acid bacteria. Under ideal conditions (i.e., where bacteria grow under no stress of pH, water activity, and salt), these sugars are mainly converted to lactic acid. However, during ripening of cheese, survival and growth of bacteria occurs under the stressed condition of low pH, low water activity, and high salt content. This forces bacteria to use alternate biochemical pathways resulting in production of other organic acids. The objective of this study was to determine if the level and type of organic acids produced during ripening was influenced by calcium (Ca) and phosphorus (P), residual lactose, and salt-to-moisture ratio (S/M) of cheese. Eight cheeses with 2 levels of Ca and P (0.67 and 0.47% vs. 0.53 and 0.39%, respectively), lactose at pressing (2.4 vs. 0.78%), and S/M (6.4 vs. 4.8%) were manufactured. The cheeses were analyzed for organic acids (citric, orotic, pyruvic, lactic, formic, uric, acetic, propanoic, and butyric acids) and residual sugars (lactose, galactose) during 48 wk of ripening using an HPLC-based method. Different factors influenced changes in concentration of residual sugars and organic acids during ripening and are discussed in detail. Our results indicated that the largest decrease in lactose and the largest increase in lactic acid occurred between salting and d 1 of ripening. It was interesting to observe that although the lactose content in cheese was influenced by several factors (Ca and P, residual lactose, and S/M), the concentration of lactic acid was influenced only by S/M. More lactic acid was produced in low S/M treatments compared with high S/M treatments. Although surprising for Cheddar cheese, a substantial amount (0.2 to 0.4%) of galactose was observed throughout ripening in all treatments. Minor changes in the levels of citric, uric, butyric, and propanoic acids were observed during early ripening, whereas during later ripening, a substantial increase was observed. A gradual decrease in orotic acid and a gradual increase in pyruvic acid content of the cheeses were observed during 12 mo of ripening. In contrast, acetic acid did not show a particular trend, indicating its role as an intermediate in a biochemical pathway, rather than a final product.  相似文献

Optimized synthesis of Ti-precursor ‘titanylnitrate’ for one step combustion synthesis of N- and C-doped TiO2 catalysts were reported and characterized by using powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), diffused reflectance UV–vis spectroscopy, N2 adsorption and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). XRD confirmed the formation of TiO2 anatase and nano-crystallite size which was further confirmed by TEM. UV-DRS confirmed the decrease in the band gap to less than 3.0 eV, which was assigned due to the presence of C and N in the framework of TiO2 as confirmed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Degradation of methylene blue in aqueous solution under the direct sunlight was carried out and typical results indicated the better performance of the synthesized catalysts than Degussa P-25.  相似文献
