A rare case of hepatoblastoma in a 61-year-old Japanese housewife is described. This liver tumor mainly consisted of two tissue components: embryonal hepatocytes and primitive mesenchymal tissue. Fetal hepatocytes with alpha-fetoprotein production, gland formation, cartilage and osteoid were also found in a small portion. Molecular analysis by slot blot method revealed increased copy numbers of c-met and K-sam proto-oncogenes and cyclin D1 genes. These findings suggest that alterations of these oncogenes might play a role in the development of adult hepatoblastoma.  相似文献

Two recursive algorithms are presented for calculating the coefficients of a bandpass transfer function, given the lowpass prototype transfer function. In both cases, the method is general, valid for prototypes having both poles and zeros, and provides excellent accuracy. The paper deals with an OFDM (orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) system based on filter-bank architecture. The known implementation uses a DFT (discrete Fourier transform) processor and a polyphase network (PPN). Even if it is based on complex components, in the final step it operates the real part extraction of the incoming signal. This leads to redundant operations in the DFT processor and in the PPN. Specifically, for the transmission of N complex symbol sequences at a given rate ½F, an N-point DFT processor and an N-branch PPN, both working at the rate F, are required. This implementation can be improved with a complexity reduction by a factor of two. In fact, in the paper an architecture is presented based on an N-point DFT processor and N-branch PPN at the rate F, for the transmission of 2N (in place of N) complex symbol sequences at the rate ½F  相似文献

A computer-aided method for investigating disturbances due to the forced paralleling of out of phase high speed salient pole AC generator systems feeding isolated loads is presented. The method is used to predict the system performance including the reverse voltage across the rotating bridge rectifier of the field exciter. This paper presents the fundamentals and the modeling approach used in the development of this method. In addition, the results of using this approach to compute the machine parameters under different load conditions including saturation effects due to magnetic material nonlinearities and space harmonics effects due to machine geometry and winding layouts are presented. The computed parameters are validated by comparison to test data. These parameters form the main data for simulating the forced paralleling of out of phase high speed salient pole AC generator systems feeding isolated loads. Further, the results of using this modeling approach in a case study to predict the system performance due to forced power transfer are summarized and are shown to be in good agreement with test data  相似文献

Many parallel algorithms use hypercubes as the communication topology among their processes. When such algorithms are executed on hypercube multicomputers the communication cost is kept minimum since processes can be allocated to processors in such a way that only communication between neighbor processors is required. However, the scalability of hypercube multicomputers is constrained by the fact that the interconnection cost-per-node increases with the total number of nodes. From scalability point of view, meshes and toruses are more interesting classes of interconnection topologies. This paper focuses on the execution of algorithms with hypercube communication topology on multicomputers with mesh or torus interconnection topologies. The proposed approach is based on looking at different embeddings of hypercube graphs onto mesh or torus graphs. The paper concentrates on toruses since an already known embedding, which is called standard embedding, is optimal for meshes. In this paper, an embedding of hypercubes onto toruses of any given dimension is proposed. This novel embedding is called xor embedding. The paper presents a set of performance figures for both the standard and the xor embeddings and shows that the latter outperforms the former for any torus. In addition, it is proven that for a one-dimensional torus (a ring) the xor embedding is optimal in the sense that it minimizes the execution time of a class of parallel algorithms with hypercube topology. A fuducial line technique has been developed to determine the creep properties of the constituent phases within a lamellar composite subject to compression creep deformation. The technique can yield information on the total strain, creep rate, and the stress exponent and activation energy for creep of the individual phases within a lamellar microstructure. The contribution of interphase interfacial sliding to the strain of lamellar composites can also be evaluated by using the fiducial line technique. Application of the fiducial line analysis to a two-phase TiAl/Ti3Al lamellar alloy deformed in compression at 1080K and 380MPa yields good agreement between the creep strain determined using the fiducial line analysis and the value directly measured from the crept specimen. The fiducial line analysis reveals that the TiAl phase within the two-phase TiAl/Ti3Al lamellar microstructure creeps 2.2 times faster than the Ti3Al phase and that interfacial sliding does not contribute to creep deformation of this alloy, within the resolution limit of the fiducial line experiment.  相似文献

Phosphocreatine molecules (PCR) in skin regenerate adenosine triphosphate and help cutaneous tissue survive ischemia associated with skin flaps, grafts, and hair transplantation procedures. In addition, PCR concentration in psoriasis is elevated many times above normal, indicating either overproduction of PCR by mitochondrial creatine phosphokinase (CPK) enzymes or a defect in cytosol CPK enzymatic activity. Skin CPK isoenzymes, before this study, have not been identified. Herein, for the first time, cytosol CPK enzymatic activity was measured in normal and psoriatic, involved and uninvolved skin, skin tumors, and mouse skin and keratinocyte cell cultures. Creatine phosphokinase MM is the major isoenzyme in normal, uninvolved psoriatic and mouse skin. Total CPK enzymatic activity was increased in psoriasis and skin tumors. These data clearly indicate that increased PCR concentration in a psoriatic skin is not a result of decreased cytosol CPK enzymatic activity.  相似文献
