Variations in texture were determined for 10 day aged raw and cooked Longissimus thoracis (LT) muscle from 436 bulls of 15 European cattle breeds slaughtered at an age of 13–16 months. Variations in texture were related to differences in pH 24 h post-mortem, sarcomere length, collagen characteristics and lipid content. The shear force of cooked meat samples varied from 43.8 to 67.4 N/cm2. Simmental, Highland and Marchigiana cattle had the highest shear force values and Avileña-Negra Ibérica, Charolais, Casina and Pirenaica cattle had the lowest values. Cooked meat toughness showed a weak negative correlation to lipid content (P < 0.001) but no correlation to collagen characteristics. Raw meat texture measured by compression correlated positively (P < 0.001) with total and insoluble collagen. In conclusion, collagen characteristics showed correlation to raw meat texture but not to cooked meat toughness of LT muscle in European young bulls. 相似文献

Diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) are a serious complication from diabetes mellitus, with a huge economic, social and psychological impact on the patients’ life. One of the main reasons why DFUs are so difficult to heal is related to the presence of biofilms. Biofilms promote wound inflammation and a remarkable lack of response to host defences/treatment options, which can lead to disease progression and chronicity. In fact, appropriate treatment for the elimination of these microbial communities can prevent the disease evolution and, in some cases, even avoid more serious outcomes, such as amputation or death. However, the detection of biofilm-associated DFUs is difficult due to the lack of methods for diagnostics in clinical settings. In this review, the current knowledge on the involvement of biofilms in DFUs is discussed, as well as how the surrounding environment influences biofilm formation and regulation, along with its clinical implications. A special focus is also given to biofilm-associated DFU diagnosis and therapeutic strategies. An overview on promising alternative therapeutics is provided and an algorithm considering biofilm detection and treatment is proposed. 相似文献

This study focused on how the formation of phosphosilicate glass (PSG) film affects the solar cell emitter profile when using an inline ultrasonic mist phosphoric acid source and an inline diffusion furnace. This investigation used a novel approach, whereby the samples were extracted from the inline furnace mid‐process that allowed for the investigation of incompletely formed PSGs. All experimentation was conducted at BP Solar Australia. Total Gravimetric Analysis found that the dilute phosphoric acid dehydrates to form a high concentration phosphoric acid layer on the top surface. X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy then showed this top surface reacts with the silicon and is reduced to form silicon phosphide. ECV results then demonstrated that the sheet resistance and emitter surface concentration of phosphorus is dependent upon the ratio of phosphide to total phosphorus in the PSG film. A low pressure impactor is used to measure triboelectric charging behavior of metallic nanoparticles. Ag nanoparticles, produced by spark discharge, were impacted onto Pt sputtered targets. The influence of the impaction angle and impaction velocity on the triboelectric charging was investigated. While for perpendicular impaction the charge transfer behavior of previous work was confirmed, the oblique impaction revealed new phenomena. Additional charge transfer was observable, which increases with obliqueness. The possibility of mass transfer between particle and target due to the high-energy collisions was also investigated. SEM characterization and Auger spectroscopy indicate mass transfer from the particle to the target surface. 相似文献

Implants made of ceramics, and more particularly of calcium phosphates (hydroxyapatite: HA, mainly), promoting intimate contact with natural bone are nowadays merging. Addition of copper ions in bio-ceramics is expected to increase the biological compatibilities of bone graft substitutes. Previous works have shown that copper-doped hydroxyapatite (Cu-doped HA) ceramics can be prepared by solid-state sintering between HA and CuO powder mixtures at about 1100 °C; but, copper-substituted HA was found to be metastable leading to apatitic grains and Cu-rich grain boundaries during the sintering process. Ultra-rapid sintering is so needed. Selective laser sintering (SLS) is an additive manufacturing process that possesses the advantage to be based on ultra-fast sintering process under laser irradiation. SLS being used in literature for the application of laser on polymer-ceramic or poymer-metal composites the proper term all along the paper is Ceramic Powder Bed Laser Sintering (CPBLS). To achieve densification of Cu-doped HA ceramics from CPBLS process, one should control the composition/morphology/structure of the powder bed as well as three other important CPBLS parameters: (i) the applied energy from the laser beam, (ii) the laser power and the laser scanning speed, (iii) the distance between two successive lased lines. In this paper, the impact of all the main CPBLS parameters controlling the sintering of dip-coated Cu-doped HA layers on glass substrates is carefully investigated. Possibility of the creation of thin consolidated Cu-doped HA ceramic patterns, using the ultra-fast CPBLS process, is finally shown. 相似文献

In this article, we develop proportional, fractional-integral, and derivative () controllers for the regulation and tracking problems of nonlinear systems. The analytic results are obtained by extending the passivity-based approach to include fractional operators. Robustness under parametric uncertainty is dealt with by a combination with an adaptive scheme. It is also shown their robustness under additive noise and their robustness under uncertainty in the derivation order. The advantages in the controlled system performance and in the control energy consumption in comparison to classic PI and proportional integral derivative controllers are illustrated for the quadratic boost converter and a benchmark system in the literature. 相似文献

The combined effect of resistance spot welding and precipitation hardening on the localised corrosion of A286 superalloy is studied. The specimens tested by double loop electrochemical potentiokinetic reactivation were welded in the solution treated condition, and then subjected to different precipitation hardening treatments. For both base metal and weld nugget, the maximum localised corrosion is reached when η phase is clearly observable. The fact that the localised corrosion resistance of weld nugget is different from that shown by base metal may be explained by the segregation of Ni and Ti towards the interdendritic region of weld nugget (studied by using scanning electron microscope/energy dispersive X-ray analysis). 相似文献
