In industrialized countries cardiovascular diseases are the major cause of death. Beside heart transplants, which are a limited option due to the limited number of available human donor hearts, Total Artificial Hearts (TAHs) are the only therapy available for some patients with terminal heart diseases. For various reasons a total implantable artificial heart is desirable, but also sets restrictions in terms of weight and dimensions due to the limited space in the human thorax. In this paper new active only current-mode integrator and differentiator with electronically tunable time constants are described. They are composed of one operational amplifier (OA) and two operational transconductance amplifiers (OTAs), and are suitable for monolithic implementation either with CMOS or bipolar technologies. Irradiation combined with a conventional cooking procedure was applied to meatball and the effects on bacterial load and inoculatedAeromonas hydrophila were determined. Meatball samples were irradiated by using a60Co source at the dose levels of 0, 0.30,0.75,1.50,2.50 kGy and cold stored at 4±1°C for 7 days. Bacterial load and the count ofA. hydrophila decreased when the irradiation dose level increased. A minimum inhibition effect was found at the dose of 0.30 kGy. Irradiation in combination with a conventional cooking procedure was found to be more effective in reducingA. hydrophila and the bacterial load in meatball. The light‐induced reversible switching of the swelling of microgel particles triggered by photo‐isomerization and binding/unbinding of a photosensitive azobenzene‐containing surfactant is reported. The interactions between the microgel (N‐isopropylacrylamide, co‐monomer: allyl acetic acid, crosslinker: N,N′‐methylenebisacrylamide) and the surfactant are studied by UV‐Vis spectroscopy, dynamic and electrophoretic light scattering measurements. Addition of the surfactant above a critical concentration leads to contraction/collapse of the microgel. UV light irradiation results in trans‐cis isomerization of the azobenzene unit incorporated into the surfactant tail and causes an unbinding of the more hydrophilic cis isomer from the microgel and its reversible swelling. The reversible contraction can be realized by blue light irradiation that transfers the surfactant back to the more hydrophobic trans conformation, in which it binds to the microgel. The phase diagram of the surfactant‐microgel interaction and transitions (aggregation, contraction, and precipitation) is constructed and allows prediction of changes in the system when the concentration of one or both components is varied. Remote and reversible switching between different states can be realized by either UV or visible light irradiation. 相似文献

The reliability of InP/InGaAs DHBT under high collector current densities and low junction temperatures is analyzed and modeled. From the Gummel characteristics, we observe several types of device degradation, resulting from the long term changes of base and collector current in both lower and higher base–emitter voltage ranges which impacts the reduction of DC current gain. In this paper, we investigate the underlying physical mechanism of base and collector current degradation with the help of TCAD device simulation. We chose the HICUM model level2 for the modeling purpose to evaluate the drift of model parameters according to stress time. The evolution of the model parameters is described with suitable equations to achieve a physics based compact electrical aging model. The aging laws and the parameter evolution equations with stress time are implemented in compact electrical aging model which allows us to simulate the impact of device failure mechanisms on the circuit in operating conditions. 相似文献

Recently, CMOS has been demonstrated to be a viable technology for very-high-bit-rate broad-band and wireless communication systems up to 40 Gb/s and 50 GHz. Advances in device scaling and doping-profile optimization have also resulted in SiGe bipolar transistors with impressive performance, including cut-off frequencies of more than 200 GHz. This paper presents advances in circuit design which fully exploit the high-speed potential of a 0.13 µm CMOS technology up to 50 GHz and of a high-performance SiGe bipolar technology up to 110 GHz operating frequency. The combination of advanced circuit techniques and a state-of-the-art fabrication-process technology results in continuing the upward shift of the frequency limits. 相似文献

This paper presents a new method for 3-D tomographic reconstruction of stent in X-ray cardiac rotational angiography. The method relies on 2-D motion correction from two radiopaque markerballs located on each side of the stent. The two markerballs are on a guidewire and linked to the balloon, which is introduced into the artery. Once the balloon has been inflated, deflated, and the stent deployed, a rotational sequence around the patient is acquired. Under the assumption that the guidewire and the stent have the same 3-D motion during rotational acquisition, we developed an algorithm to correct cardiac stent motion on the 2-D X-ray projection images. The 3-D image of the deployed stent is then reconstructed with the Feldkamp algorithm using all the available projections. Although the correction is an approximation, we show that the intrinsic geometrical error of our method has no visual impact on the reconstruction when the 2-D markerball centers are exactly detected and the markerballs have the same 3-D motion as the stent. Qualitative and quantitative results on simulated sequences under different realistic conditions demonstrate the robustness of the method. Finally, results from animal data acquired on a rotational angiography device are presented. 相似文献

High resolution terahertz (THz) spectroscopy is a powerful analytical tool for laboratory purposes as well as for remote sensing in astronomy, planetary research, and Earth observation. THz quantum cascade lasers (QCLs) are promising sources for implementation into THz spectrometers, in particular at frequencies above 3 THz, which is the least explored portion of the THz region. One application of QCLs in THz spectroscopy is in absorption spectrometers, where they can replace less powerful and somewhat cumbersome sources based on frequency mixing with gas lasers. Another one is using a QCL as local oscillator in a heterodyne spectrometer for remote sensing. This article will review the state-of-the art in high resolution THz spectroscopy with QCLs. 相似文献

Non-malleability protects against man-in-the middle attacks on cryptographic protocols. Non-malleable commitment schemes, for example, assure that a commitment of a message does not help to produce a commitment of a related message. Here we present efficient constructions of such commitment schemes in the common reference string model based on standard assumptions such as RSA, factoring, or discrete logarithm. Our protocols require only three rounds and a few modular exponentiations, and provide statistical or even perfect secrecy of committed values. 相似文献

The main objective of this paper is to analyse residential demand by traffic destination, using a translogarithmic indirect utility function. We focus on five traffic directions, in order to construct a model adapted to evaluate the characteristics of telecommunications demand in a competitive market. The resulting price elasticities express high reactivity to own price changes for the main traffic directions, as well as little interactions between the different types of traffic. Moreover, the high values of income elasticities confirm the importance of income effects when analysing residential telecommunications demand. This model shows useful for welfare analysis. The computation of customers' income equivalent variation shows, on average, a higher willingness to pay for some traffic directions than the bill actually paid. Finally, we show that the optimal prices for the operator, in a cost minimisation point of view, are higher than the observed prices for local and national traffic directions. This emphasises the existence of important cross-subsidies among the different segments of customers. 相似文献
